Talk about every stage of pregnancy, from early symptoms to preparing for birth.

Would anyone like to rant with me about how much early pregnancy sucks?

I am so grateful to be pregnant, I really am. I can't wait to meet this baby and it is 100% loved... but my god I hate early pregnancy.

I am 9+5, have been nauseous and fainty since bfp, I have had thrush twice, now possibly have a uti. I have put on far too much weight already due to existing on carbs. I'm tired, spotty, greasy, hormonal and generally feel fucking shit. I am nervous all the time whether the baby is ok, and time is moving so so slowly. I am also worrying about my dd (5) and how much the pregnancy is impacting on her already and trying constantly to keep normality for her. I'm just exhausted and being a shit wife to dh to boot. I look fat not pregnant and really don't like what I see at the minute.

I just want to skip to the bit in the middle when I feel more human and start to feel baby move. I loved that bit with dd.

If you are having a rough 1st trimester, feel free to let it all out. I will not judge.

Fab news ladies!!

So I'm pissed off. I now have heartburn too on top of the never ending nausea. It's so unfair I'm getting the first and second trimester symptoms together. I thought at least the first trimester ones would piss off before the second ones began. Angry

@Delilah that’s absolutely awesome!! So pleased for you!

@Stormwhale, fellow heartburn suffered here. Only get it when pregnant, was well into second trimester when I had it with DD though.

Thank you for this thread! I’m about 11 weeks (won’t know for sure until my scan next week) and I can barely eat anything, I feel nauseous all the time and get crazy heartburn if I do manage to force something down. Midwife said I need to up my weight, but I’m super struggling with food. And the tiredness is mental - also I keep crying at that Boots advert 😂 It’s made me feel so much better to see everyone’s stories! My husband keeps saying I don’t seem very excited and I really am - I just can’t express it right now.

Ugh. Just ugh. Nausea can fuck off. Was having a surprise day of feeling awake and more energy than usual (dared to think it might be tailing off). Then bam. 6pm and it hits. So done with this.

@stormwhale @toothpaste I was getting horrendo reflux which made it feel like I had a lump stuck in my chest and was making me vom. GP prescribed omeprazole and it was an absolute godsend, very commonly prescribed in pregnancy too.

Dmc2018 · 22/11/2018 10:46

I feel exactly the same way! I was sick constantly during the first trimester and am having time off work because of it. Now I’m in my second trimester (18+2) and the anxiety has kicked in massively! I’m scared about everything and finding it really hard to sleep or even relax. This is my first (AND ONLY) pregnancy - can someone PLEASE tell me it’ll get better when the baby comes?!

loulouruby · 22/11/2018 10:57

Do not worry! This is my first baby. 41 years young!

Pre baby I wore a size 8. Now currently 16+5 days and I wear a size 10.
Please please do not fret! You are not alone. I had awful nausea and within the first 5 weeks, I ate way too many carbs. LOL!! Crisps... crisps and more crisps! Carbs helped sooooo much!
Result => Bloating!
Even at 5 weeks I started to show and I could no longer fit into my jeans! It didn't help that I was sooo constipated.
My first Midwife appointment I could not believe how much I had piled on! Shock.

But, by 12 weeks, the bloating subsided and my weight has stabilised.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 22/11/2018 11:59

Haha you just have to eat what you can manage in those early weeks.

I’m overweight and have lost a stone so far thanks to food aversions and morning sickness! The consultant hasn’t told me off for it though so I don’t think they’re worried about it!

Iswallowtoothpaste · 22/11/2018 12:20

Oh and can anyone literally feel their insides stretching!!! Have been sooo uncomfortable today plus feeling a bit nauseous and my humongous boobs keep getting in the way (I was a 38GG before I was pregnant. Now a 38HH)

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 22/11/2018 12:25

I'm not usually one to piss on anyone's parade, but from someone who is having to go through another ERPC on Monday - no matter how bad you feel ladies, always remember how blessed you are. I'm sure you know already. But I'd give anything to be suffering from the worst pregnancy symptoms right now.

Stormwhale · 22/11/2018 12:34

@SpunBodgeSquarepants - I am very sorry for what you are going through and I really hope that you have a healthy pregnancy very soon. I will however gently say that we are allowed to chat to each other for support when we are struggling with the symptoms of our pregnancy. It does not mean that we value our pregnancy any less, or love our babies any less. It just means that we are finding it so hard, juggling other dc, jobs, marriages, homes etc, while feeling so poorly. To be honest, without the support from the other posters on this thread I would be struggling mentally now from feeling so goddamn awful for so long. It helps to be able to make light of it, joke about it and moan about it. I am truly sorry that you are hurting, but please don't try to make the posters here feel bad for their need for support at the moment. I wish you all the best.

@Stormwhale - oh I know, I remember moaning about feeling nauseous all the time too. I'm just feeling sorry for myself today 😊

Stormwhale · 22/11/2018 12:43

@SpunBodgeSquarepants - I really am sorry you are going through another ERPC, your head must be completely wrecked. I hope you have someone giving you plenty of tlc. Flowers

@SpunBodgeSquarePants I’m so sorry Sad

I remember feeling exactly the same whilst going through my ERPC back in June. Like you, it wasn’t my first MC either. You are allowed to feel sorry for yourself at this awful time.

If it helps any, there’s a pregnancy after miscarriage thread which is so supportive and helpful, even if you aren’t pregnant but are thinking about trying again, they’re an amazing group of knowledgeable ladies who have all been in the same boat.

I truly, truly hope you’re updating us with some positive news soon!

Thinking of you.
