As it says in the subject really, with your first pregnancy, at how many weeks did you look more pregnant than fat if you'll excuse the turn of phrase!

I'm 13 weeks, and although my belly is getting bigger, I can't feel anything more solid than fat (I'm probably the slightly overweight side of average, but hardly a tubby porker!). When will be bump be more baby than lardy?

berolina · 24/06/2007 16:42

I had a bump-that-made-people-wonder at about 15 weeks, but I did weigh 7 1/2 stone pre-that pg (don't worry, I don't any more ).

QueenofBleach · 24/06/2007 16:42

lulumama · 24/06/2007 16:43

14 weeks, doctor asked if i was sure it was jus t the one baby!

MamaMaiasaura · 24/06/2007 16:43

I have a small firm bump under my flabby lardy apron. Seriously tho am already expaning there. Think my body remembers last pregnancy.

jennifersofia · 24/06/2007 16:58

Took me about 5 months.

Whoooosh · 24/06/2007 17:05

Felt fat for a good bit but didn't put on a pound,or have a bump till after 20 weeks.Well that is when I told most people and they had no idea.
However,I then managed to put on 4 stone in the last 20 weeks
I am 5ft 11 though and a size 14/16.

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 24/06/2007 17:07

people noticed i was pregnant with dd1 at err 8months

even when i had dd2, my bump wasnt that big, and she shocked most people by weighing 9lb.

RGPargy · 24/06/2007 17:32

Dont really remember with DS1 (he's nearly 17 now) but with this one, i now have a bump that still could be a large pie eater belly. I'm on the large side too so people will probably find it hard to tell until i am truly showing.

I went skiing at 15 weeks and could quite easily have passed for being just a bit lardy rather than pregnant. I had to relent two weeks later and start buying maternity clothes. My mum however has said that each time she was pregnant she just looked fat for ages and not pregnant, so maybe it's a family thing. Definitely look pregnant now at 27 weeks, although someone did ask me yesterday what I'd had! His excuse was he didn't look at my tummy so didn't realise I hadn't had it yet!

LIZS · 24/06/2007 17:46

Some people still didn't notice when I was close to maternity leave so 6/7 months, althgouh I'd outgrown the waists of regular clothes by about 5.

hana · 24/06/2007 18:09

started wearing mat clothes at about 6 months with my first

BeachBunni · 24/06/2007 18:23

Coming up to 17 wks and still wearing some of my size 8 jeans, albeit the more stretchy ones. My mum was a skinny minnie too and some neighbours didn't realise she had been pregnant until they saw her walking about with my baby sis.

MamaMaiasaura · 24/06/2007 18:25

beachbunni.. grrr

BeachBunni · 24/06/2007 18:28

I know Strangely enough I hate it. Want to look all preggers and lovely and fed up people telling me I don't have much of a bump yet. Just giving me one more thing to worry about!

bananabump · 24/06/2007 18:40

I am 8 months pg and no-one knows! But I'm a fatty, so I just look extra fat unfortunately. Most slim ladies seem to look noticably pregnant at about 4 or 5 months.

GermanGal · 25/06/2007 10:17

I'm 21 weeks now and depending on what I'm wearing, I can look pregnant....or not! Small bump is definitely there, but only noticeably for people who know me well (strangers probably just think I've got a bit of a pot belly!!) .... A friend of mine was the same and started showing at 25 weeks....but we're both quite skinny.
And yes, I've been worried too, and actually checked with my doctor last week .... he told me not to be ridiculous, every woman is different and every pregnancy is different, and as long as the baby grows, there's nothing to worry about!

theressomethingaboutmarie · 25/06/2007 10:20

I'm 26 weeks pregnant now and started to look pregnant at about 20 weeks or so. I was in my maternity clothes from about 17 weeks for the comfort factor though. I was a little overweight prior to getting pregnant but my tummy had never been a problem area.

Nath · 25/06/2007 10:24

I went from completely normal to round little bump at about 15 weeks - have never been big and am still apparantely quite small now at 36 weeks, so everyone keeps telling me!!

Everyone is so different.......

kiteflying · 25/06/2007 12:29

I was uncomfortable in clothes at five months but only really had a bump at six months. Before then it was just a fat belly and quite spread around the waist. Maternity clothes seemed to help make the fatty-tum look more bump-like

Dawn2820 · 25/06/2007 12:33

Hi

I am 21 weeks pregnant and at the moment i am not showing, my stomach has rounded out and you can see its coming but its not in your face.

However my sis in law who is 27 weeks looks like she is full term so i expect between now and 30 weeks i should get my belly

MuffinMclay · 25/06/2007 12:37

People started noticing at 17 weeks, but I was tiny pre-pregnancy so it stood out.

It'll be much earlier this time.

Clydesdaleclopper · 25/06/2007 16:19

I got a bump that people commented on when I was 12 weeks. Mind you starting off fairly small and weeks of vomiting and losing weight meant it really stood out!

cupcake78 · 25/06/2007 16:30

I have never been small and I am quiet tall 5ft 9in so lots of growing space.

I thought I was showing at 12 weeks but in reality nobody could tell.

People started to seriously question it around 20 weeks (i think). I thought it was very obvious.

At 24 weeks some people still a bit unsure if I had just eaten all the pies or was I pregnant.

Now 27 weeks and have literally exploded in the last 10 days. People can now definatley tell!

Was very impatient for the sprout the happen and it never did. Just literally exploded.

Jbck · 25/06/2007 17:12

With Dd I was 6.5 months before you could say for certain I was pg, this time round I'm still looking a bit tubbier rather than pg & I'm just over 20 weeks. Had on totally ordinary work clothes today & anyone who didn't know me well would have no idea. I wish my waist would go tho' & I'd have a proper bump as it is it looks like one spare tyre at top & one tiny baby bump at the bottom. I've only put on 4 pounds tho' & with DD I only put on 15 in total, almost all of those in the last 2 months.
