They say 35 is the peak I'm dreading it so I have one year more or less to conceive? Until you're classed as high risk pregnancy cos of age???

Anyone tried to conceive at 34 with success??

It's a gradual scale though, it's not like at 34 and 364 days you are very fertile and the next day you're not. It's just an age at which they did research.

Besides, every woman is different. I have several family members who got pregnant in their 40's.

explodingkitten · 22/09/2018 11:24

Without fertility treatmentz, I'd like to add.

jellybellydancer · 22/09/2018 11:24

I’m 37 and I’m currently 30 weeks pregnant. I was pregnant within the first month of trying too.

Straight forward pregnancy so far. Smile

explodingkitten · 22/09/2018 11:24

Sorry for the stupid typo.

Shmithecat · 22/09/2018 11:27

I got pregnant at 40, in the normal way. Casually TTC for a year. Perfect pregnancy. Spontaneous labour and vaginal birth without assistance. It can be done!

MissHemsworth · 22/09/2018 11:29

I know two women who are pregnant/have just given birth they are 35 & 39. Both straightforward uncomplicated pregnancies. Both fell fairly quickly.

Since2016 · 22/09/2018 11:31

I’m 34 and pregnant with my second following clomid. It can be done - just maximise your chances re. Weight loss if needed, low alcohol, no smoking etc. Good luck!

Ohluckyme · 22/09/2018 12:09

I don’t think this thread is appropriate for the infertility board, perhaps get it moved to conception??

A580Hojas · 22/09/2018 12:13

You sound a bit over-excited about all this. Literally millions of women have become pregnant over the age of 34. You must know that it's a slightly dumb question.

EmmaJR1 · 22/09/2018 12:28

2 babies 13 months apart at 37 and 38. Really quite smooth sailing but I do understand the worry. 34 isn't old and 35 isn't a magic number that makes all your hood eggs disappear. Can you get your fertility tested so you have hard facts rather than uncertainty if it would help?

IsabellaMoltisantixx · 22/09/2018 12:32

@A580Hojas

What do you mean dumb? I was typing it in a rush but I'm sure you can get the gist?? I've been trying over a few years and haven't got pregnant and only mean to say I'm more aware of age as that's another inhibitor. Every Doctor and Specialist I have seen always mention "under 35" so it's got to have a basis to it?? Why would they concentrate so much on it?
Why are you allowed to seek help with infertility if you're 35 or over rather than just be told to try for up to 6 months to a year

I was merely asking for success stories, Im turning 34 and very aware of it. Not my fault that Doctors put so much emphasis on age, doesn't help the fact two people over 35 at work have had horrendous pregnancies and have put it down to their age

I really don't want a "difficult" pregnancy. I've had a laparoscopy for endometriosis and since then have sharp stabbing pains that my specialist say is scar tissue which can be very painful and uncomfortable .

The capital letters, the triple question marks.

Your question was "anyone tried to conceive at 34 with success" and obviously millions of people have.

Aprilshowersnowastorm · 22/09/2018 12:42

I had a ds at 37 and one at 43. Op you have loads of time!

Chattycat78 · 22/09/2018 12:44

Unless I’ve misread your previous thread, don’t you already have two children? Apologies if I’ve misunderstood.

I got pregnant 3 times at 34, 35 and 36. There is no major drop off at 35. It doesn’t work that way.

ChristmasAccountant · 22/09/2018 12:48

I had my first at 35 (with fertility treatment), second at 38 (natural conception) and currently pregnant again at 40, again a natural conception.
So yes, it can be done. For me turning 35 improved my fertility!

QuimNiceButDim · 22/09/2018 12:57

You have a ten month old.

Conceiving at 35 shouldn’t be any more difficult than conceiving at 33, if all other factors remain the same.

Frazzled2207 · 22/09/2018 12:59

I conceived at 34 after a bit of a battle TTC. Various issues though don't think age was a (big) factor.
However two years later I conceived having DTD precisely once at the age of 36.

LillyLeaf · 22/09/2018 15:21

I’m 37 and I’m currently 30 weeks pregnant. I was pregnant within the first month of trying too.

@Ohluckyme agreed. Just loved reading this today while planning our ivf dates today. I started ttc when I was 34, no luck so far.

SuperSange · 22/09/2018 15:38

Should this thread be in infertility? It's a bit bloody insensitive.

RockinHippy · 22/09/2018 15:42

Pregnant naturally at 42, 3 weeks after stopping the pill & CKD Too.

It's happens, I know loads who did it after 35 & several like us

Ohluckyme · 22/09/2018 17:50

It’s a very insensitive thread. Please get this moved

Spanglyprincess1 · 22/09/2018 17:57

34 pregnant while not trying and partner living in different country but visiting and conceived at high altitude when on meds - stupidly low odds!

Spanglyprincess1 · 22/09/2018 17:58

Didn't see it was in infertility! Yeah op you should get this moved as it might be a bit insensitive or have a warning in title

Ohluckyme · 22/09/2018 18:05

Spanglyprincess1 thanks x
