If you love all three, wait until he is born and see which one he "looks" like. DH and I had a shortlist and said if she didn't look like the name at the top we'd work our way down. Luckily, she looked like the name at the top of this list

MamaGryffindor · 10/07/2007 09:10

I like reece
don't like the others

lulumama · 10/07/2007 09:10

not made keen on either of them , i'm afraid!

MamaGryffindor · 10/07/2007 09:11

lulumama · 10/07/2007 09:13

MamaGryffindor · 10/07/2007 09:14

One of my friends has a little boy called Reece

he's absolutely adorable so it makes me like his name more

I really don't like Blake or Mitchell (tad chav )

nadinetd · 10/07/2007 09:15

HA HA I PREFER HONESTY!
I LIKE BLAKE THE BEST DH LIKES REECE.

TaylorsMummy · 10/07/2007 09:26

reece the best of the three, altho always reminds me of greece/grease/greasy

blake reminds me of bleak for some reason

and mitchell i just don't like.it's too hard sounding and reminds me of phl mitchell

claraq · 10/07/2007 09:30

Blake's 7 is a classic early 80's (?) science fiction telly programme, oh God you make me feel old now! Blake was one of the main characters in that crappy American soap Dynasty. But if you don't have those association's that's good. Your child certainly won't!
Blake was also the guy who came 2nd in American Idol this year (I seem to recall). But don't let that put you off!!

nadinetd · 10/07/2007 09:31

yeah thats the only blake i know and where we gotr it from blake lewis from american idol ha ha

Flakey blake?

My DH is always very good at coming up with reasons why we shouldn't use a particular name!

nadinetd · 10/07/2007 09:36

oh no and he may have ezema (cant spell) then he will be picked on

OP posts:
claraq · 10/07/2007 09:39

Exactly! Gotta think these things through! When we were thinking of a girls name last time round I wasn't allowed Rosy because of Rosy Buttocks or Flo because of Aunt Flo. I am sure there were others.
I hope I am helping to keep your mind off your possible induction today. What time is your appointment?

TaylorsMummy · 10/07/2007 09:41

and if he's bald and podgy - which is quite likely for a while - he might get called phil!! (mitchell)

lol

nadinetd · 10/07/2007 09:44

my appointment is at 1.30 i just want to get on with it i hope it doesnt take days and days.
they may not even do it and let me be house bound for another 10 days i will ring his neck if he says that.
mitchell is now out!
like reese! blake is now not my fav do u think it sounds a bit chav too?

OP posts:
claraq · 10/07/2007 09:49

Don't let anything anyone has said put you off the names.
But Blake is slightly chavtastic. Not that I am an expert! I am a little too over-the-hill to know what is chavvy and what isn't. Although I know I probably wouldn't call my child Wayne (although maybe Waynie Wonder will make it popular again?)
I struggled to find a boy's name that I liked last time, well we had a girl so that was ok. This time we have decided just to go for a comination of our dad's names so William Thomas is favourite.
What's your dad's name or grandfather's name? Any inspiration there?

bohemianbint · 10/07/2007 09:53

sorry - they all sound a bit American!

nadinetd · 10/07/2007 09:57

the babys middle name will be thomas after my grandad and my dad is glen thomas.

i think reese thomas sounds quite nice!

OP posts:
claraq · 10/07/2007 10:08

Yes Reece (Reese?) Thomas is nice. But wait until he is born and another name might pop into your head.
