I am currently 36+4 weeks. Went to bed feeling like i was going to have diarrhoea but nothing UNTIL this morning. I've woken up with really bad diarrhoea and cannot leave the bathroom at all. Is there anything i can take like Imodium? Thanks

At least it's been noted that you've phones and spoken to someone just in case it does start something up. Lots of iced water today and keep your fluids up.xx

SamanthaH92 · 30/06/2018 11:39

I'm trying to drink but unfortunetly it still going. The diarrhea cramps are strong still. Been going on 6 hours now and i am totally fed up and warn out. Sorry for the TMI but theres barley anything coming out now and its almost like clear water with bits of blood in it but been told the bloods from the amount I've been to the toliet. Sending oh out incase there is anything i can take x

How many times are you going an hour?

SamanthaH92 · 30/06/2018 11:47

Really feel for you. I'm 33 weeks, the heat doesn't help either.
Really hope it eases soon. Eggs are quite binding so maybe some scrambled egg and toast?

SamanthaH92 · 30/06/2018 11:52

I don't feel like eating anything atm but may try tonight. Yes this heat is terrible. My feet and ankles are so swollen its painful. My blood pressure is getting higher but no protein in urine so they are keeping an eye on that. I'm going to try get some sleep when OH takes the little one out xx

I was same as Ray, just before labour started.
So it's slowly subsiding now? That's good.
And on the plus side, at least you now know who to call with any concerns. 😀

SamanthaH92 · 30/06/2018 11:57

@hopingforhappiness does the "clear out" stop before labour begins or carry on through out? X

Poor you, I’m glad it’s easing off. Try to get some rest.

Itchyknees · 30/06/2018 12:46

I’d take dioralyte to keep properly hydrated. Poor you. Even a d&v bug usually clears once everything is out. I reckon early labour too

HarshingMyMellow · 30/06/2018 12:52

You have my sympathy.

I suffered exactly the same at 34 weeks, went to the hospital to be monitored and didn't leave until baby was born 3 days later.

I had no other symptoms. Just diarrhoea, cramps and feeling really weak/fatigued.

Keep an eye on itThanks

hopingforhappiness · 30/06/2018 12:58

Stopped next day for me, but labour started pretty much immediately after that.
I echo lots of fluids and eating if you can.

Amber0685 · 30/06/2018 13:02

You could take paracetamol and Codeine which you can buy over the counter. The codeine may help a bit with the diarrhoea as well as cramps. Lots of fluids as people have said.

SamanthaH92 · 30/06/2018 14:24

Thanks ladies i managed a little nap, just got up, gone downstairs for a drink and had to run back up. So it hasn't stopped yet unfortunately. I'm not sure where it is all coming from. I haven't eaten today and didn't really eat that much yesterday. Sorry for the TMI again ladies but its just clear liquid looking. X

@SamanthaH92 Do you have mucus (jelly like?) or pus (yellow or greenish like snot?) in it. If you do you should phone out of hours GP.

SamanthaH92 · 30/06/2018 14:35

Its like water and then when i wipe theres blood. Trouble is I'm on aspirin so what probably would be a little but of blood looks more xx

This definitely sounds like a bug, I really wouldn't take anything like Imodium as you could just end up with the terrible cramps and nothing coming out when really that is the best way to get rid of it.
Take tiny sips of water as often as you can manage and just wait for it to pass. Really hope that you feel better soon.

Pebblespony · 30/06/2018 14:37

I had this at around 38 weeks if I can remember correctly but didn't go into labour until my due date. Even without the pregnancy, it sounds extreme and might warrant checking out.

Foodylicious · 30/06/2018 14:38

I would just give your maternity assessment unit a call.
It won't do any harm!

SamanthaH92 · 30/06/2018 14:47

@foodylicious i already have done she thinks its a bug and doesn't want me to go in at all.

I was hoping it would of passed by now 😔 xx

OP posts:
Foodylicious · 30/06/2018 15:06

Oh, sorry missed that.
Hope it passes soon.
Have you got any lemonade, or someone that can bring you some Lucozade?
You must be shattered!

SamanthaH92 · 30/06/2018 15:13

I am but feeling really guilty at the same time as my DD is only 2 and i wanted us to have family time this weekend and take her places with not long before baby should be here anyways and the nice wheather. My OH thinks if it is a bug the only place it could of come from is lettuce as we have had lettuce every night this week. He doesn't have this but has guts of steel. I have been in PAU, GPs and womens centre this week so if it is a bug god knows where i have picked it up. Its strange that she's so low down as well now. I did think i would possibly go in to labour and everyone thinks she will come before the c section date for some reason.

@pebblespony did you have blood in it too after going for ages? X

OP posts:
Pebblespony · 30/06/2018 15:41

I actually had piles at this stage so I couldn't really say. Blush

Pebblespony · 30/06/2018 15:44

The cramps were excruciating though. I got a real fright and thought I was definitely in labour.
