I am so grateful to be pregnant, I really am. I can't wait to meet this baby and it is 100% loved... but my god I hate early pregnancy.

I am 9+5, have been nauseous and fainty since bfp, I have had thrush twice, now possibly have a uti. I have put on far too much weight already due to existing on carbs. I'm tired, spotty, greasy, hormonal and generally feel fucking shit. I am nervous all the time whether the baby is ok, and time is moving so so slowly. I am also worrying about my dd (5) and how much the pregnancy is impacting on her already and trying constantly to keep normality for her. I'm just exhausted and being a shit wife to dh to boot. I look fat not pregnant and really don't like what I see at the minute.

I just want to skip to the bit in the middle when I feel more human and start to feel baby move. I loved that bit with dd.

If you are having a rough 1st trimester, feel free to let it all out. I will not judge.

oh i havent had any pee dreams yet Onestep2 but plenty of very vivid ones about all sorts off things! So clear as day. How comes we seem to dream more vividly when pregnant?

Iswallowtoothpaste · 06/11/2018 09:33

I’ve been quite crampy so far this morning too which I absolutely hate! I know it’s probably just everything stretching but I still hate it and wish it would stop. I’ve got a poorly DD off school and DP who is turning everything into a game of top trumps at the moment! My back hurts, well his does too but worse. I’m tired, well so is he but he’s more tired. Grrrrrrrr. He asks me how I’m feeling and I just say ‘fine’ now because otherwise he turns it into a bloody competition!

Onestep2 · 06/11/2018 10:05

I get the cramps too! Mine are like a sharp stabbing pain in my ovaries if I move or stretch to far or if I sneeze!!! It gives me fear.

How can something so small (mine is size of a grain of rice) make us feel so bad? Lol

I have my first docs appointment on thuraday too!!!

Noodella18 · 06/11/2018 11:15

Currently lying on the floor of the bogs at work, I put a towel down first but it's really fairly pathetic. The cold floor feels nice :(

Onestep2 · 06/11/2018 11:33

Aww noodella I feel your pain!! Do your work know? Are u feeling better now?

I was hiding in work loos this morn sitting on the tiles wondering why I signed up for this (light hearted of course!!)

toomanyflatwhites · 06/11/2018 11:34

This thread is cracking me up, thank you all for sharing your misery!! I also feel like I have almost nothing to moan about as am not puking blood, moving dead cows or ruining a holiday BUT - am 8 weeks today and all I've done since getting my BFP is go to work (and achieve nothing) look after DD and sleep. I have been going to bed with her every night for 4 weeks (she only sleeps at 9pm, wish it was earlier!) and have even had to stop yoga for now as I was so bloody exhausted it was doing me more harm than good. Am so feckin grumpy I had a tantrum at the weekend because my mum served cherry tomatoes whole and I couldn't cut one on my plate 🤣

And @TwittleBee so nice to see you here after hanging out on the October bus together!! Sorry for your misery but congratulations!!

TwittleBee · 06/11/2018 11:38

toomanyflatwhites I saw your name pop up and was gonna say hi! See you havent named changed to "notenoughflatwhites" like we all joked about haha

toomanyflatwhites · 06/11/2018 11:41

@TwittleBee honestly one of the worst bits of early pregnancy is I have ow had to completely give up coffee!! Not because I'm worried about the effect of caffeine (I read Expecting Better and am convinced it's fine) but because I can't stomach it - and coffee is my life!! Am bloody gutted!!!

Noodella18 · 06/11/2018 11:45

@onestep2 Nope, still feeling shit, but back at my desk now at least. I'm 13 weeks and my work knew from 8 weeks because I kept on having to run out of meetings to vom so thought it best just to come clean. The shit thing is I have to drive an hour each way to get into work and it's knackering but they are a bit funny about working from home too much so I don't feel I can ask.

Sorry you're having to resort to loo time too! How many weeks are you? I thought it would have gone away by 13 weeks :(

TwittleBee · 06/11/2018 11:52

toomanyflatwhites Dont worry I understand! Strangely I havent gone off it though! The lady who serves me at Cafe Nero at least 3 times a week gave me a sly look when I asked for decaf yesterday! Suffering with the caffeine withdrawal massively though, are you?

toomanyflatwhites · 06/11/2018 11:54

@TwittleBee weirdly am not, it's more a psychological feeling of loss! Can't even drink decaf and half the time I can't even drink my usual herbal tea either bizarrely 1 or 2 cups of usual builders tea a day (which I haven't drunk for years, except for in my 1st pregnancy) seems ok though.
I do realise this is a VERY small problem though compared to some of the pregnancy woes!!

TwittleBee · 06/11/2018 11:56

toomanyflatwhites haha I actually cried when pregnant with DS at the loss of being able to drink my fav drink of Coke! I cried after seeing the bottle of it in the fridge made me sick haha. So I do understand the loss you are feeling, as bizarre and minimal it feels it should be!

Onestep2 · 06/11/2018 12:09

@noodella18 I'm only 5+3weeks so I know I'm in this for a while!!!

