Hi,
I am wondering if anyone else has or has ever experienced the pain I am getting. I am 31 weeks pregnant and last week I started to get a pain in my left shoulder blade/middle of the back area, it felt like a pulled muscle at first but has since become worse with sharp shooting pains. I have tried resting it, not lifting anything in case it is a pulled muscle, I have tried hot & cold compress/sprays etc but it hasn't eased at all, if anything it has got worse, two days ago it has become sore to even touch the area.
I have tried ringing my midwife to ask about it but she is away on holiday so I cannot get through to her. I am wondering if it is worth going to the doctors or somewhere about it but I don't want to burden them over something that might well just be a pulled muscle, as a 1st mum I have no clue what is normal aches & pain, or anything pregnancy related so I apologise for sounding extremely dumb :)
Any advice on this or what it could be? has anyone had the same? Shall I go to the doctors?
Thanks in advance & sorry for the long post :)

Hopefully you are feeling better but left shoulder pain can be a sign of referred liver pain which can. E caused by HELLP syndrome.

do you have any other symptoms - dark urine, feeling or being sick?

This is the post which saved my life and that is my daughter 10years ago! www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/440848-omg-heartburn-from-hell-advice-please

I don't want to worry you and I am sure you are fine but might be worth getting checked over.

Please ring your midwife or gp surgery ASAP.
Left shoulder pain can be significant in pregnancy and while it is more likely a pulled muscle you do need to be seen

Still in pain, only other pain or symptoms i have been getting is a headache and feeling a bit breathless but I put them down to a cold that is going around.
Am I guessing it better just to go to my doctors just to be on the safe side?

Yes, those symptoms may just be due to a cold, but please please get seen x

A headache can be a sign of HELLP so please do get checked out to be on the safe side

Definitely get seen, better safe than sorry. Those are all symptoms which can indicate an issue. Hopefully they’re nothing but for your health and peace of mind, get checked out for sure.
