I am so grateful to be pregnant, I really am. I can't wait to meet this baby and it is 100% loved... but my god I hate early pregnancy.

I am 9+5, have been nauseous and fainty since bfp, I have had thrush twice, now possibly have a uti. I have put on far too much weight already due to existing on carbs. I'm tired, spotty, greasy, hormonal and generally feel fucking shit. I am nervous all the time whether the baby is ok, and time is moving so so slowly. I am also worrying about my dd (5) and how much the pregnancy is impacting on her already and trying constantly to keep normality for her. I'm just exhausted and being a shit wife to dh to boot. I look fat not pregnant and really don't like what I see at the minute.

I just want to skip to the bit in the middle when I feel more human and start to feel baby move. I loved that bit with dd.

If you are having a rough 1st trimester, feel free to let it all out. I will not judge.

More rage when I got home just now. He’s watching the football with a beer. I could smell the beer from the driveway. And today’s dinner? PORK WITH GINGER AND SOY STIFRY. What the actual fuck? Who would want to eat that disgusting shite? I said I’m having a batchelors pasta n sauce and THAT IS ALL. Vom

Stormwhale · 06/11/2018 18:21

Oh god the cooking smells. I had to hide in the bedroom for hours when dh made a Thai green curry. The smell was so fucking strong it starting coming in the bedroom window. Deep breathing with my head over a bucket for fucking ages.

You lot are stars. You have made me feel so much better about hating it so much.

Is anyone else absolutely not willing to dtd at the minute? The thought of being juggled around makes me want to throw up everywhere.

@Caprisunorange I couldn't handle that shit!

I live in New Zealand and the one thing I keep craving is findus crispy pancakes and you can't get them over here! ! The injustice! !

Caprisunorange · 06/11/2018 18:25

DTD?! Ha ha ha ha ha

I’d rather wallow in my pukey misery. No one is touching me for a long time. I’ll puke on them.

Minihappybaker · 06/11/2018 18:26

@stormwhale haha NOT A CHANCE! my poor hubby must have blue balls but I wouldn't even entertain the idea at the mo! 😣😣😣

AuntMarch · 06/11/2018 21:07

I was starting to think I'm just a wimp as my friend seemed to love being pregnant. Thank you for convincing me it is her that is the weird one!

Stormwhale · 06/11/2018 21:52

@AuntMarch - ah, you have encountered the lesser spotted glowy pregnant woman. I have to say I have never met one. I actually thought it was total bullshit sold to us to ensure we continued the species. You are definitely not the odd one out, all my friends hate pregnancy too.

TwittleBee · 06/11/2018 22:26

Please tell me someone else has lactating boobs already!?

Onestep2 · 06/11/2018 23:11

@stormwhale @auntmarch who are these beautiful glowing pregnant mothers? Do they exist? Are they a myth to lure us into pregnancy? Hahaha

As for DTD.... no. No. Don't touch me please. But play with my back till I fall asleep. And don't talk or breathe too loud. Okay night babe. Love your pregnant wife.

Tadda · 07/11/2018 03:30

Dtd! Ha!The convo's me and my other half have had!

I made a mistake of buying him a lighthearted 'dad to be - what to expect' book when I was expecting DD1 - and he went straight to the sex bit that talked about me hitting a 'sweet spot' in my 2nd/3rd trimester and that was the ONLY bit he seems to have read! Now 31 weeks with DD2.....'Soooo, when's this going to happen....' is the question....!!!???

NEVER dickhead! - DONT FUCKING TOUCH ME!!!! (or something slightly more loving..... :) )

Stormwhale · 07/11/2018 07:17

@twittlebee - I'm not lactating yet, but they are getting weirdly sweaty if that helps?

