Epu or not?

7 weeks pregnant.

Started bleeding yesterday, enough to need a pad but way lighter than a period. I had cramps earlier but they've gone now.

When I go to the loo there's blood at the bottom of the bowl like when you pee on your period.

Is it worth me ringing the epu? Or just waiting to see if this develops? I'm aware there's nothing they can do if this is a miscarriage :(

I'd absolutely ring EPU, it's definitely worth getting checked out! Xx

dinosaurkisses · 30/07/2018 01:25

I’d go, I had a bleed at seven weeks during my last pregnancy and I went to the epu for a scan the next morning- everything was fine.

I just wanted to know one way or the other- the uncertainty was horrendous.

shapelyglass · 30/07/2018 01:41

Ok I rang expectingthem to say come in tomorrow but they want me in now as it's 24 hours. So
I'm off

Thinking of you xxxx

WhatAnAbsolutePenis · 30/07/2018 08:53

Wow that’s good service! Most wont see you until a day or two afterward, that’s after you managed to get a GP referral.

Good luck OP.

Goatlady5812 · 30/07/2018 18:43

@shapleyglass how did you get on? I hope you are ok xxx

shapelyglass · 30/07/2018 21:07

Hcg is only 76 :( thickening in my uterus but no pregnancy. I'm
So confused.

OP posts:
shapelyglass · 30/07/2018 21:10

So I had a normal period on the 15/6 and then a week of heavy bleeding 12/7 and then a v strong positive on the 22nd of July. I got an immediate 3+ on a clear blue digi. I definitely didn't pass any huge clots or anything so I'm very confused :/

OP posts:
FruitCider · 30/07/2018 21:17

If you had normal period on 15/06 then you can't be 7 weeks pregnant, that dates you at 6+3.

What was their inkling at EPU?

I'm really sorry you are going through this, I remember the stress of uncertain hormone levels in pregnancy over Christmas 2011 and it nearly broke me Thanks

shapelyglass · 30/07/2018 21:20

They were thinking ectopic pregnancy and I've got to go back tomorrow for more bloods :( it's just rubbish 😭 yeah they said 6+3 as well my maths is shit!

OP posts:
FruitCider · 30/07/2018 21:55

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that 🙁 I'm hoping your hcg continues to rise, it's rare to see baby on ultrasound before hcg reaches 1000 so not all hope is lost yet x

Rachie1986 · 30/07/2018 22:02

Sorry to hear this. Hope you are ok and get some answers soon x

FruitCider · 31/07/2018 12:07

OP how are you doing today? X

shapelyglass · 31/07/2018 14:24

I was doing okay, I went for a scan and bloods this morning and they've doubled. So I went home but I've got so much pain around my right ovary. And my shoulder hurts (think I slept funny) so I'm going for a bath

OP posts:
CobaltRose · 31/07/2018 14:26

Shoulder pain can be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy. If it gets worse or continues I'd go to A&E. So sorry you're going through this. Good luck!

FruitCider · 31/07/2018 18:16

Hi OP as PP said if the pain around your ovary or shoulder is bad then go and get rescanned in a+e in light of the concerns re ectopic pregnancy.

Thanks
Shapelyglass · 01/08/2018 17:06

Hcg has gone to 21 now. :( does that mean that I'll miscarry soon? Or that I've already miscarried?

OP posts:
CobaltRose · 01/08/2018 17:10

@Shapelyglass, it certainly sounds like the pregnancy isn't viable. I'm so sorry, I've been through it myself and it's horrific.

Take care of yourself Flowers

FruitCider · 01/08/2018 18:17

Oh op I'm so sorry I was hoping it would turn out well for you. ThanksWine

Shapelyglass · 01/08/2018 23:24

I'm so gutted :( will I start bleeding?

OP posts:
NastyCats · 01/08/2018 23:38

I'm so sorry this is happening to you. It could be several days before you get any really heavy bleeding - that's how it was for me and I wish someone had told me it was a risk because if I had been out of the house or had my dd with me it would have been awful. It was like terrible diarrhoea but, you know, obviously from a different place. You might see a sac. There was a lot of thick blood and clots and you need to be in a bathroom. I know it's horrible but i would rather have been prepared and known what to expect . The epu told me, however, that my body might just reabsorb the pregnancy.

If the shoulder pain doesn't go or uou at sll suspect it is an ectopic pregnancy then please don't wait but go to the 24 hour epu you went to before.

Flowers I hope you are okay.

Shapelyglass · 02/08/2018 00:25

@NastyCats thank you. I'm just shitting myself. I don't know if it's going to happen or not as all they could see is a 'thickened lining' which is so confusing! As in where has it gone?
