What were the signs?

No I didn't, I was 2 weeks late with DD before I tested and 1 week late with DS when I tested.

Symptoms were late AF and after AF due I got tingly boobs in the shower.

Rantmum · 09/07/2007 11:34

I am just hoping and I wish I didn't have to wait another week to find out...

Second time around, I got pg while breastfeeding and my periods hadn't returned so I didn't have that clue. However, I went off coffee and alcohol. Couldn't face either of them one weekend. It had been the same with my first pregnancy so that's how I realised I was pg again.

cece · 09/07/2007 11:37

I know some people on here 'knew' prior to af being late - they might come on here later... But I had no idea till after AF due.

FioFioJane · 09/07/2007 11:37

I dont know, you just know dont you

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 09/07/2007 11:37

mine sign is a back ache, 1st time round i was in so much pain thought i had kidney infection

expatinscotland · 09/07/2007 11:38

With DD2, I just knew.

I finally caved and tested the day before I was due on.

Got a positive.

With DD1, I started vomitting and feeling nauseous from the get go.

I tested three days after I was due and got a positive.

BikeBug · 09/07/2007 11:40

I was 'sure' before I tested (was in the wilds of Scotland with no access to a pg test for 2 weeks!) - I was eating everything in sight, was slightly constipated despite loads of fruit and veg, and just felt different. But then I was 'sure' the month before as well, and tested -ve when AF was 2 days late. Hindsight is a wonderful thing ...

Sixer · 09/07/2007 11:41

Just knew. Signs for me were tingly, heavy, sensitive boobs and tiredness. Boobs were the defo sign though.

violeta · 09/07/2007 11:47

Nope, had no idea until period was late. Then, I started noticing other symptoms such as tiredness and having to go to the toilet more often. By the time I tested, when I was about 5 days late, I knew and wasn't too surprised!

theressomethingaboutmarie · 09/07/2007 11:57

My boobies were a little sore but like other posters, I somehow, just knew...

We were out for dinner on the Saturday night (my period was 3 days late) and I purposefully stayed away from the blue cheese starter and didn't drink alcohol. I did the test the next day and it was positive. Currently 27 weeks pg.

thirtysomething · 09/07/2007 12:02

I knew with 2nd pregnancy as recognised signs from first - waking up in night boling hot was my give-away - it happened with both pregnancies about ten days after conception - I think it was down to progesterone surge. Otherwise peeing a lot and sore pelvis.

Miaou · 09/07/2007 12:04

Yes I did, every time I got pg (on my fourth now) - but I couldn't tell you how I knew, I just did!

fennel · 09/07/2007 12:04

I knew third time round the week before my period was due. It was the metallic taste in the mouth which I'd had in the other pregnancies.

pirategirl · 09/07/2007 12:06

long awaited pg, 3 yrs trying. Went to Glastonbury Tor, camping, and a prayed to become pg.

Thought, it willbe a miracle if that works, but somehow I just 'knew' that if I wasnt pg, it would be all wrong. thetime was just right.

Few days b4 af was due, i went for a meal, and just felt I had to have soemthing fresh to eat, salad, nothing greasy. Made me feel sicky to think of sqaushy food.

Af then 2 days late, so did the test and I was as shocked as you like.

So for me, i felt sicky, ooh yes and v emotional, I remember an almighty row in the supermarket carpark the next day too!!

Pheebe · 09/07/2007 12:13

Funnily enough I 'knew' every time I was pregnant but then miscarried (loads!), no symptoms just knew, but with DS1 (nearly 3) and this pregnancy (25 weeks) I was in total denial and DH had to force me to take a test both times - he knew before I did.

No symptoms either time till about 8 weeks.

Babylovesmuffins · 09/07/2007 13:26

I didn't 'know' as such but I had what I thought were PMT cramps and terrible PMT moods. Later found out this was the egg attaching to the lining of my womb and also the surge of hormones!!

I also felt really sensitive during my regular waxing appointment and my beautician told me it was either because my period was due or because I was pregnant (and I knew my period wasn't due for another couple of weeks!!)

Oblomov · 09/07/2007 13:29

I knew. I don't know how I knew, but I just did. I don't think that there is an explanation as to why some people know and others don't.

NoNickname · 09/07/2007 13:33

General achiness in lower abdomen.
Needing to wee more.
Feeling hot and sweaty at night.
Itchy nipples.
Implantation bleed.

merryberry · 09/07/2007 13:35

both times unable to choose food, didn;t fancy anything, plus mild extra salivation and metal mouth taste

bohemianbint · 09/07/2007 13:38

I had no idea I was preg but I knew something was up, I thought I was ill! Was really tired and fuzzy headed and dizzy. THought it was a cold so dragged myself to the gym to try to get the energy up and see if I could snap out of it. I was so shocked when I found out I was pregnant (and slightly worried as had been on the rotten piss for about a month! )

Sixer · 09/07/2007 14:02

ugh yes, that vile metallic taste here as well.

AskABusyPerson · 09/07/2007 14:09

I knew I mite be as it was our third month of trying, AF was due on the Monday, but the Thursday evening I began to feel sick and tired and knew why! Also the Sat and Sun I had no AF symptoms, such as spotting, crabby mood etc, I did a test Sun am (Superdrug cheapie) and was so faint I thought I was imagining it! Bought a Clearblue digital on the Monday and it was 'Pregnant' so no doubt there!!

timmyinatizzy · 09/07/2007 14:44

I started getting stomach cramps about 4 days after AF was due, which lasted about 3 days. Knew it was strange as I don't usually get period pains. And my dp commented on how hot my stomach was for a couple of nights. We'd had a stressful 2 weeks previous to AF being due and I put the lateness of it down to that and wouldn't believe it until I'd tested. Dp got fed up when I was 6 days late and went and bought the Clearblue ones. Pregnant line came up almost immediately. No 2 minute wait here!

sweetkitty · 09/07/2007 14:45

Have just known with all 3 of them. This one I got a BFP 5 days before AF was due. Still don't have any symptoms (5+1 weeks today) apart from needing to pee more.

With DD1 we were trying for 9 months and a few days before AF was due I dreamt I saw 2 lines on a pregnancy test I kid you not.