Minihappybaker · 07/11/2018 07:33

Ah sweaty boobs, yep me too and mine are a weird pointy shape as well. So sexy, NOT!

gimmeadoughnut123 · 07/11/2018 07:41

I'm a bit late to this party. I'm nearly 8 weeks now and I feel awful. I'm SO tired, feel nauseous all day, a hormonal mess that's set off by the tiniest of things. My poor husband has been treading on egg shells. Cooking smells are a nightmare especially as my office is located next to the work kitchen, where two days ago some inconsiderate FOOL microwaved a salmon curry. Honestly?!?!
I nearly called in sick today because I'm so exhausted but I'm going to see how I go. I'm so excited about being pregnant, I've wanted this for so long and it took us 12 months of trying. I just can't wait for the second trimester so I can 1) stop being so nervous about if baby is ok 2) tell people 3) maybe feel better, but at the very least tell people not to microwave their fish near me

MeteorMedow · 07/11/2018 07:59

🙈😞
Hope you don’t mind me crashing (not pregnant).
DP and I get married early next year and are planning to TTC immediately after. Both so excited and really want a family but I have a horrible phobia of vomiting/nausea that’s followed me since childhood and on the occasion I think I’m gonna vom (haven’t actually since I was about 10) I totally shut down and have horrible panic/anxiety attacks.

We so want to start a family but I’m bloody terrified of the early side effects - DP is a doctor and do much more practical than me about it all.

Reading what you ladies are going through makes my mouth drop, how can you function like this? Go to work, the supermarket, look after younger children 😵

JellycatElfie · 07/11/2018 08:22

With my first pregnancy I wasn’t very nauseous and was actually only sick once. My second pregnancy was much much harder and I do look back and wonder how the hell ive got to currently 37 weeks!!! Not everyone has it bad though,

TwittleBee · 07/11/2018 08:50

Stormwhale cant say I have had sweaty boobs yet! Might have to get my pads out though as keep feeling leaks (deffo milk too as seen it come out when in the bath)

MeteorMedow my high school best friend had the same issue as you. I know how hard that phobia can be from witnessing her struggles. Honestly, most women aren't actually sick, just nauseous. I am on an ante-natal thread atm and most women on there are actually worried because they havent even got the nauseous symptom.

Tadda · 07/11/2018 09:02

@MeteorMedow - The nauseous symptoms are a healthy sign that your hormones are well and truly kicking in (that's what I constantly told myself while staring at the toilet floor/wall!) I'd say I had less of a phobia and more of a fear of physically being sick when I was younger, but that went with a really nasty bug that when I was sick, I felt better....

But a phobia is a phobia - look into having a chat possible with a professional about how to switch your thinking? That's what worked for me anyway -

Congrats on your Marriage!!

Onestep2 · 07/11/2018 11:10

@gimmieadoughnut123 a salmon curry? Euggghhh naw nawww that's NOT okay even without being pregnant I would have been spewing! In work? Awww hell no!! Yuck.

@meteormedow it comes and goes the sicky feeling and so far I've been able to get on with life fine, but when it is bad you remember why you feel that way and that there is a tiny life form growing inside you and you remember you are a superhero. Then you don't mind as much!!

jacquejacque · 07/11/2018 11:11

Guys, I've just eaten a ham baguette at 11am and IT'S STAYING DOWN.

Already text DH with emergency baguette and ham order from Tesco later!

Noodella18 · 07/11/2018 11:57

@jacquejacque nice work!! Great to hear! I've found the last couple of days that I will have a patch of about 3 non-nauseous hours after lunch, so experimenting today with eating loads early on and including lots of fat and protein and that hopefully keeping my blood sugars more stable... Seems to be working so far! 3 slices of toast with peanut butter and marmite, an apple and a chocolate cookie demolished so far, ready meal chili with rice lined up for around 1pm, YES. Good luck with your ham baguette tactics!

Caprisunorange · 07/11/2018 12:26

I’m on the McDonald’s. Good luck all

Tadda · 07/11/2018 12:44

@Caprisunorange Burger king! Honestly, I never (and can't eat the bread), but DH bought a 'Double King' and omg...this thing had cheese, several pickles, some sort of mustard sauce......DH is lucky he kept his fingers I swiped it off him so fast!

On the down side today am having to have a fruit/prune/lactulose afternoon......

Caprisunorange · 07/11/2018 12:48

LOL at prune afternoon

Noodella18 · 07/11/2018 12:51

@caprisunorange @tadda YES TO THE DIRTY FOOD! I love it. Omg I'm really considering sacking off the chilli and going to get a burger for lunch instead...