I've not told my work yet but I was showing my boss pictures of my honeymoon and swiped past a pic of the positive pregnancy test hahaha I was like FUUUUUUCCCKKKK i just kept swiping and neithrr of us aknowledged it but I know he seen it! Hahahahah I was planning to tell him next week after first docs appointment anyway but what a way to tell Ur boss hahahaha fail

curlypasta · 06/11/2018 12:25

7+something here, losing count already. 3rd baby. Nauseous, insomnia, weird dreams, need to pee all the time, grumpy, spotty, tired, immense prego nose, serious aversion to fruit/yogurt/sweet foods, tired, grumpy, tired. Love every second Grin

Caprisunorange · 06/11/2018 13:01

Oh noodlella you poor thing, that sounds like hell.

Today I am mainly sicking/ burping up cod liver oil taste. I have not had any cod liver oil.

LivingOnAPear · 06/11/2018 13:14

@Caprisunorange I know how you feel about the flavours. Last night DH put dill (ffs) on the roasted vegetables when I wanted them plain. I was so angry and couldn’t believe he’d so do
something so stupid especially when dill doesn’t really go with what he was making.

Caprisunorange · 06/11/2018 13:18

Oh god yes. My husband made a curry last week and I got into a rage. “Bleugh! Yuk! Disgusting CURRY. Who would want to eat that shit? It’s disgusting. I want a chicken pot noodle”

Poor bloke

Tadda · 06/11/2018 13:19

….and smells! I used to love the smell of 'LUSH'....I'd stay in there browsing for ages, now even the thought of a bath bomb makes me want to heave!

Noodella18 · 06/11/2018 13:46

Hahaha, love the cod liver oil thing! So funny! And glad to hear mine is not the only partner getting a total ear bashing. "Stop breathing, you smell funny!!!" Poor bloke.

Oddly, curry is one of the things that I can actually handle with any consistency. Just had a chicken jalfrezi with rice and peshwari nan for lunch (at midday, having already eaten a banana, apple, chocolate cookie and large cous cous and feta salad since only 9am!) Not feeling sick for the first time today!! Hurrah!!!

QuantumWeatherButterfly · 06/11/2018 14:02

Here to provide solidarity! I do not envy any of you. The hideousness that was the first half of my pregnancy is a significant contributing factor to why DD is and will remain an only.

I had weeks months of constant nausea, vomiting multiple times per day, appalling digestive issues due to the severely restricted diet, fainting fits and dehydration. I have never, ever felt so ill in my entire life. It actually sent me a bit loopy, I honestly couldn't function.

DD is an IVF baby, and in my more lucid moments, the guilt of hating being pregnant when I knew just how lucky I was really was awful.

lifechanginglemoncake · 06/11/2018 15:36

Wow @Tadda - the thought of the smell of LUSH just made me heave slightly. I didn't like it before but now it's just impossible to think of going in there. I also have problems with scented candle shops. I think it's the combination of all the smells at once that I can't handle. Any one on it's own would be fine but together it's awful.

Spargle · 06/11/2018 16:18

I gave up fragranced products, such as washing powder, shampoo, deodorant, etc in an effort to reduce my xenoestrogen exposure and increase my chances of becoming pregnant. I was getting So Bored of everything smelling of nothing. Now, having so many unscented things around is an absolute godsend. All the smells are wrong, and anything I can do to avoid them is an absolute blessing.

My digestive system has now stopped working. The food goes through, as it should, but I think only the first process, where it is mixed with stomach acid, is working. As a result, I’m feeling pretty weak today! But I have eaten several foods today, one of which was a fruit, and one of which was a protein, so it’s not been the worst day.

jacquejacque · 06/11/2018 16:25

Me please 🙋🏻‍♀️

I am 8+5 and am paranoid, tired, twingy, weepy, nauseous, and just a complete mess. My anxiety is through the roof and I'm struggling to get through the days to my 12 week scan. Oh, and I look like I've gained about a stone.

It's shit.

Minihappybaker · 06/11/2018 17:40

Oh my gosh mee tooooo! I HD a miscarriage a few months ago so I feel awful complaining but this shit is HARD!! working full time with an hour and a half commute is pure torture. I look like shit (like most of you not pregnant just chubby) I'm 11 weeks today and have felt like I've had the worst hangover of my life for 6 weeks now. I am so tired of feeling sick constantly. No appetite at all and all food is gross but when I don't eat every 2 hours I feel even worse so day is spent planning what I can put in my mouth that isn't going to come back up. Like someone else said once I have had something a couple of times I start to associate it with feeling nauseous so I go off it and can't bear the smell or site of it so I'm running out of things I can actually eat. Not only do I look a mess my house is a complete shit tip too and I am way behind at work. This feels like it will never end. Like OP I don't want to hear about people who felt this bad uo until 16, 17, 18 weeks! I can't take much more of this.

Minihappybaker · 06/11/2018 18:02

By the way this thread has really cheered me up and had my in stitches! @LivingOnAPear @Caprisunorange your comments about getting angry with your OH cracked me up! I can relate. I have told my husband absolutely NO COOKING at all because I cabt bear any cooking smells. Last week he made my usual 'favourite dish' despite being begged not to cook. He was convinced once it was in front of me I would eat it. I got so mad and cried and had to hide in the bedroom because the wholw house smelt so gross. Then he got upset because he had gone to a lot of trouble. I was like we'll I TOLD YOU NOT TO!!!

Ps I would have gone mental about dill on vegetables too! Bless them they are only trying to help but why cant they just follow instructions!?! 😣😣😣
