I am currently 36+4 weeks. Went to bed feeling like i was going to have diarrhoea but nothing UNTIL this morning. I've woken up with really bad diarrhoea and cannot leave the bathroom at all. Is there anything i can take like Imodium? Thanks

Are you feeling any better this morning op?

Choccywokkiedoo · 04/07/2018 07:39

I felt much better after a long rest. Turns out the sickness has been due to baby turning breech again, at 33 weeks I'm not impressed. But so glad I'm not spewing anymore.

Hope you're feeling ok today.x

SamanthaH92 · 04/07/2018 08:26

@minmooch i thought i was better this morning, got DD up, got her a drink and breakfast about to sit down with her and then it hit me. So straight upstairs for 20 mins. Managed to get a sample so will get that dropped in today and hopefully we can see what it is. Its not as bad as water like it has been but very very soft and very bad stomach cramps still. So this is day 5 😞 x

@chokkywokkiedoo oh no. Baby still has chance to turn up to 36 weeks if i remember correctly. My first baby was breach the whole way through. I had a planned c section with her, hence the planned c section this time. Consultant told me if they don't turn by 36 weeks they are not likley too so i hope baby turns again for you xx

@tracymars how long did it take for you to get the results back from gps?

OP posts:
tracymars · 04/07/2018 12:16

@SamanthaH92 Not long. Just a few days. He phoned me to tell me the results

SamanthaH92 · 04/07/2018 12:18

@tracymars thank you. I think our gps normally text out results. I got my mum to drop mine in this morning so hopefully I'll know what it is by the end of the week. It was the midwife who told me to put one in so doubt gp would ring.

How are you @SamanthaH92?

SamanthaH92 · 06/07/2018 20:38

@cooookies still not 100% not diarrhea anymore, but very very soft still, stomach cramps have not been as bad today but that maybe because what i did eat yesterday baby decided it no longer wanted and i was sick. Still had plenty of toliet trips, mucus with blood in again and very very smelly. Rang for results today to be told they won't give them out over the phone. So rang midwife and asked her to check. Results still were not back. So rang on duty doctor explained everything again to him. He wants to see me first thing monday morning to see how i am. Told me not to eat if i didn't feel like it, to which i replied I'm almost 38 weeks pregnant?! He said as long as i keep fluids up it will be ok. He still thinks gastroenteritis or food poisening. So misrable though x

@tracymars how long did you have it for? This is technically day 8 and although i thought it was getting better, it clearly isn't. I'm so fed up and so worried this is something more than a bug. I sent a stool sample in Wednesday morning and results still are not back 😭 gps monday morning but was told to ring midwifes back tomorrow and they will check results if they are back.

Just wondering if you've ate any frozen veg recently? If so what type and tell your drs ASAP

SamanthaH92 · 07/07/2018 20:40

No i haven't eaten any frozen veg. We have litrally been eating salad, new pots, chicken. I had a blt sandwhich from aldi which nobody else did. Sandwhich filler and wraps before all this started.

How are you today op? Hope you get your results and are a little clearer on what you have and what you can then do about it.

tracymars · 09/07/2018 22:58

@SamanthaH92 The pains started on Wednesday evening. I started with a bit of diarrhea on Friday but took some over the counter stuff which stopped it. But then I felt ill and sweaty in the evening. Really bad stomach pains Saturday night. Rang NHS direct because I'd never experienced pains like it and they said gastroenteritus and see GP on Monday if not better. The not being able to be too far from toilet diarrhea Sunday and Monday. Then stomach pains and occasionally diarrhea, so I saw the doctor and gave him a sample. I felt ambitious when I went to the doctors so went to the local shops afterwards. All I can say is thank god for the back stairs leading to the toilets at the local Weatherspoons. I had a few pains and a loss of appetite for a few weeks afterwards. Put me off chicken for a while.

QuestionableMouse · 09/07/2018 23:14

Tell the GP that you've been eating salad. My aunt caught e coli from lettuce and was really ill. The symptoms sound similar too.

Hope you're soon feeling better!

SamanthaH92 · 10/07/2018 07:17

I saw the gp yesterday. Said he was more concerened it could be a bug because i would soon be on a ward with vunrable women and babies. No results were back at that point. He said he wasn't concerned and still thought gastro. He checked me over and he said well apart from this you don't look ill. He said they wouldn't start investigating till i have had it for 3 weeks anyways and with me being pregnant there is nothing they can do now. The baby is whats important. Once again told me to not worry about eating. Still hadn't had results at 3pm so rang midwife and asked her to check and to my shock the results where back and were "clear" so god knows what this is but I'm still not right now.

SamanthaH92 · 10/07/2018 07:40

He did also ask if i thought baby was "lower" now to which i said yes but according to midwife she isn't in my pelvis just head down. And fairly low but my bump has dropped and she said when feeling my tummy that i must of been having braxton hicks because i had a tightening. Not that i felt anything.

@SamanthaH92 hey OP how are things? Hope you're fully recovered now

SamanthaH92 · 01/08/2018 17:42

@MakeTeaNotWar i am much much better. I am assuming it was just the way baby was laid on my bowels as she is now 12 days old and not had a signal issue since she was born x

SamanthaH92 · 01/08/2018 18:58
