I got one and only used it once doesn't make them hot enough

Smurfybubbles · 01/12/2018 16:17

It saved my sanity, would definitely recommend! When you're feeding on demand it's a pain in the arse to have to make bottles up and I never had the time to make a big batch up for the fridge in the mornings. Our bottles were always warm enough for DS and the initial shot of water is above 70 degrees so I don't see a problem with them. Once it's cleaned regularly they're fine.

Shazafied · 01/12/2018 16:19

Yes yes yes! It saved my sanity. 100% worth the money.

Shazafied · 01/12/2018 16:20

Be sure to only buy the TT branded proper filters. There are fakes online which are dangerous.

meganmc0301 · 01/12/2018 16:20

The actual best thing you will buy!! I couldn't live without mines and I'll be using it again this time around x

BareBum · 01/12/2018 16:21

Loved it. Life saver.

ZsaZsaMc · 01/12/2018 16:22

We were passed one on from a relative but didn’t end up using it because breastfed (and still going at 8 months) so I wouldn’t buy one at the outset. I had anticipated mixed feeding at some point but hasn’t happened!

mrsed1987 · 01/12/2018 16:27

Thanks all. Think we will get one! X

My midwife warned me not to buy one due to them not heating the water hot enough x

Stargirl90 · 01/12/2018 16:32

Sorry to hijack, can I ask a question to those with a perfect prep. I have bought one and have just set it up yesterday, it says to fill with cold water.
Do you use cooled boiled water or straight from the tap? Just curious as it obviously heats up the first lot of water but the second it's just the tap water? Therefore not cooled boiled which is normally recommended? Or is it since it goes through the filter it makes it okay?

ironinglady57 · 01/12/2018 16:34

Absolute life saver x

Treaclepie19 · 01/12/2018 17:11

@Stargirl90 the filter takes any nasties out of the water.

We loved ours :)

WhoTookTheChristmasCookie · 01/12/2018 17:34

Absolute lifesaver; worth it's weight in gold.
Especially during the nights, bottle ready to drink in 2 minutes.

0lgaDaPolga · 01/12/2018 18:22

@stargirl90 just use tap water. There’s a filter in there that removes any impurities.

I think they are brill, used one with my son and will be using it again with our second. A lifesaver when you are up in the night and need a bottle instantly. No messing around with boiling kettles and waiting for things to cool down.

Stargirl90 · 01/12/2018 18:24

Ah that's what I wondered, thanks :)

Lloyd1993 · 01/12/2018 18:30

HV told us the reason you boil the water is partly because formula isn't sterile 🤷‍♀️ Didn't use as turned out I was, and still able to, breastfeed DD.

WelshMammy123 · 01/12/2018 19:49

Our DD2 likes her milk hot so we just put two shots of hot water in and adjust the remaining water volume accordingly. We did the same with DD1. It does involve a bit more thinking which can be tricky in the depths of the night but not really an issue. I'd definitely recommend it.

tryinganewname · 01/12/2018 20:17

Hands down, the best thing I've bought for DD. I even bought a second one for the caravan.

Pigeoncat · 01/12/2018 20:19

It’s absolutely brilliant.

HaulingFreight · 01/12/2018 20:25

Brilliant, love mine, I even bought two one for upstairs next to the bed one for down stairs to make the night feeds easier

sohypnotic · 01/12/2018 20:58

Yes, if bottle feeding, get 2! One in kitchen, one in bedroom/nursery - perfect!

MrsChopper · 01/12/2018 21:00

Absolutely loved ours and never had an issue with it :)

Sabulous · 01/12/2018 21:01

Ours has been brilliant. I fill mine with cooled boiled water.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 01/12/2018 21:05

Amazing

riotlady · 01/12/2018 21:49

Best piece of baby kit we bought!
