OMG I'm pregnant!!

This is a totally pointless thread but I'm so excited and needed to share! I'm 39, been TTC since September 2016 and had two miscarriages and a chemical in that time. I haven't even had a hint of a BFP for over a year now, but I've just tested this morning (it's morning here) and got this!! Don't know why I'm posting really but I just wanted to share Grin i can't quite believe it!!

Congratulations OP! As someone who struggled to conceive I know how much that bfp means. I really hope all goes well for you.

Thank you @TreaterAnita! I'm in shock really. I've got so used to seeing the blank white space on the test, I actually couldn't believe it when the line started to form!

Now just have to try not to worry too much about it going wrong, while simultaneously not getting too excited in case it does... ARGGHH!

Thank you @OhHolyFcuk! It's so weird to be pregnant again. The last time I had a BFP it was a chemical pregnancy and it was in January last year, so it seems almost too good to be true!

Thank you @feliciabirthgiver! I am delighted. Just a bit worried though because on valentine's day we went out for dinner and I literally ate everything you're not supposed to - oysters, pate, rare steak! Blush am I right in thinking it doesn't matter until the placenta is formed though?

@Secretlifeofme Don't worry too much. I'm 5 weeks, my pregnancy wasn't planned and before I found out I'd basically done all the wrong things! Couple of alcoholic drinks, taking medicines I'm not allowed to take now, and having a caffeine intake that is way more than recommended! I think it must be pretty common especially in unplanned pregnancies!

@faelavie thanks for the reassurance (and congrats on your pregnancy!). The thing is that when we were first TTC I was really careful and followed all the guidelines, but since we've had such a long time without a sniff of a BFP I think I kind of assumed I would never get pregnant so it didn't matter Blush

@Secretlifeofme - me too. I gave up the whole 'being behaved in the tww' thing about 9 months ago. Made the disappointment worse. I got a faint positive early Thursday morning, having been out for a few beers the night before. Oops.

Huge congratulations - that is a stonkingly clear line!

I'm 16DPO today, based in ovulation cramping and careful observations. Means my period should have been due around yesterday or today, after some recounting, so first test on Thursday was a bit early. Tested again yesterday. Going to resist testing today and see if I can get a stronger line tomorrow when hcg should be higher.
