New thread, perhaps might be useful to all post an update of history and where we're at now?

That's fab news @gin! Really hope it's your turn this time.

Hopefulforourrainbow · 16/01/2019 16:41

I've had horrendous diarrhoea this afternoon and vomited once. When I went to toilet just now I noticed a small amount of light pink spotting. Haven't felt right today and yesterday. Haven't had much appetite and have generally felt a bit yuck. Do you think I should be concerned?

Labmum · 16/01/2019 18:11

That's great news @gin! Fingers crossed this is your turn.

@hopeful sounds like you've picked up a tummy bug. I think the cramping can sometimes irritate your cervix and cause spotting but if you're in any way concerned ring your midwife for reassurance. Hope you're feeling better soon, awful being ill especially when pregnant, just try stay hydrated and take it easy on the sofa for a few days.

Hopefulforourrainbow · 17/01/2019 06:32

Hey I called and they said not to worry about it. Vomiting has stopped but still running back and fore to toilet. Worried about baby as haven't eaten properly for 2 days 😭

Labmum · 18/01/2019 08:54

How are you feeling now @hopeful? Try not to worry too much about not being able to eat much, babies are little parasites and very good at taking what they need from your reserves.

There must be a lot of bugs around at the moment as my DH landed home from work with a sickness bug yesterday.

I saw my midwife yesterday and unloaded all my worries on her from the past few weeks, she had a feel of baby and agreed with me that baby now feels head down so fingers crossed the spinning babies exercises I've been doing worked! We'll find out for sure next week. So now it's just a potential size issue to worry about.

Hey I'm feeling much better today thanks. Exhausted, this has totally floored me but tummy has thankfully settled. I'm a nurse in a children's hospital so surrounded by bugs all the time. I don't think I'd got over the cold properly before picking this up.
That's fab she thinks baby has turned. How big do they think baby is?

Miami81 · 18/01/2019 09:58

@Labmum that's great that they think baby has turned. I need to do the spinning babies thing.
Five weeks or 35 days from induction today and I really want her to be in position so that we can at least try for induction.
Otherwise it will be a section the following week which is fine as well, it's just another week that the placenta has to last for and that I have to get through.
Are they worried she's v big?

Labmum · 18/01/2019 11:43

At my 34 week scan her estimated size was 7lbs. Which would put her at 10lbs ish by 40weeks and as I'm not the biggest they're worried about her shoulders potentially getting stuck. Everyone I know who's had growth scans has had babies at least 1lb smaller than estimated by scan though so I'm going to see what they suggest next week and weigh up the risks vs. benefits.

@Miami81 I did just one day with a forward leaning inversion followed by a breech tilt (x3) then next day could feel feet up in my ribs again so it worked pretty quick for me but it could perhaps be because she'd been head down for most of the pregnancy so just decided to go back to her comfy position after her initial objection to me falling down the stairs. May take a bit more convincing for a baby who's been comfortably breech for the duration. Be worth checking if it's ok to do the exercises with your potential structural issues too as that could be playing a part in why baby is positioned as they are. 35 days sounds like nothing though. You'll not be far behind me at all, we'll have to set up a postnatal support thread!

@hopeful glad you're feeling better! Take it nice and easy for a few days, eat some nice bland carbs.

Horrible weekend. Absent movements. Scans. Monitoring. Think everything ok but my head a total mess. Not going to work until I see consultant weds pm as my anxiety is out of control.

Miami81 · 21/01/2019 15:52

Oh @beanhunter that sounds really intense lovely. I was in on Sunday also due to movements. It's all so hard. How many weeks are you now?

beanhunter · 21/01/2019 16:02

28 on weds. Have to go in tomorrow for another trace as they weren’t totally happy today.

Miami81 · 21/01/2019 16:17

Did they scan you @beanhunter to check fluid levels and placenta? Good luck tomorrow.

beanhunter · 21/01/2019 16:26

Yes and they were all ok. Suspect position has just changed but so anxious.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 21/01/2019 16:56

I don’t know why this thread isn’t coming up on my discussions anymore!

Sorry to hear you’ve had a hard time of it @beanhunter. I’m only 20+6 but yesterday had a day of absent movements. I was just drifting off in the wee hours and I felt a gigantic thump followed by a lot of wriggles. Hang on in there, you did the right thing getting checked out and I hope you have a successful appointment at the doctors this week.

I had my 20 week scan last Tuesday, most importantly everything looked fine and we also found out that we’re expecting a little girl 😍 long legs, small head weighing in at around 13oz. We’re both delighted and daunted at the prospect of the next 19 weeks.

@Labmum I’m smallish built and fairly short (although have piled weight on since having DD) DD was 8lb 13oz and had a very easy delivery so hopefully it’ll be the same for you (also hope they’re a lb or two out with their measurements)

AnneLovesGilbert · 23/01/2019 10:38

Hey lovelies Smile

So glad she's moved @Labmum, stay put little one!

