Can't go on much longer I think. Due today and everything aches, can't sit comfortably anywhere, too knackered to go out and buy all the little bits I still need, but bored to tears here!

Going to go and stick my bump in the fridge

Anyone else?

I'm not pregnant but I do sympathise!

I was expecting ds during the heatwave of 2003 - it was truly awful.

Good luck btw

flightattendant · 09/06/2007 14:21

Thanks!

I have been pregnant through two heat waves. Go and find a nice aircon'ed shop

Nbg · 09/06/2007 14:22

am only in North Yorkshire lol.

Its sunny but not red hot.

Like Mercy I had my dd in that heatwave of 2003, then suprise suprise last year was a heatwave and thats when I was having ds and this year is meant to be the same.

Oh and guess what,

I'm pg.

flightattendant · 09/06/2007 14:26

He he Nbg, poor you Must have been bad. At least I will probably escape the hottest months, well unless he decides to be 8 weeks late!

Yorkshire sounds very appealing...

I remember my due date last year, 13th August.

I was sooooo miserable and grumpy lol.
You have my sympathies.

lulumama · 09/06/2007 14:29

you all need to come here, i have a mobile air con unit!!!

i;ll get making some flapjacks !

IntergalacticWalrus · 09/06/2007 14:30

Just think, FA the end is nigh, and then you will have a nice summer to go for lots of nice walks with your lovely baby! Also, no getting up in the freezing cold to do night feeds!

I really sympathise. I had DS2 last September, so spent all my heavy months in that horrid heat we had last year. I spent my last 4 months of pregancy looking like a sweaty barrage balloon.

My top tip is to get a washing up bowl with cold water in it and put your feet in it. It's bliss!

jinxed · 09/06/2007 14:31

im hot and bothered too and not even quite 16 weeks yet!

i had dd1 in the summer of 2004 and was pregnant with dd2 through the summer of 2005... someone up there doesnt let me be pregnant in winter!

Nbg · 09/06/2007 14:31

My freind was telling me yesterday that she actually lived in a bikini and sarong when she didnt go out when pg.

Fab idea IMO!

CarGirl · 09/06/2007 14:32

yep had dd3 Aug 28th of 2003 heatwave it was hell.

I slept naked on the sofa for 3 months with the windows and patio doors open - I was so past caring!

eating ice lollies and a bowl of iced water for dunking your feet in are fab. I also remember enjoying COLD baths........

IntergalacticWalrus · 09/06/2007 14:33

Being pg in winter is pretty pants too though. I remember with DS1, I had really swollen ankles, so I was going round in flip flops in November/Deceber. I was effing freezing.

It's also impossible to get coats to fit, so yopu spend most of the time freezing

NormaStanleyFletcher · 09/06/2007 14:39

Second what IW said - bowl of cold water for your feet - that really helped last year. Also luke warm baths and running wrists under the tap. Oh and a cold flannel on your neck

CarGirl · 09/06/2007 14:39

I loved my one winter pregnancy - saved a fortune on heating! Guess I just wore boots???

hollyandalice · 09/06/2007 14:41

I'm with you FA! SOOOOO HOT!! I am due in a week and we are in the process of stripping and wallpapering our bedroom (serious nesting!!). I am so sweaty and have drunk about 5 pints of Ribena in the past hour! I'm feeling very cranky now!

flightattendant · 09/06/2007 14:56

H&A you are so brave!!! Oh my. wallpapering!

I had that rush of energy about a week ago and thought it meant things were about to happen, then suddenly sunk into 'I CAN'T MOVE' mode again...

Good luck! x

Tell me about it.

Wearing DH's shorts and a nursing bra.

Obviously not leaving the house looking like this.

Any more signs of your baby coming? I'm beginning to think I've faked this pregnancy and the huge stomach is down to the copius magnums I ate a few weeks back....

hollyandalice · 09/06/2007 17:36

I put my pjs back on after lunch! They were the coolest clothes I could find!

tribpot · 09/06/2007 18:15

A lot of sympathy to all pregnant ladies. I was due 24th June 2005, in the middle of the most horrendous heatwave. In a hospital with no aircon (i.e. a standard NHS hospital!) - and then the weeks after the birth were sooooo hot ds never wore anything, just a nappy. Keeping him cool was horrible and I kept thinking "why didn't I have a January baby?" (I was born January). Okay, your birthday is often spoilt by rubbish weather but it's easier to keep a baby at the right temperature in the winter than it is in the summer Hopefully I will see the benefit in years to come when my midsummer boy has fabulous weather every year for his party ...

However, that is no comfort to you all now, carry on moaning - you have every reason to!

Princesspowersparkle · 09/06/2007 19:09

Went shopping today and within half hour was almost on the floor in M&S cos I was so hot. Abandoned it in the end and came home. Will attempt in the week when its not so busy. Ice cubes are the worlds BEST inventions. Ever. I eat them like sweets....
PPS (34+1) x

Slim · 09/06/2007 19:11

God, I remember this (DS was born in Oct last year, pg during the heatwave). Cold water for feet. Magicool spray to cool you down esp in them night when you can't sleep. I also spent as much time as possible in my air-conditioned office and growled at anyone who wanted to turn the temperature up!

lisad123 · 09/06/2007 20:16

It was 28 here today and we decided to take dd and my two neices to the park!! I hate hot weather and will be preggy though the whole summer
