@maggi85 what a lovely photo!
I stalk the other pregnancy after MC thread as some of the people I know from the TTC thread are on there. (I think you asked the same question about Doppler's there). One of them gave very sound advice, I thought. It's useful to get the opinion of people who have had experience of midwives trying to use them. On the face of it, it seems like a reassuring thing to get and use but I think there are other risks due to the difficulty of picking up the right heartbeat.

I've finally got my booking in app today at 10+5. We've booked another scan on the day I'm 12 as I expect my nhs one will be nearer 14 weeks.

I found out my next door neighbour is 5 weeks ahead of me with their first so that would be really nice if it all works out. Or the worst if it doesn't!

Cakelaur · 13/06/2018 09:29

@Maggi85 I got a Doppler. I refused to use it until 12 weeks because I didn't want to panic about not finding a heart beat. I use it maybe once a week and with my OH. We use it more of a way of bonding with baby (although it gives massive reassurance) but equally we don't panic if we can't find it right away. I'm so sorry for your loss! I couldn't imagine losing a baby at 16 weeks! We lost around 8weeks and never saw a heartbeat so our main reassurances have been the 4 scans we've had so far! 🙈it's such a bitter sweet thing; pregnancy after loss.

@maggi85 I have just bought a Doppler too as we also had a loss at 16 weeks. I want it for a bit of reassurance past the 12 week part. Not sure yet if it will cause more anxiety or not. Our baby still had a heartbeat when we lost it as I went into labour but I think the Doppler and regular scans will help to put my mind at rest a little bit

Alicejj8x · 13/06/2018 12:06

Ladies I don't know why but I'm
Already freaking out think coz the past 2 MC this one is just extra scary

So
I'm 1-2 weeks according to clear blue.
I mean I have a few symptoms off and on but should I be getting any strong signs/ symptoms yet?
I just need to calm
Down I think

kaytees · 13/06/2018 12:22

Hello all! Just checking in - had scan this morning and measuring exactly 12 weeks, so due date of 26/12 (moved forward again!). Baby was so wriggly we couldn't get a decent photo of it for nub theory but I saw many legs and arms waving about

SpongeBobGrannyPants · 13/06/2018 14:12

I also had a MMC at 20 weeks @Maggi85 and have decided not to get a Doppler as I think it could make my anxiety issues worse. Are you getting extra scans between 12 and 20 weeks? I have an extra one at 16 weeks but can request weekly ones until the reassurance of regular movement starts, if I feel the anxiety gets too much. Doing ok for now though.

Cakelaur · 13/06/2018 14:53

@Alicejj8x don't start panicking babe. I didn't get any symptoms until about 8 weeks. I had a bit of nausea at 6 weeks but on and off.
If you're 1-2 weeks you're actually 3-4weeks pregnant. So you may not get any symptoms for another month or so. Sending hugs. I know it's scary. Xx

clairehr · 13/06/2018 15:00

@Alicejj8x I feel your anxiety, I'm in the same boat. Not many symptoms and at 4.5 weeks.

Let's just wait for them to kick in, these babies are just chilling right now finding a cosy place to keep snug for the next 9 months 😊 Once they find that spot in sure we'll be regretting wanting more symptoms!

Alicejj8x · 13/06/2018 15:05

@Cakelaur @clairehr
Thank you both so much for your lovely comments Smile
It's so scary isn't it at this stage not knowing what's going on ..

Yes I've heard it's 3-4 weeks pregnant :) I googled that earlier lol
Thank
You though.

Think
Google can be the enemy at times though can't it lol

Yes that's true there getting nice and snug and yes I am
Sure were be wondering why we wanted the symptoms lol.

