I need reassurance! Iv3 had lots of spotting. Had a scan a week ago at 7 weeks that showed a heartbeat. More spotting today and yesterday so booked in for another scan on Thurs. I've a bit of cramping and I'm very, very worried. Did this happen to anyone and it was all ok?

I had a massive bleed at 10 weeks, which was caused by a sub-chorionic haemorrhage- a pocket between the placenta and womb wall where blood pools

I then spotted more or less daily til 17 weeks

DS is a happy, healthy boy, born at term, normal weight and perfect

Good luck and fingers crossed for a easy rest of your pregnancy Thanks

I had a sudden heavy
bleed at 9 weeks.....my daughter is now 21years old. Stay positive x

Babyno2mamabear · 09/10/2018 15:51

I bled every day for the first 9 weeks! They eventually found a largish haematoma which was causing the bleed, more like a bad bruise from implantation. Healthy 8lb7 baby born at 42 weeks, now 2.5 years old!! They scanned me 3 times until they found what was causing it xx

God, thank you so much! I feel better. Just needed to break out of the spiralling overthink going on in my brain.

Hi

I had some bleeding at 12 weeks and thought the worst! It happened at work and I was so fearful that I'd lost the baby. Rang my GP in tears who told me not to panic and to get a scan done ASAP. Scan revealed a perfectly normal, happy baby who is currently asleep on me now!

Nobody knows what the bleed was - could have just been from a small tear. Lots of movement going on in your womb right now...I had bleeding for about 5 days, heavy then reddy then brown spots.

Please don't panic , honesty- get another scan if you can. You'll have bigger things to concern yourself with once they are born - trust me! Like sleep! Haha! But it's all so worth it. Sending you positive vibes.......

Bled at 7 weeks, bit of a stressful pregnancy but my lovely, scrummy baby boy is nearly one.

I remember googling in search of hopeful stories too. Hope all goes well for you op.

peachesarenom · 09/10/2018 16:07

I've had three boats of bleeding but have managed to get to 29 weeks so far!

DeltaG · 09/10/2018 16:16

Yep, had a sub-chorionic haematoma with DS1, who is now 2. It bled on and off from 5 weeks until around 6 months. The cramping you feel is the uterus's response to blood; it is attempting to expel it, hence the period-like pain.

SecretLimonadeDrinker · 09/10/2018 16:24

I bled with both of mine. The first for a week and for three weeks with the second. DS2 is currently snuggled on my lap and DS1 is at after school club. Smile

I bled with all 3 pregnancies and all were ok so try not to worry. I think once you're worried you notice any little pain/cramp, you may not have noticed so much before. I think it is normal to get pains like that, hormones/growing etc. Try not to worry and hope Thursday can put your mind at rest.

BackIntoTheSun · 09/10/2018 16:29

I had bleeding at about 5 weeks as well as pain in my side. I have anxiety and assumed the worst but it was all fine. She's one now 😊

soloula · 09/10/2018 16:35

I had a sub chorionic haematoma at 11 weeks with DD1. It was such a heavy bleed that I was soaking through my pad in 20 mins when I started. Nhs24 sent me to hospital to get myself checked over because they were worried about so much blood loss. It was Easter weekend so I ended up going for a private scan. Genuinely one of the happiest moments in my life when I saw her wriggling about on the screen. Bleeding lasted about 3 or 4 days then I spotted for about a week after.

hapagirl · 09/10/2018 16:35

I bled at about six / seven weeks. Went for a scan and got a nasty doctor who said she couldn’t see a heartbeat so I should just get a t&c. This was not the UK so it’s a different system. I was distraught and she was horrible. I went for a second opinion a couple of days later while still bleeding and this doctor saw a heartbeat! DD is 12 years old now. No idea why I was bleeding but keep strong. Hang in there.

Busyfool · 09/10/2018 16:40

It's hard to give you reassurance 100% as everyone's experiences vary so so much however my story so far...
From 4 to 6 weeks I bled to varying levels & colours (sorry if tmi!) on & off. I then had a significant bleed & took preg tests for the next 2 weeks to see if I had miscarried- conclusive as negative - no longer pregnant. It was too early to go to hospital to scan at this stage.

Fast forward past the next 16 weeks, I went to the doc's to investigate lack of my periods. Again negative preg tests, clear bloods, normal hormones etc..
Finally my GP referred a scan at hospital to investigate further- they 'found' my 23 week baby, healthy & growing nicely - I didn't miscarry all those weeks ago & although we are shocked & flummoxed how doc's & nurses didn't spot it earlier, we are very happy & now at 26 weeks looking forward to January when I'll be skipping (ok- maybe not skipping!) out of work to spend time with my clinging little bubba 😊
Hope you're ok & don't worry - it's normal to worry about everything! Just take a day at a time & it'll happen for you x

ForeverBubblegum · 09/10/2018 16:43

I had a lot of spotting from 8 week until about 20, was utterly terrified but everything was fine. Apparently light bleeding is not that uncommon, and can just be a side effect of the extra blood flow developing downstairs.

Darkstar4855 · 09/10/2018 16:48

I had brown and red spotting on and off up to about 7-8 weeks, also quite a lot of cramping as well. Uncomplicated pregnancy since, now 32 weeks.

Fingers crossed for you OP Flowers

milney25 · 09/10/2018 22:05

I had spotting every day from 4 weeks to 10 weeks. Some of them pretty heavy bleeds. Every time I was convinced it was the end. I never got any explanation for it. But I do have a lovely 10 week old boy :)

LBNM19 · 09/10/2018 23:13

I had a heamtoma and bled for 5 weeks and I'm now 33 weeks pregnant. Xx

Pebblespony · 09/10/2018 23:50

Thank you everyone. I am feeling massively reassured. I know it doesn't mean it'll be ok but my anxiety has definitely decreased.

MASSIVE bleed at seven weeks, left a train carriage looking like somebody had been murdered in it! (Slight exaggeration but well, it was not pretty!). No explanation found and baby is, at 38 weeks exactly now, perfectly fine.

Howmanysleepstilchristmas · 10/10/2018 08:23

I had bleeding/ spotting on and off from 8-12 weeks with my youngest two. They’re now 5 and 6 and both stayed put until induction.

Howmanysleepstilchristmas · 10/10/2018 08:24

Oh, and I had first trimester cramping with all four. Apparently it’s the uterus stretching.

Pebblespony · 11/10/2018 18:46

Thanks everyone. Went for a scan today. All good, strong little heartbeat.

Ahhhh such lovely news 💖

Maltropp · 11/10/2018 21:01

Bled a lot for first 14 weeks, including two massive scary bleeds at 10 and 13 weeks. I was terrified as I'd had two mc's prior to that pregnancy.....but it all was fine and now have two enormous 11yr old boy Dt's stomping about and eating me out of house and home along wth their big brother. It was all put down to cervical erosion.
