How long was your second labour?

DD1 took 9hrs to arrive after being induced, and midwife keeps telling me that DD2 should be quicker.

So how long was your second labour compared to your first?

First dc was 17 hours.
Second I was asleep, woke up after waters went!! Holding ds less than 3 hours later. Same with third and forth time wise!!

First labour was around 30 hours (waters broke, spontaneous labour started then had to be augmented with a drip as it didn't progress). Second was 5 hours.

30 minutes.......
I managed to get to hospital but gave birth fully clothed

First was about 10 hours

First was 6 and a half hours. Second was 4 and a half hours.

After being induced less then an hour.

15 hours for the first.
60 hours for the second.
Don't believe a word of it!

First was 29 hours, second 13. So definitely quicker, although not quick!

First, 3 hours.
Second, 45 minutes!

DC1 - induced, 36 hours of labour followed by EMCS

DC2 - spontaneous labour, latent stage labour went on for four or five days but once proper contractions started it was about 12 hours.

This thread is giving me hope! I was in labour for 3 days with my first baby so really hoping this one will be quicker.

First about 10 hours.
Second 59 minutes.

1st my ds was 3days slow labour but from Hosp to birth was 11hrs (stayed in for 6days after)
2nd birth my dd was 10hrs but I was out of Hosp after 12 hours later

First labour was induced and I had my waters broke I was 4 hours from start to finish. Second time was natural an I was ten and a half hours but I went from 7cm to holding him in 16 minutes after my waters went! Xx

1st was induced 36 hours and forceps
2nd was 4 hours

First 13 hours
Second 1.5 hour

Luckily, because we live over an hour away from the maternity hospital, I went in when my waters broke so didn't have a mad dash. DP slept in his van in the car park and came in when my contractions started. He got to the ward just in time to hear the midwife tell me to start pushing!

I felt amazing after that labour, too. Unlike my first which left me feeling like I'd been hit by a bus. All of the hormones kicked in and I felt like I could have done it again!

First 12 hours, second 3 hours

2.5 hours.

First was about 14 hours, second was about 15 minutes (though I'd probably been in labour without realising for a few hours. But 15 minutes from when it was painful enough to wake me up!).

First was 4 hours and second was 35 minutes, woke up with a huge, very painful contraction and went to hospital - gave birth 20 minutes later!

My first labour was 17 hours, virtually entirely driven by a syntocinon drip due to severe complications.

My second was two and a half hours after the midwife broke my waters.

My third was an emergency caesarean at 35 weeks of pregnancy because the waters had gone, the baby was discharging meconium and was unable (unsurprisingly) to tolerate the attempt to kick start labour using a drip (syntocinon again).

First was two days latent phase, 22 hrs active. Second was building for about 14hrs, then active labour for 3 hours - much quicker, and more straightforward delivery.

Wow... sounds like this baby will just pop out! 😂 🤞🏼🤞🏼
