Gone from the 95th percentile to under the 5th? Worried sick!

So midwife measured me at 28 weeks and plotted me on the 95th percentile
My little boy plotted high all the way through and came 2.5 weeks early at 7lb 9oz so it wasn’t a massive shock that she was going to be ‘big’

Went for a scan today ( almost 30 weeks ) for reduced movement and baby has plotted under the 5th percentile.
So worried !
I was seen by the consultant- they’ve arranged another scan for me for next Monday and then the following Monday, she said hopefully they’ll see growth but I’m just worried
Has anyone any experience of this ?
Is she just a little baby? Or are they wrong ?

Scan aren't necessarily wrong. More just not 100%accurate.
Midwife bump measurements are a lot less accurate.
I was measuring 50th until about 30ish weeks and then dropped to below 5th. Had an emergency growth scan and it showed baby had grown everywhere a little bit except the abdominal. I was refused another scan for another two weeks as they said that they won't see any improvement for that long of she is growing (such bs) and insisted I have a c section for restricted growth in the meantime.
In my gut I knew she was okay, the scan I had a few weeks later showed some more growth but not a lot, and then she came naturally bigger than they expected at 6lbs 2oz

I think 7lbs 9oz isn't massive, so you've still got a lot of comfort room for her to be smaller.
But the reduced movement would be the onky thing I'd say keep an eye on
I'm surprised they don't have you for multiple movement monitoring before the next scan? Especially if they think she's now under the 5th %

What gestation did she arrive at?
They have said to keep a close eye on movement and to go in at any time I’m concerned and not to hesitate! They were really reassuring and helpful I’m just panicking now !

if 95th wasnt from a scan then its not accurate so dont worry about the change. Only the scans can track that. i am having growth scans for under 10th centile but as long as baby is following curve they dont seem too concerned. Although they do seem to be intent on finding a reason why baby is small. As long as I am getting good care and lots of monitoring I am happy.

Yeah I did think this! I’ve heard a lot of people say measuring is inaccurate it just caught me off guard because it was always quite bob on with my little boy ! Is your little one still under the 10th centile now then? Will they let you continue to your due date or do they deliver early for a smaller baby?

yes and im only 30 weeks so having growth scans every fortnight with the view to induce me at 37 weeks (3rd baby) but if any signs of placenta not working or growth tailing off it will be sooner. I have a history of placental bleeds in this pregnancy though so not sure if my induction is due to small baby or combination.

Yeh these things are notoriously inaccurate. I went from 5th percentile to 95th and back up and down a few times until my growth chart resembled the alps!! Hope all is okay but don't worry too much - they are only ever estimates - approximations at very best!

I had this same situation: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/3332593-33-weeks-and-measuring-small-after-growth-scan-referral-for-apparently-measuring-big

I have since had two fortnightly growth scans (with placenta scans in between). The first showed growth along a curve but the latest showed growth has dropped a little bit (esp the head measurement) so they have booked me in for an induction straight away (I'll be just under 38 weeks so at least am classed as term now). All you can do really is continue to be monitored and take each scan as it comes.

She came 39+4 spontaneously, she also continued to grow on her own curve once born which was a other concern of the doctors
