Anxiety prior to 12 week scan next week

Hello ladies, guess I’m just after reassurance, postive stories or just a general hand hold. I had a missed miscarriage last year and found out at my 12 week scan that the pregnancy had not got further than the later part of 8 weeks. This time around I have had an early private 9 week reassurance scan that showed a lovely heartbeat. I balled my eyes out but I knew it was only temporary reassurance. Now the big one is approaching the sick anxious feeling has set in and I’m just praying I don’t get bad news again. I still feel tired, bloated, crazy dreams etc etc but I’m just so scared!! It’s also my 30th birthday 3 days after and I don’t want my whole birthday ruined 😢 xx

Hi @fluffyunicorns86, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss last year (indeed all your losses x) It's so hard not to worry when you've had previous losses isn't it? Tuesday will be here in no time, I think we just have to take things a day at a time and try not to panic. Having said that I am almost feeling like I don't want to go to my scan today I'm so stressed! I've only had MMC at previous scans and so desperately hoping for a good outcome today

@russiandwarf it is very hard not to worry at all. I hope so I feel like the days are dragging TBH. yeah thats what I am trying to do. I am so scared of picking up infections as could have been what caused my miscarriage last year. I hope it goes ok for you today hun, when are you due? always here if you want to talk.

Thanks 😘 I do find chatting here helps a lot. It's just good to know you're not alone, especially when you're still hiding it from your friends! I'm due sometime around the start of Oct maybe between 3rd-6th - dates seem to be changeable between early scans and Midwife's estimation! Yours mustn't be far off from that? I think we're only a few days apart!

Your welcome @russiandwarf it does help to have other people to talk to who been through the same. yeah I have told a couple friends but only because If I ever needed support they would be there. I have had 2 early scans and first showed I wasn't as far along as I thought thought I wa s7 weeks but turned out I was only 5+6 then had a second and was 10 weeks. So as it stands at the minute its between the 4th and 8th of oct will see what scan says next week to what my actual date is. Yeah we are only a few days apart I am 13 weeks tomorrow

Hi ladies, what a lovely thread! I was scrolling, scrolling hoping to see a scan picture for @Babycakes1989 and there it was!
I had a MMC in 2017, went for 12 weeks scan to be told baby had stopped developing at 7 weeks. Now pregnant again 7W+5 and ha e had my 12 scan date through...can totally relate to the anxiety surrounding it all. Fingers crossed we will

I'm 10+3 (I think) and this is my first pregnancy. I'm so anxious about my 12 week scan (the week after next) that I just booked a private one for Saturday. Here's hoping both go well.
How do you all deal with the anxiety?

Can I join? I have mine a week today and keep on running through various scenarios. Currently focusing on sorting out our holiday

12 week scan tomorrow although I will be 13 weeks+4 so anxious and nervous for it

Hi @fluffyunicorns86 just wanted to wish you well for tomorrow! I've been in bed with a terrible lurgy since last week and forgot to come back and update! Thankfully all went well at my scan, although I had got so worked up about it I had a meltdown in the scan room and cried my eyes out 😳 It's so bloody stressful! As a result I've got a 16 week scan appt as it was obvious I wasn't going to make it to 20 weeks as I'm a basket case! 😂 Hope you've managed to have a good weekend and kept yourself distracted x

Hi @russiandwarf. I was thinking bout you over last few days. Glad all went well at your scan. Thank you I will be surprised if I don't have a melt down tbh. Hope you get better soon hun I am still trying to get over a cold. I dunno if I will make it to 20 weeks but may book early scan for gender. Weekend wasn't to bad thank you definitely tried to keep busy. Hope.you had a good weekend as much as you could xx

I'm in early pregnancy after missed miscarriage at 12+1 last year - probably having similar feelings to the ones other people are describing. It's really good to hear from all of you.

@vesta29 congratulations I am 13 weeks 3 days after losing my son at 18 weeks pregnant in October last year has been very hard so far for me tbh also been through early miscarriage still born and also a missed miscarriage

@Russiandwarf thank you everything went well baby wouldn't move head out of pelvis for her to see though. I am 13+1 and due 7th October x

Congratulations to everyone that has had their good news ❤️🤩 The anxiety never goes, I have my 16 week appointment next week and will then get my 20 week scan through soon and it’s alreasy creeping into my thoughts. Stay strong ladies 🥰 always here if you want to talk xxx your all so brave xxx

@babycakes1989 I have my 20 week scan on 24th may which seems forever away lol. Waiting for consultant appointment and pre term clinic appointment also got midwife in 2 weeks. I am at ease for now not sure I will be able to wait till 20 week scan may have to book private one xxx

Still struggling with a cold @fluffyunicorns86 🤧 also got an inconclusive result for Downs from the tests done last week, although low risk for Edwards and Patau. Apparently I have high hcg, I don't know what to think about that. Having an NIPT/Harmony test done tomorrow 🤞A bit stressed about that now! I think due date is 4th October so very similar to you! X

@russiandwarf I am still struggling with a cold 3 weeks later it's awful and want it yo go away now. Oh no am sure it will all be ok hun. I didn't opt to have them done haven't with any of the others either. Hope you get some answers though. Ah so only 3 days difference then :) I can see why you stressed am always here if you want to rant or Dr stress or anything xx

They also did a scan for their own system for dating so that's 4 scans I've had in total now 😂 I'm a bit less stressed today so at least that's something. Awful that you've had your cold for 3 weeks! Last thing you want to have to deal with on top of anxiety and pregnancy symptoms isn't it xx

@russiandwarf bless you hope you get the results back soon and all is ok. Thank you hun means a lot to have someone be there. I got a call today I will be having another scan on the 25th April at 16 weeks with the pre term clinic think that is more to check length of cervix though but another scan to help me hopefully. I know it's awful really want it to go away now xx😘😀