Sorry things have been so touch @beanhunter you've had the most awful time of it, sending hugs.

Big congrats @Iswallowtoothpaste what lovely news, so happy scan went well!

Hey @Miami81 all okay now after Sunday? How've you been doing? Are you finished with work yet?

Sorry you've been poorly @Hopefulforourrainbow, hope you're on the mend and have had a chance to rest.

33 weeks here today.... I'm not ready!!!!!!!! But is anyone ever?

Hopefulforourrainbow · 23/01/2019 19:11

Hey feeling much better now thanks @Anne. Had 20 week scan today! All looking good. A very wriggly baby in there. Still can't believe this is finally happening. Midwife appointment on 12th Feb then another scan mid March. Hope you're all doing well

AnneLovesGilbert · 23/01/2019 19:25

Oh hopeful that’s wonderful! So pleased for you love. What a great day. We really started getting on board after our 20 week scan. It looked like a proper baby and everything was well in there and my general levels of anxiety started to fade a bit. We also had a massive panic about money one night and started saving like mad! But it showed we were realising it might actually happen so I completely get where you’re at. Celebrate tonight. You’re having a baby! Smile xxx

Babycakes1989 · 23/01/2019 19:39

So nice reading some positive stories on here. I’m 29(30 March) and had mmc last July at 8 weeks. It took 5 cycles TTC and I’ve found out I’m 5 weeks pregnant. To say I’m anxious is an understatement. I’m not intitled to an early scan and my first appointment (booking in) is at 10 weeks. I’m going to pay for a private one. Any tips on how to remain calm during the first few months would much appreciated! Whole new level of anxiousness this! Xx

Hopefulforourrainbow · 25/01/2019 06:49

Thank you! I'm so excited now. Looking forward to starting the nursery. Didn't want to buy anything before 20 week scan.
Any of you on aspirin and having trouble with heartburn? Pharmacist said I can't take anything for it while on aspirin.
Hi @babycakes1989. Congratulations on your pregnancy. I can't really offer much advice on anxiety. I was super anxious in the beginning especially when I started bleeding. These ladies helped a lot and I would look up the datayze miscarriage odds reassurer website too.

AnneLovesGilbert · 25/01/2019 08:08

I’m on aspirin hopeful and prescribed ranatidine for heartburn by my consultant. Rennie and gaviscon weren’t touching it and tbh last night even with the ranatidine drinking water was burning my throat but it does make it go quicker. If you’re suffering then definitely ask your GP for something proper. Lying on your left helps, ans propped up on pillows. I haven’t found a pattern with food or anything which makes it worse so it’s just one of those things. Old wives tales say your baby will be born with a full head of hair Grin

We stocked up on loads of bits from Aldi which has a baby event. Enjoy! Also made our life bandits with eBay (got an amazing pram for £60!) and facebook as we’re on a bit of a budget.

Labmum · 25/01/2019 10:23

@hopeful congrats on a good scan, so pleased for you. It really starts sinking in as reality after that point. Time to start thinking about buying all your essentials!

@iswallowtoothpaste congrats to you too, there really is a girl wave going on! Thanks for the reassurance on size too I'm not panicking about it quite as much as I was.

@Anne 33 weeks, that's crazy! How are your hypnobirthing/NCT classes going? Have you met some nice people?

I had my final growth and position scan yesterday and baby is head down although she's now turned back to back so I need to work on getting her turned round. Plenty of floor scrubbing for me! She's still measuring big but not as drastic as at the last scan which is good, they don't want me to go over my due date so I've been booked in for induction then if she hasn't appeared before. DS was a week early so there's hope. They examined me and gave me a sweep to try encourage her on her way, they don't think I'd take much inducing and are hopeful I won't need it so we'll see. It was a long day as I had a heavier bleed than they were happy with after the sweep so I had to go to triage for monitoring.
We've had a nightmare week with a poorly DS and disturbed nights (he's kindly passed in on to both of us too!) so I'm hoping she stays put until we're all better. X

@Labmum that's so exciting that you are really on the home straight now. Good luck with moving her around.
@AnneLovesGilbert it still feels crazy to be 33 weeks doesn't it.
We have started our twice weekly checks now for these last few weeks.

I have a psychiatrist appt in next week to discuss how I'm feeling. I'm gonna lay it all on the line re the stress of every single day and worrying about being in rooms with other people for early stages of induction and postnatal as well. I really want DH to be able to stay with me, but if we are in the shared ward he won't be able to. Hopefully the psychiatrist will back me up.
@Hopefulforourrainbow so glad for you.

Labmum · 29/01/2019 03:58

Hi ladies,

Just popping in to say she's here! She decided to put in an appearance 2 weeks early on Sunday. It was a tough labour with her being back to back but she's perfect and we just can't quite believe she's here.

Wishing you all the best of luck for your arrivals, there will be so many of them soon and I can't wait to see your updates!
