Thank you! We were really unprepared but we are absolutely over the moon and so in love!

Chunk9 · 23/02/2019 13:41

@PurpleFlower1983 beautiful!!!! Congratulations!!!! Embrace every second, lovely to hear she’s arrived safely!!

@s888 we’re having a girl this time! Our first was a boy, then 2 losses and now a girl- we’d have been over the moon with either but feels like the icing on the cake to be blessed with one of each! How about you? I can totally relate to your fears, is this your first? If it helped I loved childbirth with my little boy, it was just amazing, yes it hurts but it’s just the most wonderful feeling when that little one is placed on you for the first time. Hope it hurries up for you!!!xx

@PurpleFlower1983 congratulations! Beautiful baby!

I started maternity leave one week ago (due 19th March) and in the last few days have started to become a bit irrationally anxious about things - not the birth as been doing lots of the hypnobirthing practice and have lots of support etc, but everything else! Am I eating well enough? Why do I just want ice cream?! Am I being active enough? Is being this tired normal? What should I be doing with my time now that I've done my 'nesting' cleaning? Just feeling a bit down and a bit sad really - is that normal? Is anyone else on maternity leave feeling the same?

Chunk9 · 24/02/2019 10:59

@LuckyKitty13 I get where you’re coming from. I can’t stop eating ice lollies- I cant get enough of them. I’m trying to stay quite active though as much as I can! My nesting is ongoing, poor 3 year old gets a toy out and I follow him around and put it away! Even spent an hour on the drive yesterday cleaning the car. I couldn’t stop myself!!!!!

How else are you being active @Chunk9 ? Is it just pottering around the house etc? I don't know if I need to be walking miles around the streets?!

Chunk9 · 24/02/2019 12:53

@LuckyKitty13 tried to keep up some light exercises, squats etc, walking my son to nursery and back. Bit of walking on weekends. Nothing major x

@Chunk9 oh wow that's so wonderful that you will have both 😊 nice to have one of each! So sorry about your previous losses!
We are having a little girl also.
I'm not worried about the pain just the fear of everything going wrong. But I'm sure it's true what they say as soon as the baby comes out all of that goes away! Xx

s888 · 25/02/2019 12:13

@LuckyKitty13 what hypnobirth have you been reading / listening too? My midwife has suggest I do this for my fears but I just don't know what one to go for?

s888 · 25/02/2019 12:15

@LuckyKitty13 posted before I had finished!
Yes I feel like this too! I feel I'm not doing enough and then I get really down and feel is this what it will be like when the baby is here just sitting in the house. I think it's normal though to feel like this when you're use to working - well I hope it is anyway!
You're not alone though! X

Chunk9 · 25/02/2019 16:47

@s888 exactly! I know i
Dealt with the pain fine last time, they ended up advising I tried the gas and air when I was about 7 cm dialated so I could get used to it, I was handling it ok up until then! Gas and air is amazing lol. Yeah same, I’m just scared to have got this far and something go wrong!

@s888 how far along are you? I've been going the Sophie Fletcher mindful hypnobirthing since 20 weeks. I've got the tracks that I listen to daily - it's self hypnosis and absolutely fab!! And then I attended her private one-one-one course which was 6 hours over 3 weeks. That was also excellent - my doula came with my husband and I so she could familiarise herself with the techniques also. Can't recommend it all enough for reducing fear and anxiety.

Due the 31st of March can't wait to meet little one! Still working up till the 16th of March!

babystripes · 20/03/2019 04:29

Hey everyone good luck to all with the rest of your pregnancies I hope it goes in quick! I had my little girl on the 8th went in for an appointment with consultant and had an amniotic swab done which came back positive, mind you I had a suspicion my waters had been leaking that morning! I was sent straight to the maternity ward! And I had her in the early hours of the next morning a healthy 7.2 girl with a head of dark hair! 8 days early ☺️

CaseofEllen · 20/03/2019 08:00

Morning everyone! 39+6 today, had some period type cramping overnight and bloody show this morning. Hoping things will progress for me 🤞🏼 hope everyone is doing okay. X
