little update....am i or arent i....

still have no idea....but i do have cystitis. Lovely. I ended up in out of hours after phoning NHS direct whom scared me with words like ectopic pregnancy, only to be told i have cystitus...and nothing mentioned about pregnancy except the same old, a line is a line, try again in a few days..for those whom dont know i got a BFP 4 days ago...and 3 BFN's this morning.

oh and can anyone tell me if they got a faint positive before but not then another for ages lol i am trying not to lose hope.

were the BFN's home or hospital/doc tests. I know my GPs test wasn't as sensitive as my boots test - faint line and frown from GP on GP test, clear as whistle line on home boots test.

Sorry to hear this. That is strange to have a bfp then bfn. What I would say.....and I do it without wanting hopes to get up....cystitis and water infections in general are very common in early pg and are often a first sign. Could you go to your doctor monday for a blood test to confirm?

i do have a urine pot and form waiting at docs on monday to send off to the hospital, though not sure why urine and not bloods...the faint line i had four days ago was on a dip test from ebay and have continued to have faint lines but i would have thought they should be stronger by now..nothing on clear blue, first response, tesco tests. I am so confused and yes i am TTC so this is hell lol, my doc said today that any line was a line and so pregnancy hormones have been detected but i cant understand why the tests arent getting stronger...i also feel sick, have sore boobs and hubby says they havent got bigger as so much fuller...get dizzy when i stand up, have no appetite, finding it hard to sleep at night..oh and cystitus. I am going mad i really am.

Along with CountTo10 wouldn't want to get your hopes up and everything BUT I also had cystitis very early in pregnancy (too early to test so didn't know I was pregnant at the time). Fingers crossed for you!

feelinbloo - urine,if pg, will contain a pg hormone called hcg - human chorionic gonadotrophin. even in small amounts this is traceable.

my problem is...i came of the depo injection in december last year, had loads of bleeding then had to go on the contraceptive patch to sort it out...which i cam eoff last month, had a normal period on 16th of may..but i no longer have any idea how long my cycle is...so if i am too early or not. if i have my normal 27 day cycle pre depo and baby, then monday would be the day AF is due. perhaps this should be in trying to conceive really, but i was hoping some whom are pregnant could share there experince of testing..when they got a strong positive and if anyone had what i have, a bfp then BfNs as i really do feel pregnant

You are testing v early on. Anything before your period is due is unlikely to be too reliable. I know how frustrating it is, but there isn't a lot you can do but wait. Good luck though.

yeah i know, its just with my first two, i tested with first response 4 days before and got a positive and with my second baby i tested at 2 days before, same test and a positive, but i guess that doesnt really mean anything.

It's very difficult when you're testing before af is due to get it right. I did a week of pg tests at various points during the day and kept getting bfn's, then randomly got the bfp, my cycle had jsut apparantly extended that month!! It could be that your cycle is longer than you think this mth and that you're testing too early. The last test I did before I got the bfp came up with the faintest of lines for a mere second then disappeared.

well the tesco test i did three hours ago does have a faint line on it again, but i dont know if that was there when i did the test or not, as i have taken it out of its packaging, so i will just stop messing about with used pregnancy tests and peering at them like a deranged lunatic chanting, i can see a line...i can see a line... and go see my GP on monday

thankyou i do actually really need that, my poor hubby he doesnt understand whats going on, he keeps saying..well are you are arent you? and has been subjected to many a pregnancy test staring, so i dont feel i can bamboozle him much more without him going as mad as me.

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but i did this and it showed bfp, if you have a look on peeonastick.com it tells you that this can give a false bfp as the chemicals react to the air, i will try and find a link for you

Have you tried clearblue digital. This is the one I used in the end as it's the easiest indicator. It either says pregnant or not pregnant - might be worth a go?

i know i have seen pee on a stick.com but i thought that was just for clear blues..will have another look

yes i tried clear blue and it told me in no uncertain terms that i was NOT PREGNANT though took ages to stop flashing at me. I was gutted and cried then dismatled it got all excited at the two lines inside then got sent to peeonastick.com and cried even more. then i did another ebay test the next day and got a faint line again. bah.

Ebay tests do tend to be a lot more sensitive though. is the line coming up within 3 mins?

I don't think ANY test gives a reliable result on dismantling, resist the urge, it will only add more confusion. I understand that the ebay tests (are these the ultra ones) pick up the HCG hormones very very early as well.

thats the piccie of my faint BFP on an ebay test that came up within 2 mins and is still there now...but all subsequent tests have been BFN, even on the same style tests.
