39+1 weaker baby movements?

Mummy0718 · 11/07/2018 19:05

Just wonder if anyone else experienced this. I don’t think there’s anything wrong, baby is still moving just less than she used to and the movements are a lot weaker. That’s only way I could describe it. This has been for past 3 days I’d say. I’ve lay on my side, took cold drinks etc and eventually I’ll feel her move but it’s not the usual jabs I used to get.

I went in 13 times for CTG monitoring as 32-36 weeks, my twin one had no pattern of movements. It was horrible. One day I would feel
Her loads and the next nothing.
Her twin stayed constant in his movements right up until induction so it’s nothing to do with less room.. they were v squashed!

ellesbellesxxx · 13/07/2018 09:18

I got induced a few days earlier and don’t regret it

slippermaiden · 13/07/2018 09:38

Ellesbelles how could you tell which twin was which inside?? I'm a mum of twins and found it impossible to tell!

slippermaiden · 13/07/2018 09:39

Why is my reply all bold? Didn't mean to!Blush

I didn’t know enough about induction to make a decision last night but going in today I think I’m going to go ahead as I just don’t feel the movements are right although they tell me all is ok on monitor! It’s almost like tiny bubbles popping is all I can feel and she’s been keeping me awake at night previously with big movements etc. If anyone else has any advice re induction it would be appreciated

I don't know much about induction, I believe there are a few different ways to start labour off.
Maybe someone more knowledgeable will be along soon. Of course your doctor will give you info too so you won't need us!

I hope all goes well for you and Baba today, I'll be thinking of you and sending good vibes! Smile

mommybear1 · 13/07/2018 11:52

I know nothing about inductions but just wanted to let you know I'm still here @Mummy0718 thinking of you xx

lifechangesforever · 13/07/2018 12:07

I'm 39+3 and went in with reduced movements yesterday. All fine on the monitor and was given a sweep - I'm 1cm dilated and sweep was successful, midwife said everything is ready to go. Have they given you one?

I was also offered induction but decided to leave it for now and see if nature takes its course - due date isn't until Wednesday. I chose to wait because midwife informed me that it often is a more painful labour, with more interventions needed. I found this NHS page useful www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/induction-labour/

So I came home and started having pains and thought it was all going on - but it's all stopped now! Trying not to regret my decision lol, I don't think I do. I'm booked in for another sweep on Tuesday if nothing happens before then.

SiolGhoraidh · 13/07/2018 12:08

I'm glad all was well on the trace - I was thinking about you yesterday as the advice from your midwife did not seem very good at all.

The childbirth board on here has loads of info about inductions, so that might be helpful for you

GreenMeerkat · 13/07/2018 12:15

How will you be induced do you know?

Pessary or drip?

Mummy0718 · 13/07/2018 12:42

Thank you very much for all your words of support!
Not sure how I will be induced. On my way down to hospital just now for scan and to speak to a doctor! Last night midwife said they werent available due to an emergency and she couldn’t advise so I’ll ask all questions today when i see a doctor. Just didn’t feel I knew enough last night to make that decision.

@lifechangesforever thank you, I’ll have a look on there

Hope the scan went well and the doctor was able to answer all your questions on inductions.

Good luck Flowers

heyheymymy · 13/07/2018 22:29

Flowers for you op, how did today go?

Mummy0718 · 14/07/2018 14:15

@heyheymymy thank you. Scan went well although baby still not moving much. Heartbeat etc all good. Was given a sweep which didn’t start anything off and to go in tonight to begin induction

Hope all goes well OP, sorry people made some awful comments 😕 it's so hard knowing what to do and we shouldn't feel threatened on here
Let us all know how it goes, it's good for us to read the out come xx

GreenMeerkat · 14/07/2018 21:10

Advice I have re induction (without wanting to scare you) is if you end up on the drop, ask for an epidural early.

Good luck OP Thanks

GreenMeerkat · 14/07/2018 21:10

*drip

Smurf123 · 14/07/2018 21:31

Hope it goes well. I had induced, stated with pessary and then had waters broken and the drip 24 hours later. I was terrified after reading some stories on here of induction. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I did have an epidural after the drip stated.
I had diamorphine the first day although it did slow things back down but on the plus side I managed to get some sleep.
Best of luck

Mummy0718 · 14/07/2018 21:43

Thanks everyone! Had pessary so far and have been told I will be given another at 5.30/6am! She said it’s very unlikely for anything to start from first pessary.

Good luck mummy. I had induction and the pessary didn't start me off had it Thursday eve, Friday twice and sat morning (4 sets) they offered me a section as couldn't break waters. I waited til sun they could then break waters and put me on the drip. It really heightens the contractions as it's zero to 100 quite quickly. I got epidural and was happy then. Unfortunately baby's heartbeat dropped and I ended up with emergency c section with her but she's is now 3.5 yrs and fit as a fiddle. My advice if you get drip is to look for epidural early. Nobody explained this to me and I thought I should have been told.

Best of luck. Hope you start off yourself now and meet your precious baba soon.

With regard to feeling attacked upthread I think people really just wanted you to get checked and felt your midwife was advising you wrong and I am in agreement with them. My friend lost her baby at 36 weeks after reduced movements. It was horrendous. Better safe than the alternative.

mommybear1 · 15/07/2018 14:26

Hi @Mummy0718 thinking of you hope all going well Thanks

heyheymymy · 15/07/2018 21:47

Hi @Mummy0718 thinking of you today, I was in hospital through the night with reduced movements too and they found heart decelerations, as I went 12hours without another one I was allowed home but have a scan tomorrow to check baby’s growth and blood flow etc. Has your baby arrived yet? I hope you’re all well Flowers

Mummy0718 · 16/07/2018 20:28

@mommybear1 thank you. Ella was born last night at 11.41pm after having two pessary and drip. Turned out she had done the toilet inside and although they aren’t sure why she had been distressed at some point so they aren’t sure if that’s why she had reduced movements but she’s a healthy girl and we are absolutely in love! Thank you for everyone’s advice and thinking of us! It is very much appreciated!

@heyheymymy hope all went well for you with scan etc Flowers
