Out of curiosity, when can you usually hear bub’s heartbeat with a home doppler? Was just thinking I might buy one in a couple weeks but I don’t know when I can actually use it. Everywhere online says something different!

Cakelaur · 22/06/2018 22:40

@hayleyfx I've heard the heartbeat every time I've used it from 12 weeks. I didn't buy one until then. But testing it on my little sis. She was 8.5weeks when we tried a couple days ago and couldn't find it. We'll try again next week.

6 weeks today!!!

I've officially made it further than my previous pregnancies! Cramps today and nausea, eurgh, but yay!

Cakelaur · 23/06/2018 18:08

Yay!! Congrats @clairehr

I'm shitting myself! Tomorrow I'm stopping progesterone cream. I'll be 15 weeks on Monday and I'm so scared!!! I've been weaning off it for the last two weeks but so scared to take the plunge!!

@Cakelaur I've been using progesterone cream too! I've always been concerned about my progesterone levels so decided to try it out myself.

Have you had any advice from midwife about using it and coming off it? Do you feel it's helped? At your stage the placenta will have taken over so I'm sure baby has it all covered now 😊

I'm going to talk to my MW at my booking appointment about it and see whether they think I should continue or not.

Cakelaur · 23/06/2018 18:28

@clairehr I went and saw a private gp when I first got my bfp this time. And she said it was total rubbish. And the way the quantity of progesterone was written apparently is wrong. So she said it probably did nothing, but that it did no harm. I personally beg to differ and absolutely would use it again. As for coming off it. I got to 12 and decided I'd wait until either my terrible sickness stopped or I hit second trimester because that would suggest that the placenta had kicked in. It turns out my sickness has started to relax this week and so I've started weaning off it. And I've got my last blob of it left to use tomorrow symbolising the end of my week14. So I figured that worked out well. But I'm just so scared. I'd 100% use it on the next pregnancy. Even if it did nothing it helped me feel better and hey it seems to have got my to 15 weeks. Which is almost double last time!! Which one are you using? The serenity one?

clairehr · 23/06/2018 18:47

@Cakelaur That's super interesting! It sounds like a perfect time to be weaning yourself off of it, quite symbolic actually! You and baby have this covered!!

Yes, it's the Wellsprings Serenity one, didn't start it as early as I'd have liked and think I may well have already implanted when I started, but I feel like it's got me this far! It's the only one I could find that actually had progesterone as an active ingredient, rather than an ingredient which 'just' helped your body convert it to progesterone which is why I chose it.

Cakelaur · 23/06/2018 19:17

@clairehr well I recommend it. And like I said I'll be buying it again. I hope it works for you too!!! I'm sure it will! Eek!!! So exciting!

Is there any way to tell if it's bump or bloat? I have a right pot belly and I'm just not sure if it's simply bloat/gas. I still haven't told work but it's getting hard to hide!

leanne9312 · 24/06/2018 06:35

I think the same !! @Athers666 it will be a bump I'm sure though it just makes me think twice when the internet says my baby is only 3 1/2 inch long lol !! This is mine haha

SpongeBobGrannyPants · 24/06/2018 07:38

The baby's only small but your uterus is much bigger and there's the placenta too. Plus muscles/organs start having to change and move up and out of the way to make room. I think this, a bit of bloat, how baby babies you've had and your build all contributes to bump size. It's a lovely bump!

SpongeBobGrannyPants · 24/06/2018 07:39

How *many babies

SpongeBobGrannyPants · 24/06/2018 07:40

Meant to tag @leanne9312 at the end there too!

leanne9312 · 24/06/2018 08:29

@SpongeBobGrannyPants yea I see what you mean this is my second although it's my 6th pregnancy so maybe that's why and usually I'm slim although putting weight on everywhere haha, also I'm not very tall 😀

leanne9312 · 24/06/2018 08:30

O and I'm 14 weeks 15 I a few days 🤭

Athers666 · 24/06/2018 09:25

Aww @leanne9312 your bump is so cute!

kaytees · 24/06/2018 09:32

Oh that's a lovely bump @leanne9312 - definitely baby and not bloat!

My baby has picked 13+4 to make an appearance... I didn't look this big at 6 months with my first but I'm not as slim as I was so am just going to roll with it!

@clairehr wishing you the best, symptoms do come and go though I asked my midwife when I was 7 weeks and she said it's because every time you have a hormone surge there strong and then tend to calm down before he next one xx

Athers666 · 24/06/2018 17:22

@clairehr Thinking of you and hope all is well x
