DS2 is due to arrive end of september, we have three names in the running, which do people prefer?

Benjamin (mainly to be called Ben)

Max (no longer version as don't like maximus or maximillian or maxwell but like Max)

Zachary (Zack) DH not overly keen but I like it as don't know anyone called it

What do you think?

Max but definately not the longer version.

Tinker · 27/06/2007 15:36

Loads of Bens, don't like Max too much, Zach coudl be quite cool.

IdrisTheDragon · 27/06/2007 15:38

I like Benjamin (the full version . I think DS agrees with me too).

Max is also a good name. Not so keen on Zach - although it makes me think of ZacharyQuack in the HairyMcClairy books which is quite a good thing .

nickytwotimes · 27/06/2007 15:38

Max is a dogs name
zach is too american
ben is lovely.

Fimbo · 27/06/2007 15:38

Max is the best of the 3.

I live in a village and Ben is an extremely popular name. I know of at least 10 personally.

nailpolish · 27/06/2007 15:38

you cant just like a name because you think its unusual or uncommon - my SIL did this and there were 3 other birth announcements of the same name in the same paper on the same day. she was right miffed

i think Zack is borderline chav. sorry but you did ask!
Ben is a friendly sounding name (therefore i like it) and Max makes me think of tall handsome gents (so i like that too)

Max my fave out of all of them

beller · 27/06/2007 15:39

I love ben..but cant really have it with my surname!

Zach is ok
Ben sweet
Max yeuch.I know a maxine and always call her max cause slightly better.Just don't like max although I suppose better for a boy than a girl

nickytwotimes · 27/06/2007 15:42

don't call him max - tis the name of snooty middle class kids who own ponies!

Marne · 27/06/2007 15:42

Ben- i know too many bens
Max- i realy like this name
Zach- slightly americain but cool

I would go for Max

bundle · 27/06/2007 15:42

Neither Max nor Zach cool at all, trying too hard for attitude. Benjamin, a top name and very versatile. Best on the list.

MrsSpoon · 27/06/2007 15:50

I like all three of your names, however I liked Zachary when pg with DS1 so that is probably edges it into the lead for me.

Lizzylou · 27/06/2007 15:51

DS2 is Ben, but is Benedict, so my vote goes for Ben

Naetha · 27/06/2007 15:51

Max and Ben are on our shortlist - unfortunately one of our cats is called Max, so thats had to be shelved even though its my favourite.

I love the name Zachary (Zack) unfortunately our surname is Thackray and Zachary Thackray sounds far too comical.

I do like the name Ben, but its a bit traditional and over-used. Having said that, I don't know more than 2 Bens!
