Getting closer to the time now and starting to wonder when and where it'll all start!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Ha ha, anywhere and everywhere is the answer ! I started 1) in bed when I woke up, and 2) on the way home from my last visit to the doctor.

Congratulations, it won't be long.

vodkaanddietcokeplease · 12/11/2018 08:45

At home, about 9pm 🙂 kept it to myself until the next morning when I told DH.

EurekaStreet · 12/11/2018 08:46

At the opera.

legalseagull · 12/11/2018 08:57

Conveniently sat on the loo when my waters broke. Smile

whiteonesugar · 12/11/2018 09:17

At home on the sofa, about to go to bed at approx 11pm - contractions til about 3am then they stopped and i fell asleep.

the next night they started again at the same time and he was born the next afternoon!

Jagblue · 12/11/2018 09:21

My waters broke that was the first sign.

DramaAlpaca · 12/11/2018 09:24

I was in bed. A mild contraction woke me at about 3am. I managed to go back to sleep but was woken again by another one a couple of hours later.

Babdoc · 12/11/2018 09:26

DD1 - when my waters broke, while having sex on our final romantic weekend as a couple when DD1 was due the following weekend!
DD2 - after 12 hours of a horrendous stomach bug, hosing at both ends, suddenly realised the gut cramps were coming at regular 3 minute intervals...!
Hope yours is a bit less dramatic, OP! Good luck, and best wishes for a safe delivery.

ParkheadParadise · 12/11/2018 09:28

With dd1in bed
Dd2 my water's broke in the car park of my mum's care home. Luckily I made it to hospital just in time.

OutPinked · 12/11/2018 09:35

I was overdue with my first three so had the stretch and sweep and stayed close to home as a result. Started with contractions within 24 hours and they were all born within 48 hours, it worked wonderfully for me.

Wanttomakemincepies · 12/11/2018 09:38

In the pub meeting up with NCT mums. I finished my cake and coffee before going home. Waters didn't break until he crowned.

MasterSensei · 12/11/2018 09:41

Mine broke in the middle of the night. I had a stomach ache so got up for some food and wet the floor 🤣
Contractions started a couple hours later.
Looking back now though I think id actually been in early labour for a couple days I'd had an uncomfortable stomach ache for two days before that kept coming and going.

Sprintfinish · 12/11/2018 19:07

Quite the mixture there! It's exciting to think could happen at any time Grin

I was at work talking to some students when i felt a pop and some of my waters went.

I had scoured mumsnet for tales of going into labout at work, as my workplace is an hour from home, and had reassured myself that my primal, subconscious body would not allow me to go into labour so far from my 'safe place'.

I was on a hike and had stabbing back pain. Didn't think anything of it and carried on the walk. In the car home I had some period pains but just thought may be I'd overdone it. I went home, made dinner, had friends over and collapsed in to bed exhausted at 1am.

Woke up at 3am desperate for the loo. Got to the bathroom and my waters exploded everywhere!

annlee3817 · 12/11/2018 23:14

I was in bed listening to my hypnobirthing cd, as I woke up at the end of the cd I noticed I was getting dull period pains every 8-11 mins, then when I got up to pre and got back Into bed my waters started to leak, DD arrived six hours later :)

Liz3891 · 12/11/2018 23:24

Mine started in the induction suite at the hospital. Not very exciting ! But my waters breaking was very dramatic and film like with a sudden massive gush as I stood up.

StarfishSandwich · 13/11/2018 04:44

In the gym at 40+5, I was having some mild tightenings and I remember texting DH saying I’m a bit crampy, shall I just keep going?’ (FWIW I did and had the best workout I’d done in weeks!) I continued to have mild period pains and my waters broke that night in bed. DS wasm’t born until 38 hours later though 🙄

Iloveyoubaby26 · 13/11/2018 05:14

In bed woke up with period like pains at 10am, waters broke at 8pm my son was born the morning after at 9am. 41+5 went into labour the day before i was due to be induced.

Nitpickpicnic · 13/11/2018 05:43

I was in the hospital, listening to a midwife tell me that I wouldn’t feel the effects of my induction for hours yet.

She kept insisting for the next hour, even though I was doubled over in the clutches of mega contractions! Apparently everything I was feeling was impossible, and she was sticking to her script!

Alilwolf · 13/11/2018 05:54

I was in bed and woke up thinking I'd wet myself (9am ish). Long story short, she was born at 10.10pm by c section.

2isabella2 · 13/11/2018 06:22

First time I had been in and out of hospital with an irritable uterus and had loads of bouts of regular contractions. At 37+5 I had been having them all day but not much different to the previous few weeks until sitting at a friend's house from antenatal group with her new baby when one was suddenly much stronger, that was the beginning of actual labour.

With my second I, again, had been having bouts of regular contractions and had my 40 week midwife check and told her. She said maybe she'd see me in hospital the next day. Went to bed that night and the contractions woke me up. No stronger than before but extremely regular. She came 12 hours later.

Good luck, I loved the anticipation!

motortroll · 13/11/2018 06:30

In bed, in bed, in bed!!

Where else is there in the latest stage if pregnancy?? Lol

In all honesty probably the night before but those really early symptoms they're the san as all those false starts!!

With my first I had a sweep at 40 weeks and I was 3cm but I didn't have any real labour symptoms for 2 days!!

TheGhostOfYou · 13/11/2018 06:32

I was at home both times. The first time we'd just gone to bed, lights switched off when DP switched it back on, sat up and asked me what was wrong... I admitted my bump felt weird and tight, I had planned to go to sleep, about an hour or two later contractions were getting closer and my waters had gone.

The second time I was only 37+1, it was late at night, we'd had a takeaway to celebrate valentine's. I felt weird but thought I was just full and needed to pee. I made my way upstairs, got to the bathroom door and felt wet all of a sudden, I thought I'd wet myself, but no it was my waters! Contractions came an hour after that and Baby was born less than 3 hours after the first contraction at 37+2.

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 13/11/2018 06:34

Dc1 waters went in the pub!

Dc2 waters went while I was in bed.
