39+1 weaker baby movements?

Mummy0718 · 11/07/2018 19:05

Just wonder if anyone else experienced this. I don’t think there’s anything wrong, baby is still moving just less than she used to and the movements are a lot weaker. That’s only way I could describe it. This has been for past 3 days I’d say. I’ve lay on my side, took cold drinks etc and eventually I’ll feel her move but it’s not the usual jabs I used to get.

I'd ring triage straight away. X

GreenMeerkat · 11/07/2018 19:07

If you have any concerns about movement get to triage straight away. It's probably nothing but you won't be wasting anyone's time by going in xx

HopeAndJoy16 · 11/07/2018 19:09

Definitely get seen as soon as possible. Midwives will 100% be happy see you if you're concerned!

MadisonAvenue · 11/07/2018 19:14

Please call and get checked over

RandomMess · 11/07/2018 19:30

You need checking out urgently

ReggieKrayDoYouKnowMyName · 11/07/2018 19:30

Go to triage NOW. Don’t delay.

0310Star · 11/07/2018 19:34

Go to triage, I went in yesterday at exactly 39weeks for the same reason, nothing was wrong and although I wasn't feeling much she was moving, better safe than sorry!

TheMotherofBears · 11/07/2018 19:39

Call and get checked asap.

BettyBooper · 11/07/2018 19:40

Call triage. Probably nothing but not worth the risk.

endofthelinefinally · 11/07/2018 19:42

Please call now.
Dont take any risks.

SoftBlocks · 11/07/2018 19:47

Get checked out ASAP. You can go back as often as you like, it’s always better to make sure everything is ok.

4GreenApples · 11/07/2018 19:49

Go get checked out ASAP.

The consultants and midwives in my pregnancies were very clear that I should ring the maternity unit immediately if I noticed any change in baby’s movements.

Best to get checked out to be on the safe side.

GreenMeerkat · 11/07/2018 19:58

Hope you've gone to get checked out OP! Let us know how you get on!

Pickledgerkingsareathing · 11/07/2018 20:38

Triage ! Xx

Pickledgerkingsareathing · 11/07/2018 20:39

Baby always move to the pattern you are used to no matter how close your due date is ! I'd get yourself there now especially as if there is a problem it's safe for the baby to come out now ! Keep us updated but please please go get yourself seen :(

TriJo · 12/07/2018 08:14

Go in. I was induced at 38 weeks for reduced movements, turned out there was a true knot in the cord which was also around his neck.

Mummy0718 · 12/07/2018 09:22

@TriJo could you still feel any movements at the time? I can still feel her it’s just not as much and very slight weak movements. I’m going to phone today, was moving a bit last night but as I say very weak in comparison to usual and family all saying it’s due to less room etc. I didn’t want to waste people’s time but I’m going to phone cause I’m getting overly anxious

I found that movements were stronger the further along I was. But everyone is different! Give triage a call to put your mind at rest.

Smurf123 · 12/07/2018 09:26

Please please go in. I had this from 35 weeks eventually at 37 weeks they listened and induced me. My son is here and healthy now but he spent his first week in nicu.. I'm sure all is fine but you are better getting it checked out

ShowOfHands · 12/07/2018 09:27

Everybody has told you the same. You need to ring NOW. They don't run out of room and stop moving. Think about it. They're bigger and stronger and taking up more room. Of course they don't get weaker.

Ring. NOW.

charley39 · 12/07/2018 09:30

Should feel baby movements all the way up to and during labour. Please call and get checked. If it’s anything like my DS as soon as they put on the ctg monitor they kick like crazy as if to say what’s all the fuss. I was induced for reduced movements and also stopped feeling them during labour and so glad I told the midwifes as baby wasn’t very happy inside. Always better to be safe than sorry xx

guiltynetter · 12/07/2018 09:30

i’m really sorry but i can’t believe you’ve waited 3 days for this. have you not seen a midwife throughout this pregnancy? mine offers me a count the kicks leaflet every single time i go and says how you need to get checked out even if it’s just a change in movements. i hope everything’s okay.

BumpInTheOven · 12/07/2018 09:32

Always get checked out, the mw would prefer to check rather than miss something... although family is right... the type of movement does change with less room, the frequency however should not change. Baby bump was very kicky till about 37 weeks which then turned to more wriggles... I'm sure everything will be fine but please do speak to the triage unit xx

Mummy0718 · 12/07/2018 09:38

Do you honestly think I need to be made to feel bad right now? I’ve seen a midwife countless times and been up and down to hospital for many reasons and on n off monitors and everything has been ok and made to feel like I was overreacting hence reason for not wanting to do it all over again for nothing! Was also asking friends and family for advice who are also mothers who had said they thought it was ok or had experienced same thing, im hardly doing it for my own enjoyment so no need to make me feel like this. And I say 3 days, I started to feel it was slightly weaker not that I haven’t felt her, I’ve followed the advice and had cold drink etc etc and felt the movements which they said was ok no mention of if it’s weaker etc actually read any movement is counted regardless of how strong. I’ve never been offered a count the kicks leaflet tbh and not once has a midwife spoke to me about it unfortunately but I’m waiting to speak to someone and just hope it’s ok

Just called and been told they wouldn’t be concerned as at this point it’ll be due to position of baby and they don’t worry about the strength of movements. Just been advised to do exactly what I had been with taking food and cold drink and lying on side to feel movements which I had been doing but was just fact the movements were a lot weaker but as I say they said they count every movement a movement and disregard the strength as it’s just position of baby
