I got La Roche-Posay "Toleriane" range for cleanser, moisturiser, spring water spray as toner and foundation - they are for super sensitive skin with no nasties, and after researching are recommended as being safe for pregnant woman as well as those with allergies. It's got the British Allergy Foundation seal of approval which is always reassuring.
I have got a body shop exfoliating face-wash which I don't think has anything nasty in it but need to double check...!
@sunshine1987 I didn't think about foundation either til I was looking at my skincare, then saw they did a sensitive foundation in the same range and thought I'd better check! I thankfully don't usually wear make-up very often but I didn't want to not be able to when I did want to...if that makes sense! Good luck finding one later :) I ordered mine from feel unique as I couldn't face going to town but Boots do the same range too.
I finally found products last year that were sorting my acne out (Mary Kay Clear Proof) but they have ingredients that aren't on the safe list for pregnancy so didn't want to risk it. My skin was awful again after coming off the pill in June (thankfully it was lovely and clear for my Wedding day though!!). I usually go for microdermabrasion and facial every couple of weeks which has kept it in check, but haven't got anything booked in and last one was before Xmas, as I know my consultant (who's also a friend) will guess immediately that I'm pregnant as my skin has changed dramatically again!! I've changed my hair appointment for end of this month to just be a cut as whilst things say foils should be safe, I just don't want to risk it, especially in first 12 weeks.
@MrsLBear oh it really is such mixed advice! The egg advice is now if it's got the British lion stamp on, it's safe to eat them raw/runny. I keep meaning to check if Feta is on the safe list or not as I read somewhere that it wasn't. But I wonder if the pretend greek salad cheese that's made with British cows milk might be? I'm being super paranoid about washing everything too, whereas before I might have gone in the kitchen and just grabbed an apple to munch, or just grabbed fresh stuff out the fridge to chop and cook with.
Today is awful for nausea and tiredness. I thought (naively it turns out) that morning sickness was feeling and being sick. This constant nausea and dry retching/heaving without being sick is just awful. And SO tired. I'm WFH yet again as I just can't get through the day still. 6+4 today I think, so I think it's only really getting started too. My digestive system is so lousy at the moment as well, feel constipated and SO gassy. I was hoping that the takeaway pizza might have kicked things into moving with the extra fat but nope...lol
Got my slimming world weigh in tonight, haven't told the group leader there as it's so early still, and when I spoke to the midwife on the phone they said they don't do anything to approve you doing it, but their website says you have to have approval if you're pregnant. So confusing. Still got a few weeks left on my pre-paid for course so will go to them then stop going I think, as it seems a waste to pay £5 a week when I know my weight will be increasing when I'm growing a Bean!
Have got a load of groceries coming tonight and added cans of fizzy ginger beer (the soft drink!), ginger biscuits and cream crackers. DH is flying out to the states on Sunday and I've already told him if this nausea and exhaustion doesn't pass, I'll be putting a grocery order in for loads of ready meals for myself for next week. I usually do all the cooking (and love cooking) but I'm just too tired. I've got extra rubber gloves and vented face masks as I'll be doing the cats litter box whilst he's away next week. I'm pretty sure the risk is slim as they've both only ever been house cats, but total paranoia!
Sorry this turned in to a proper essay didn't it!!! Can you tell I'm lacking interaction with other people....!
