OMG I'm pregnant!

After much waiting and then finding i have a giant fibroid that was probably (along with being 41) stopping me from being pregnant we have finally done it! Ironically found out day before appointmant with infertility specialist. EDD 1st feb so am 5 weeks. Scarily I seem to have a bump already. Have two teenagers already and don't remember showing early with them. Don't think I can be more than 5 weeks as was doing ovulation tests and know I ovulated in april. Anyone else show early? Someone said it is probably because my womb is pushing the fibroid up and this makes me look bigger. Sounds feasible. Any thoughts?

I have just booked an early scan (am old, history of miscariages, 2 in the last 6 months) for 19th June......

Aw.. Thanks so much. Have just booked early scan too! Scan is 15th June, they wouldn't do it any earlier. Didn't realise there was an ante-natal thread - how do i find that? Now I'm all emotional, you've all been so nice! Must be the hormones! Thought I was mad getting so wrapped up in being pregant so soon. It's so reasuring that I'm not the only one. My mother in law is pretty much of the view that you don't see yourself as pregnant until you've got to about 12 weeks. I guess that's the old fashioned view, these days we know so early that it's 'real' pretty much straight away. Couldn't have kept it a secret as we are so happy!

Congratulations. As you are 41, you could be carrying more than one hence why you are showing early. When I was 7 weeks pregnant, I looked like I was 4months. I thought I was carrying a lot of water until I went for my 12 week scan and found I was carrying twins.

Also, I had a fibroids too and I could feel it on the top of my uterus as my pregnancy proceeded. I had problems with it so make sure you are monitored closely.

I think the fibroid may well be responsible for the bump. I was showing by 7 weeks with my second child and was concerned I was having twins (the doctor was concerned too so it was not just a paranoid mum!). I went for an early scan to look for twins and they found a fibroid instead!