Congrats to you both xxx

Maggi85 · 13/06/2018 18:47

Thank you all I think I’ll leave it for now I don’t want extra worry x
@SpongeBobGrannyPants I’m getting a additional scan at 17 weeks so that will help I think x

MagicalCreatures · 13/06/2018 19:21

@kaytees logged on especially to see abit your Scan. So glad everything is looking good. Shame we can’t do the nub but as long as bubbas ok then that’s the main thing x x

kaytees · 13/06/2018 19:40

@MagicalCreatures raaahhhh the sonographer was saying 'come on baby sit still so we can get a photo for mummy' but it wouldn't play ball... my son was a right wriggler so I guess it's genetic! I did get a good view of it a few times and I definitely think girl still. Woo yours is TOMORROW! X

MagicalCreatures · 13/06/2018 22:26

Argh that’s so annoying @kaytees. You almost caught a glimpse though. Have you tried the skull theory too?
I know, I’m so nervous now. Even though I know baby’s ok, I’m worried now about the Nuchal measurements and all the checks etc. It’s frightens the life out of me. To get this far and the possibility of still getting bad news x x

Cakelaur · 13/06/2018 22:51

@MagicalCreatures good luck babe!!

BabynameEdie · 13/06/2018 23:06

@Maggi85 catching up here but wow look at that beautiful scan! So happy for you

@Daffodil77 how was your booking in appointment? I feel a bit bad..I'm nearly 8 weeks and haven't told my doctor yet. I just did it all so early on first time around and then never even got to go to see a midwife and I think I'm mentally blocking it out. Eeek now I feel terrible! I really must let them know...

@Alicejj8x it's so scary isn't it but don't worry I had hardly any symptoms and then it all hit me at 7 weeks. I don't think we can ever tell what's a good sign and what isn't. Like today I don't really feel pregnant which is scary but then yesterday I massively did!
Hope you're ok 😂

@kaytees Great news about scan!

@MagicalCreatures Good luck tomorrow lovely, will be thinking of you. what time is your scan?

Feeling really bad now that I'm nearly 8 weeks and haven't told my local doctor. We moved house just after my MC in Feb and I've been back to the EPU where they looked after me around the MC so have had an early scan but still haven't told my actual GP 😬

MagicalCreatures · 14/06/2018 06:37

Thankyou for the good lucks!!!! I feel like I’m gonna need it.
My appt is at 10.10am and I’ve been awake since 5.30am. Argh!!!

Wiggle4 · 14/06/2018 06:53

Good luck @MagicalCreatures!

Beck1988 · 14/06/2018 07:02

Good luck @magicalcreatures hope all ok! Got my scan tomorrow! 😬

xLeanne128 · 14/06/2018 07:25

Can't believe the day is here @magicalcreatures ! Mine is today too at 1.00! I don't know baby is ok so I'm extra worried my last scan was at 7+4. Only symptom I have is I've put on weight haha. Fingers crossed for 2 happy mummies!!

xLeanne128 · 14/06/2018 07:34

Just been to the loo and I have alot of brown discharge/spotting. Going insane :(

Cakelaur · 14/06/2018 08:24

@xLeanne128 don't panic babe. Can you take the day off and rest up until your scan? Remember brown is old blood. Are you around the time of your period? I had spotting then. Both months. Just think in a couple of hours you'll see bub all snug and wriggling in there. 🤞🏻

@MagicalCreatures can't wait to see pics!!

@BabynameEdie I did the same. I didn't tell my Drs until I'd had an emergency scan at 6 weeks and a check up scan at 8 weeks. Only then was I ready to book it in as a pregnancy.

OP posts:
Alicejj8x · 14/06/2018 08:39

@BabynameEdie
Thank you so much. It's such a worry like you say cause you just don't know what's ok and what's not in relation to symptoms.

I guess I'm so early so sickness wouldn't start yet anyway wouldn't it?..

Oh good luck to you ladies having their scan today xxx

kaytees · 14/06/2018 08:41

Good luck @MagicalCreatures and @xLeanne128 for today - everything crossed for 2 healthy babies. I also spotted around time period is due and as long as it's brown Midwife said not to worry x

BabynameEdie · 14/06/2018 09:24

Thanks. @Cakelaur that's reassuring, suddenly thought I was being a bad mum to be! Will call them today. That's exactly it I haven't been ready to confirm it as a pregnancy just in case. Don't really feel ready yet now but will bite the bullet!

xLeanne128 · 14/06/2018 09:29

And there's slapped cheek at work. Great it would appear I am doomed. Just panicking so much :( midwife is going to test my booking blood and see if I'm immune or not! X
