A miracle has very possibly occurred!!! 4 years TTC, 2 years of infertility treatment, 1 IVF miscarriage, 1 negative IVF transfer and then all of a sudden today I get a positive test!! Naturally!! I have PCOS and one blocked tube so this is a miracle.

Last month I had a failed IVF cycle, just paid to start a brand new one, waiting for AF and then it would begin. All my drugs are at home ready to go. I was cleaning up today and found a spare test, decided because i’ve been using supplements to improve egg quality and there’s no sign of AF that i’d just use it on the off chance. The line came up straight away. I nearly passed out with shock.

Does this look like a good, strong line? Not sure how far gone I could be. Any idea what that line could indicate? I had a negative test on 14th June, stopped my IVF medication and had a bleed on 18th June so have obviously conceived at some point since then.

Good luck for today. Fingers crossed for a foetal pole. I had an early scan with my ds and they couldn't see heartbeat or foetal pole, by the 12 week scan he was huge! He's going to be 12 in 2 months time.

Pinkgeorge · 11/08/2018 14:50

Get of luck today !

@VillageFete is it tomorrow? Xx

VillageFete · 17/08/2018 17:09

Hi everyone,

So kind of you to comment on this thread. I saw my beautiful baby and its heartbeat last Saturday! And again today. I’m 7 weeks and 4 days today. Last week was a private scan, today was my follow up at EPU.

I am on cloud 9, but reading other threads I see some poor ladies who have seen heartbeat at 6 weeks and then gone on to have a missed miscarriage. It terrifies me. But I have to remain grateful and hopeful!

How exciting!! I know, pregnancy is terrifying until you have that baby in your arms. Even then it's terrifying! 😂 just relax and enjoy your pregnancy!

MacNcheese87 · 17/08/2018 17:37

Honestly, you will always worry about the next stage, and it doesn't ease up after 12 weeks.

There's worrying about:
Conception
2ww
Line eyes
Symptom spotting
Eating the right things
Heartbeat
Getting to 12 week scan
Nothing being wrong at 20 week scan
Getting to 24 weeks
Not going into premature labour
Baby moving enough
Baby moving not enough
Hospital bag
Plans for after the birth
Preparing for the arrival
The birth itself

And then you worry about them every day for the rest of your life. Grin

Try and enjoy it. It's so hard to do, particularly in the early weeks, but worrying doesn't change things, it can only take away from the joy.

Your post makes me happy. Good luck with it all!

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 17/08/2018 18:27

That's so lovely, congratulations to you.

The worry is awful, honestly, and I spent the first 12 weeks in a constant state of anxiety, but it does settle down as time goes on.

If you have the funds, and the anxiety is bad, I would perhaps recommend another private scan around 9/10 weeks. Sometimes reassurance just needs to be had.

FlotSHAMnJetson · 17/08/2018 19:07

Yay! I am so pleased for you!!! Xx

Worieddd · 17/08/2018 23:10

Brilliant news Grin

WoahBodyforrrrm · 18/08/2018 22:21

I’ve been on mumsnet for years and this is the first thread I’ve ever ‘watched’ I’ve checked everyday since you last posted and was beginning to think things may not have turned out well. I’m absolutely delighted to see your update @villagefete. My best friend has walked a similar road to you. We are Christening my precious Godson and her much longed for baby, next weekend.

I wish you all the luck in the world!!

VillageFete · 18/08/2018 22:33

This means so much to me that people care about my story. Honestly, it means the world so a massive thank you Flowers

I do keep thinking it’s all too good to be true, but 2 scans show a healthy baby and heartbeat. I have another booked for a week on Tuesday when i’ll be 9+1. Maybe then i’ll finally breathe a real sigh of relief? It really is non stop bloody worrying Grin And to think I thought i’d one day get that BFP and could relax! Ha!

I do think the odds are in my favour now, so I should try and enjoy it for what it is.

No such thing as relaxing, you'll never relax again, & I say that with my 4 yr old ivf baby!! They worry you non stop before they are here and when they are here Grin

Congratulations Thanks X

Frazzled2207 · 20/08/2018 17:35

Such good news. I don't know if it's true but I definitely read something that says that if all is well at 8 weeks then there is a 99% chance of a live birth. That helped me a lot in my pregnancies. Sadly the worry will continue (even when they are born!) but I think the first couple of months are particularly anxious. Once you feel yourself ballooning and then the baby kicking it's very reassuring.

squeakymouse · 20/08/2018 17:40

This is a wonderful thread, so pleased for you. Good luck xx

VillageFete · 20/08/2018 20:45

Thanks for the reassurance. I am just sick of the worry. I have another scan booked for next Tuesday (i’ll be 9+1) I wish I had some solid stats. I’m hoping it’s really rare for things to go wrong once you’ve seen a heart at 6 and 7 weeks? I was 7+4 at my last scan.

danni0509 · 20/08/2018 20:53

I'd just keep thinking........ 33 weeks from now............

Smile
ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 21/08/2018 06:18

OP none of this is fully backed up but I researched and researched in both my pregnancies (my second in particular I was v anxious due to a ruptured ectopic in between). I remember reading that once you see the heartbeat, that improves odds of carrying to delivery, and post 9 weeks too. I can't remember what happens at 9 weeks but I think something quite key in the baby's development so if you get past that, you then have v high chances of continuing to term. Its a while ago now so I can't remember where I read this so I'm afraid can't get you links, but these are the figures I personally had in my head, and I also asked the sonographer at my private 9 week scan and she confirmed this (although of course made it clear that she couldn't guarantee me anything).

That being said, if you're anxious it never fully goes away! With dc2 when I was almost at term I accidentally ended up close to a cow giving birth and then drove myself utterly, utterly mad for my final couple of weeks (I knew lambing wasn't advised so went somewhere without sheep - turns out they had other livestock birthing and then I read up that that can be dangerous too).

Wishing you lots of luck.

VillageFete · 21/08/2018 21:23

Thanks for the reassurance. Close family and friends know and I just don’t want to let them down? They are so happy.

How I wish I could press fast forward to my 12 week scan!
