paulaplumpbottom · 06/07/2007 19:46

Its odd to start having miscarriages after you have one normal healthy pregnancy isn't it?

it about halves your chances of conception. dh apparently has super-sperm tho

paulaplumpbottom · 06/07/2007 20:00

LOL I tell my husband that. I have been avoiding getting pregnant but he always seems to manage getting me that way. I made sure the last time. 5 days before I was due to ovulate. Here I am again.

paula...sorry to hear of your m/cs, and i hope you get a positive result and a happy outcome. I've had two and it is very difficult, especially when there are no answers.

i read somewhere that an additional high dose of folic acid could help with some conditions but i can't remember the specific dose or conditions.

I have coeliac disease and upped the amount i was taking for my last pregnancy to 600mg a day. I don't know if it made a difference or not, but this pregnancy was successful and i now have a lovely DD.

there is a great pregnancy after MC support thread on here. it got me through some very bleak moments during my pregnancy and it's great sharing your fears and worries with women who've been through it.

Good Luck xx

jules....congratulations, that's fantastic news....all the best for the future xx

lissie · 06/07/2007 20:11

im taking 5mg as prescribed by the doc, plus multi-vits

daisyandbabybootoo · 06/07/2007 20:32

thanks lissie...I thought that was the dose but wasn't sure. I didn't take quite that much, but i did up the amount as i read somewhere that it might help with conditions where iron absorption was a problem (ie the coeliac disease)

paulaplumpbottom · 06/07/2007 22:45

Thanks Daisy. I have been taking Pregnacare which has folic acid in it

That sounds lovely. I'm glad you are relaxing its the best thing really. My day has been rather hectic. I haven't made it to the twinges stage yet but I know what you mean. You feel like you are going to start bleeding at any moment. Its not a good feeling at all.
