About 4 hours old, looking small and squashy.

AornisHades · 03/03/2019 00:24

DH has a video of dd being handed to me and I can't watch it because of the emotion. Ds is about 2 minutes old in his first picture.

Celebelly · 03/03/2019 06:01

DP took one a few minutes after she was born, lying on me while they sewed me back up after my section!

Blondiecub0109 · 03/03/2019 06:21

DH was allowed to take his phone into theatre and take a picture of DS on the scales - seconds old, our first pic together was taken by the nurse in recovery

gingerfoxcub · 03/03/2019 06:21

First photos taken full stop were: with the first as he was lifted out of my belly, second one on the resus table as they were checking her.

But first photos I took would be sometime after recovery I guess so maybe a couple of hours?

Lauren83 · 03/03/2019 06:32

In theatre about 30 mins after he was born when they brought him to us after doing all his checks, the midwife in theatre took a few videos too I'm so grateful to have them

BillyAndTheSillies · 03/03/2019 06:37

There is a pic of DS on my chest, it's time stamped a minute after he was born.
Very special.
Like a PP I have a video of him being handed to me and I struggle to watch it three years later as it's too emotional.!

IggyAce · 03/03/2019 06:38

8 years later and I still treasure the picture my dh took of ds minutes old after been placed on my chest, his eyes are wide open and ready to see the world.

sighrollseyes · 03/03/2019 06:46

My poor baby was taken straight to NICU I saw him for the first time about 8 hours after he was born and have a couple of photos of him attached to machines in an incubator. My first proper cuddle photo was about 3 days old.

squeekums · 03/03/2019 07:02

Few hours later all cleaned up. I had strict instructions that there were no cameras during the birth

olderthanyouthink · 03/03/2019 07:03

I'm not exactly sure but within about 2/3 mins I asked DP to take a photo (accidental home birth, no one there to record time so the official time is a guess before the photo) I didn't take a photo for another hour or two till after we were taken to hospital and checked over.

welshweasel · 03/03/2019 07:08

With DS1 I have pictures from his head popping out of my tummy during my section. With DS2 the first pictures are when he’s a few minutes old as I was in pain so was clutching DHs hands for dear life so he couldn’t take photos.

RoseReally · 03/03/2019 07:13

DH took a photo of DD being weighed. I think it was minutes after she was born. In fact I think one of the (many) people in the room suggest he take it and I'm glad they did! I hate the first photos of me with her though. Doesn't look like me at all. Face was extremely swollen and I look like I've been in a serious accident. Get jealous of all the beautiful mum and newborn photos I see on social media! No idea how Kate does it...

CuckooSings · 03/03/2019 07:28

Dd1 was 4 hrs old as i was rushed to theatre.

Dd2 2 hours old as she 'died' then surprised everyone by being born screaming. It took 2 hrs of docs poking her before they decided she was perfectly healthy.

Dd3 10 mins old. I went into shock and a midwife took a photo of dd3 on DHs chest. Poor mite ended up in an incubator for a few hours (fetal heart murmur) and i have no memory of her birth so my first memory is her in that incubator. I really treasure that photo and am grateful the midwife thought to take it. Its comforting to see her first minutes of life were in her dadas arms

Myfoolishboatisleaning · 03/03/2019 07:32

Seconds old. Totally out of focus, doesn’t matter one jot. Q

crispsahoy · 03/03/2019 07:37

Ds2 minutes old on my chest, DH sent it to my DP's.
DS1 first photo he was about 10/15 minutes for the local paper. Our first photos were probably after them

katmarie · 03/03/2019 07:41

Think he was about an hour old, cleaned up a bit, wrapped in a little blanket, and I was having my first proper cuddle. I look a wreck. It's my favourite photo :)

everydaymum · 03/03/2019 07:44

DH took one as Ds was being lifted out of my tummy (c section).

Wingingeverything · 03/03/2019 07:47

Seconds old, its my favourite photo-DS looks shocked and I am crying(happy tears!)its real, unfiltered and I will treasure it forever!x

Scubalubs87 · 03/03/2019 08:00

He’s minutes old, held to my chest in the birthing pool. The midwives prompted my husband to take them as he was still in a bit of shock and wouldn’t have thought to take them. I thought I’d hate them but I love them. I’m glad those first few minutes were captured.

snowone · 03/03/2019 08:39

DD was born at 06.51 - the first photo I have on my phone on 07.02
I think DH will have some from earlier.
DD2 due on Tuesday so hopefully we will get some good ones of her Smile

Skywalk · 03/03/2019 08:41

With ds the whole thing was filmed on video so practically coming out of my stomach. It was an emergency section but more relaxed. With DD a few minutes old as my husband missed it due to emergency section.

endevo · 03/03/2019 08:45

About 30 seconds after she was born. My husband took them of her on me, I had no idea and didn't even think about it at the time but I love those photos now.

EssentialHummus · 03/03/2019 08:47

A few minutes. DD is in a basket being weighed with an enormous hat on her head, I have one boob out and there’s the MW who delivered her, smiling. It’s a great photo!

sh13 · 03/03/2019 10:37

I wondered would the midwifes take a photo for you if you ask of you partner an baby ?
Sorry sounds like a stupid question 🙈
