still have no idea....but i do have cystitis. Lovely. I ended up in out of hours after phoning NHS direct whom scared me with words like ectopic pregnancy, only to be told i have cystitus...and nothing mentioned about pregnancy except the same old, a line is a line, try again in a few days..for those whom dont know i got a BFP 4 days ago...and 3 BFN's this morning.

if the tests were from the same batch it is possible that the amount of dye was different. Have you done any others that are bfp apart from the one you took apart

feelinbloo · 09/06/2007 22:40

no, that test in the picture is not the one i took apart by the way, just to clarify. I have had faint lines, but i mean faint on the same style tests but none as pink coloured as that one. I did three of the same tests this morning, one had the faintest of lines on it, within 3 mins, the other two were clear BFNs

hubby has just pointed out to me that i have been drinking a lot of water before bed (normally a pint glass) in the last 3 days...i have been really thirsty lately, could that then be a possible reason why i am getting negatives from a positive? too watered down maybe? perhaps tonight i should drink a very little and test in the morning?

I used those ebay tests, and I was getting very faint postive for about a week or so on them before they got stronger. Use the first pee of the day and see what you get. Also pee into a pot.

feelinbloo · 09/06/2007 22:58

i dont have any left now after my mad three tester this morning (someone said they may be faulty so i thought best of three) and one was a faint line, fainter than the one in the picture below the other two are negative...i have one tesco brand test left...best to pee on it in its packaging or to take the strip out and pot test???

OP posts:
sparklygothkat · 09/06/2007 23:02

just dip it into the pot, and hold, it will get the strongest amount of HCG that way. BTW the digital ones need more HCG than most cheap ones so you can get a negitive for ages on them

sparklygothkat · 09/06/2007 23:03

don;t dismantle it

feelinbloo · 09/06/2007 23:08

so widdle in a pot, avoiding getting any on hands, and dip the test into it, instead of weeing on a stick...sounds good to me, will try that and let you all know how i get on. thanks

sparklygothkat · 09/06/2007 23:16

yes, hold for about 10 seconds. Much easier than trying to pee on the stick

xxkiexx · 10/06/2007 01:02

hi there,

sorry to just randomly drop in on you, but ive been having the same thing, faint bfps and bfns and i finally got my bfp after 3 weeks!!!!

xxkiexx · 10/06/2007 01:09

and also that test on your pic looks like a bfp to me

week one i took 4 tests on the wed and thurs and got faint + then got 3 - saturday morning then had 2+ sat afternoon.....this continued for 3 weeks (im a poas addict lol)

I think it may be down to low hcg, as i rang the local midwife on our delivery suite and her words to me were a line is a line as long as its there within the time limit! When i mentioned about they were faint she said everyones hcg increases at different times!! So basically never mind what the woman in the chemist says when you go in for your next "hit" of pregnancy tests, keep going and eventually those tests will darken!

xxkiexx · 10/06/2007 01:22

Look at my post from last week!

flightattendant · 10/06/2007 05:42

feelinbloo...any luck? It must be so frustrating, sorry about little hijack there, I didn't see it was your thread should have checked.
Hope you have a decent strong line very soon, will be thinking of you xx

feelinbloo · 10/06/2007 09:26

thts okay, i am a bit down as i got a great big fat negative this morning, i cant even imagine a line on it, i did it all right and nothing...so i have gone from faint lines to negatives now.

Feelinbloo - there was an article in the paper a couple of days ago about a whole batch of pregnancy tests showing false negatives. Kingston hopsital and a few others are trying to contact these women to let them know. I don't mean to give you false hopes, but it IS still possible. Good luck.

feelinbloo · 10/06/2007 09:33

thanks but those were clearblue tests and only ones given out at the hospitals, home pregnancy tests werent affected, thank you though

i am thinking that tomorrow would be the day AF is due, if i have the same cycle pre depo...and i will start an AF soon, if i am not getting even faint lines now. perhaps i was but it wasnt viable. i still have sore boobs, but i now have a cold as well as cystitus, so i am all blocked up and feel sick anyway, so cant tell if its still what i thought was pregnancy nausea (started nearly 2 weeks ago now).

feelinbloo, if you are not sure of length of cycle, do you think its possible you've picked up on the time you ovulated when you had bfp, ive heard somewhere they hpt test can also pick up ovulation. good luck hope everything turns out how you want it to be

saggers · 10/06/2007 09:46

feelinbloo, when I got pregnant with dd2, I tested as soon as I could, and had a few REALLY faint blue lines... so faint you really could hardly make them out. I ended up ringing the company's helpline and asking my local pharmacist. Both told me that any line was a positive, no matter how faint. And they said you couldn't get a false positive test result, only false negatives. I don't understand why you're getting so many negative results aswell though. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Hope this thread has a positive outcome.

feelinbloo · 10/06/2007 14:50

the only explanation i can think of for the positive then negatives, is a chemical pregnancy, so i was pregnant but it didnt work out...not enough hormones or something. still no AF but feeling crampy today so perhaps she will appear soon.
