Anxiety prior to 12 week scan next week

Hello ladies, guess I’m just after reassurance, postive stories or just a general hand hold. I had a missed miscarriage last year and found out at my 12 week scan that the pregnancy had not got further than the later part of 8 weeks. This time around I have had an early private 9 week reassurance scan that showed a lovely heartbeat. I balled my eyes out but I knew it was only temporary reassurance. Now the big one is approaching the sick anxious feeling has set in and I’m just praying I don’t get bad news again. I still feel tired, bloated, crazy dreams etc etc but I’m just so scared!! It’s also my 30th birthday 3 days after and I don’t want my whole birthday ruined 😢 xx

Morning @hannah9176 sorry to hear about your previous mc. It is such a horrible long wait for your scan isn't it. Then I am wondering if the worry goes away after that or it carries on??
I also have had similar feelings / reduced sickness and nausea over this past week and it does make you panic. Try and think about how much our bodies change and that symptoms do come and go. We are bound to get the "feelings" from what has happened previously. Get yourself a nice early night and hopefully tomorrow will be here before you know it. xx

@Lee54 yeah I think it's very much a mind over matter! I think it's partly cause I never got this far last time it almost seems to good to be true! Just got to wait until the morning at least now. They initially booked me in for a week on Friday but I couldn't cope with the wait so asked if they had anything this week! I'll be 12 weeks exactly!

Hi all, can I join you? Finally got a scan date for next week (paperwork was lost somewhere en route to the hospital 😳) Have had two early private scans due to anxiety from previous MMCs and quite honestly feel ill at the thought of going to this next scan. Hope all went well today for you @hannah9176

@russiandwarf so annoying when things get delayed. I think they forget although it's a day to day thing for them it's a really big deal to us! Scan went really well, baby was wriggling all over the place. Measuring at 12 weeks exactly. So much better knowing it's ok! We even hit on and got the scan pics free as they were training up a sonographer so we got about 10! Amazing! Good luck with yours! Be here before we know it!

Hey ladies, after what's felt like the longest wait, I had my 12 week scan today and was so relieved to see a heartbeat.
I had no reason to think anything would be wrong but was still feeling so anxious and preparing for bad news.
I need to go back in a few weeks to be officially dated as baby wasn't playing ball today so we couldn't get all the checks and measurements required.
Couldn't do the nuchal check as a result so I've been told theres a different blood test that checks 4 hormones that will be done after 14 weeks instead?! I dont know much about that so will need to investigate a little.
Baby had their back to us at first attempt so was sent away to eat something sweet and drink a little more, then about 20 mins later they were upside down!! Then very wriggly so I saw lots of movement which was lovely.
A bit frustrating that all the checks couldn't be completed as a result but I suppose it means I'll get another look at baby in a few weeks which is nice.

Ahhh great news @hannah9176 and @angelix that your scans went well! ❤️ Also a bonus to get a stack of free scan pics @hannah9176!! I keep forgetting that there are measurements and tests they do, just so desperate to see if there's still a heartbeat. So many things to think about!

We also had good news at our scan on Thursday! They were really lovely at the hospital, pretty much told us straight away there was a heart beat ❤️ we are so so happy!!!

@Lee54 anxious anxious anxious. I'm glad to hear your scan went well. I just want ours over, whatever the answer I want to know. Hate being in limbo xx

Can I join this please?! Got scan on Monday. Very nervous with this pregnancy as have had three recurrent miscarriages at 6,8and 15 weeks. So scared somethings gone awry despite healthy 8week scan. Never felt like this with my ds - ignorance is bliss I guess. Counting the hours literally until lunchtime Monday. Eeeeeeeek

How's everyone holding up waiting for scans this week? Hope yours went well yesterday @angel0071987? I'm in a state of panic for Thursday. Need to calm the hell down 😣

@russiandwarf mine is tomorrow and sheer panic and anxiety has hit me. Haven't told anyone in real life when it is (other than OH) I just hope it's a better outcome than our last 12 week scan xx

Ladies I felt like this before too ❤️ It’s only normal!! Please just remember how far you have come and if you’ve made it to 12 weeks with no problems the likelihood is that all is well! Missed miscarriages are uncommon xxx

@Babycakes1989 I can't believe it. There's a baby in there! Dated me 12+5, so a few days more than I thought. Was such a wrigglers and it was absolutely surreal to think that it's inside me. Want to do it all again. Feel like a weight has been lifted of my shoulders xxx

Hello ladies hope you don't mind me joining in. Glad you all have had great scan results. I am due to have my 12 weeks scan at 13+4 on Tuesday next week and so anxious after losing my son at 18 weeks in October last year also he a MMC in 2014 a early miscarriage in 2015 and still birth in 2005 I have 3 gorgeous children aswell. So anxious and nervous for next week.
