Getting closer to the time now and starting to wonder when and where it'll all start!

...but I'd had not one BH or plug with either of them, so was caught out both times.

AdoreTheBeach · 13/11/2018 06:47

I have three DC. Sadly had to be induced for first two and was terrors with DC3 not know what to expect. Had day walking up and down hills in fairly hot day (keeping DC2 entertained). Felt twinges while washing up that evening, more cramps during night so took a bath. Then woke DH to take me to hospital. Longer story than that (DH, rugby, bacon sandwich) but will leave it there.

Don’t worry. It’ll all turn out ok

At home x4
DC1 and DC2 labours both started during the day. I was washing up with one and ironing with the other. Just mild but regular contractions.
DC3 and DC4 was in bed in the middle of the night with both and waters broke loudly which woke me up.
Looking back I had massive nesting instinct the day before labour with my four and was urged clean all hard floors on my hands and knees, wash blinds and curtains, scrub the top of cupboards etc. Certainly out of character for me!

I woke up in the middle of the night with period type pains not realising initially what it was. Husband woke up, said I was breathing funny so must be the start of labour. Never seen him jump out of bed so fast... hahaha

TwittleBee · 13/11/2018 09:30

Had a feeling week before that it was getting closer, BHs had been getting more intense. The day before my water's broke was actually one of the most peaceful and chilled days of my whole pregnancy despite having to stop multiple time around town with DH as the BHs were so bloody strong I couldnt do anything but breath through them.

But realised it was all happening for sure when I woke up in middle of the night to my waters breaking all over DH's side of the bed (he was at work!) - I was 36+5 at that point so was a little worried.

TwittleBee · 13/11/2018 09:31

Oh and should add, I lost count how many time I lost my plug during that pregnancy!

SoyDora · 13/11/2018 09:33

DD1, Nando’s! DD2 at the theatre watching Cats.

Spanglyprincess1 · 13/11/2018 09:41

Woke up seven am with period pains. Wandered about....very very fast escalation into labour and by eleven am I couldn't stand. Waters broke in hospital then Ds arrived 3pm same day, within an hour of waters breaking. He was my first, long labour with your first is sometimes a myth!

Sprintfinish · 13/11/2018 17:40

@Twittlebee you have me thinking now, I've had regular BH for weeks but today they have seemed constant. Thought normal and not a sign of labour being close but guess it could be. No other "symptoms" or signs though.

It will all happen in God's own time. I'd love to go back to that day before when everything was so completely unknown to me.

TrickyKid · 13/11/2018 18:03

In bed trying to get to sleep.

Alilwolf · 13/11/2018 18:05

Is it your first sprint?

silkpyjamasallday · 13/11/2018 18:06

In bed at about 4am, I went downstairs and paced around the kitchen until everyone else got up. DP didn't believe I was in labour Hmm

Sprintfinish · 13/11/2018 18:10

Yep @Alilwolf this is #1 and such a newbie to everything! A lot of my friends are child free so baby chat is not something I've ever really been involved with.

Out walking DDogs. Felt a few mild back pains.
DD was born 36hrs later by EMCS after a long and fairly horrible back to back labour.

Alilwolf · 13/11/2018 18:14

In hindsight *do not do this I moved the sofa to clean under it (because that's like important and stuff) and then had a placental rupture. No idea if that's what caused it. Don't expect doctors can say it was because she went demented cleaning the house. But DO NO DO SHIT LIKE THAT.

Alilwolf · 13/11/2018 18:17

Aw, it's lovely it's your first! And thanks for sharing with us!! It's so much waiting and you just want to know that they're ok! They'll be fabulous. You'll never sleep again lol, but good luck. Hope it's not too painful. Mine was a c section and I don't particularly remember the pain. :)

Alilwolf · 13/11/2018 18:20

To be honest, I've had more painful things unfortunately than birth, so don't worry about that bit. And if is painful then just yell for your Mammy lol. You'll be totally fine! When are you due?

rainraingoawayrainraingoaway · 13/11/2018 18:41

6am on a Sunday just starting an 8 hour shift at work. Was having mild contractions but was only 34 week so thought braxton hicks and I refused to leave until 10am when my manager took my phone and rang DH to pick me up! I still didn't believe it was real labour and didn't go to hospital until my DParents forced me too at half 7pm, by this point I had to be carried down 3 flights of stairs (living in a flat at the time, my poor DDad and DH!) as I was in too much pain to walk! DS didn't decide to show his face until gone lunchtime the next day.

Yerroblemom1923 · 13/11/2018 18:44

My waters broke at work on my last day at 38 weeks! Came home and baby arrived 3 hours later.
I was hoping for 2 weeks of Jezza Kyle!
