This is a totally pointless thread but I'm so excited and needed to share! I'm 39, been TTC since September 2016 and had two miscarriages and a chemical in that time. I haven't even had a hint of a BFP for over a year now, but I've just tested this morning (it's morning here) and got this!! Don't know why I'm posting really but I just wanted to share Grin i can't quite believe it!!

Hi @VenusStarr (and anyone else who might be interested!) I had my scan today at 6+1. They saw the sac with the embryo inside but I was told that it was measuring 3 days smaller :( also they couldn't see a heartbeat yet. The sonographer told me not to worry and that it was normal to have a bit of variation, but obviously I am still worrying! I have to go back for another scan on 11th when I'll be 7 + 4.

I hope you're doing OK anyway VenusStarr! How's your pregnancy going? Xx

Hi @Secretlifeofme, I think they are so tiny at this stage, please try not to worry about the 3 days. I think it's early for your to see a heartbeat, sending positive thoughts to you for your next scan. Flowers

I'm not too bad thank you, 4 +6 today. Got lots of bloating and little burps which is weird but reassures me. Been having twinges but again they make me feel better xx

@Secretlifeofme I've had this and had both outcomes. Yours sounds much more like my positive outcome though! In July/August last year, I fell pregnant and went for a private early scan at what should have been exactly 6 weeks. I have ovulated really late in the past but thought this had corrected itself. I was only showing a very tiny sac on the scan that was really difficult to see, even with an internal scan. They couldn't see anything inside the sac. I was referred to the EPU and had a scan and internal exam, bloods etc there a couple of days later. The sac was slightly bigger but still empty. I started to miscarry 3 days after the initial private scan.

A couple of months later I fell pregnant again. Again I went for a private scan at what should have been about 6.5/7 weeks. The scan (abdominal) was inconclusive. She could see the sac and foetal pole and possibly an embryo, definitely not a heartbeat. Agreed to go back 1-2 weeks later but a couple of days later I had spotting and pain and went into the EPU. I had a scan there and saw a heartbeat and a 6 week pregnancy. I'm now 23 weeks with what appears to be a very healthy little boy! I've learnt that I definitely ovulate late, and early scans can be inconclusive but still have a good outcome. Honestly, yours sounds positive to me! Good luck x

Thank you very much both, and @coastergirl I'm so sorry for your loss. I am trying to relax about it but it's difficult!

@Secretlifeofme thank you, but I'm honestly ok. I was very pragmatic about it. It was clearly never a viable pregnancy, and my body did exactly what it was supposed to do.
