I’ve just had my BFP after 3 years of trying, will be DC2 (touches wood). The NHS due date calculator has my due date around the 2nd Feb. Anyone else ready to jump on board? Grin

Wow that is quite a while you’re meant to wait for the first midwife appointment! I have my first one on Thursday (I’ll be 5+3) as midwife wants to get me referred to hospital asap because of my history of MC. Then my first scan is just over two weeks away - so nervous 😩

@GetInMyNelly huge congrats!!

@jeanzbeanz yep I’m so bloated it’s crazy haha 🙈

@Celebelly - I called this week and I'm not booked in until nearly 8 weeks! I'm sure it will straight away with my first? X

I'm not sure how long after calling in I get booked in. For me it's probably because I went in to get forms to register as we moved house recently and mentioned it then, so receptionist said to call in at 6 weeks as they would have all my records by then to arrange appointment.

We have a private scan booked for the 19th too.

I thought so, I only had my first 14 months ago but it feels like absolute ages ago and I've forgotten most of it (probably baby brain).

Il wait until I'm 6 weeks (I presume they wait until then as that's the earliest you can have a dating scan).

Just feel like everyday is absolutely dragging now!!

I hear you all with the worrying! We had a nightmare on Friday night, went to my usual gentle yoga class, after about 40min my core started to feel sore so I stopped. That night I had terrible abdominal pain, only on the left hand side, much worse on movement, so bad I cried trying to reach the loo. Called 111 - took 2 hours to get back to me, doc was only slightly reassuring it was muscular and not an ectopic by this time it's 12.30 and I really don't fancy A&E. After 2 days pain has completely subsided, I've had no bleeding and boobs still sore AF so I think we're good but I am now on absolute eggshells at every little twinge.

Last weekend I spent 3 days shoveling gravel and tipping wheelbarrows into a skip. On thursday I did a weight training session. But bloody safe-and-encouraged-during-pregnancy-yoga set me off 🙄

I self-referred to the midwives online on Friday, we move house in 3 weeks and I wanted to get the ball rolling in advance of that! I'm also feeling super bloated, but then I do usually suffer with that so it's not particularly new. Hopefully that will help put people off the scent as we're not planning to tell anyone until after the scan.

I'm not looking forward to work tomorrow. Nobody knows and I'm going to be starving all day and I feel like it'll be obvious with that and being a bloated pig! Haha x

@TheTittifersHaveSungTheirSong - I know. My first plan is have breakfast at home but then take cereal for my 'breakfast' at work. That's as far as I got Haha. X

@jeanzbeanz - I know! Surely we're ready to pop by now right? X

How early can I have a private scan??

I know I shouldn't go by it but I've been doing pregnancy tests everyday......the one yesterday was really dark and was an afternoon wee

The one this morning was the first one, yet it's lighter.

Sad

Can I join in please? Based on my last period my due date is 10th of Feb. I took a first response this morning and it came up straight away, I took three cheapies yesterday and all 3 had barely there lines around 8 minutes and very faint pink lines after half an hour.

I'm excited and very scared at the same time as I'll have two under two and three under three. I also have to break the news to dh as we weren't TTC.

Here you can't see a midwife until at least 7 weeks pregnant as it's a self refer service.

jeanzbeanz · 04/06/2018 10:10

@GetInMyNelly Google what is available in your area. The one I found I can have at six weeks. Am going next Friday - think I'll be 7 weeks by then but wanted to make sure my £79 wasn't going to be wasted!

Celebelly · 04/06/2018 10:12

I'll be 6+5 for ours. I want it then because we are due to go away on holiday the week after but if the worst has happened and the pregnancy isn't viable I'd like to know rather than risk miscarrying in a strange country or on an airplane.

@GetInMyNelly 6 weeks but you may not see anything/ a heartbeat. Earlier than that and you risk not seeing anything at all. And at 6 weeks, it'd have to vaginal, not transabdominal (occasionally at 6 weeks done people get a good picture transabdominally but it's rare). 7 weeks is better, 8 weeks ideally. A heartbeat at 8 weeks reduces the chance of miscarriage by 80% or somewhere near.

However, and I really, really stress this. Choose your scan company carefully. You want near as medical as you can get, not just a pop up company with an unqualified person who's just been trained to use the machine. You want someone who realises that when you say your 7 weeks but at measuring 5, that's a problem, who knows what a good heart rate for that gestation is etc. I've read and know of a number of people who've had private scans, been measuring behind but were told not to worry as there was a heartbeat, who went on to miscarry.

Just rang the GP surgery and they said I don't need to see a doctor, and have booked me in to see the midwife on 22nd Grin

Celebelly · 04/06/2018 10:54

Yes, def check the scan place. Mine do transvaginal but I know some only do external which might not pick stuff up so early. Also you'll 'see' a lot more if you leave it a week or two so it depends on your motivation for the scan I suppose.

I'm 100% sure of my dates too so if you aren't, then might be worth waiting an extra week or so in case you go too early.

I just popped in registration forms to doctor and they booked me in for Midwife appointment in just over two weeks. Also got my booking in pack which has vitamins and a book about pregnancy! Eek!

I'm booking an early scan for 9 weeks. Looking back, I don't know how I stayed so calm & patient!! Blush

I was ravenous all day yesterday, but now it's half one and all I have eaten today is a chewy sweet. Hope this isn't an ominous sign.

I was with my parents last night who know about my pregnancy and they encouraged me to have a (very small!) glass of wine with my meal. I reeeeeeally enjoyed it even though I didn't finish it. Feeling a bit guilty but anyone older (ie my parents generation) seems to think it's 100% fine to do that. What does everyone else think?

Eyedontknow · 04/06/2018 13:48

@Jeanzbeanz small amounts every so often are not likely to cause any issues. But if it's a regular occurrence or you binge drink you risk impacting your child's development. Not necessarily leading to FASD, but they may have sleep issues, etc.

Been feeling a bit off today, was gagging before breakfast and started feeling icky before I ate lunch. I usually really enjoy what I had, but had to force myself to eat it today. All good signs I hope!

I got my BFP today, but had a m/c last month so not massively hopeful at the moment. Or at least I'm trying not to be to avoid disappointment if it doesn't stick! 😂

Due date is about the 11th, but my DS had to be induced at 36weeks because he was IUGR and had reduced movements, so making it to February would be a bonus! 😀

Hey
Can I join this thread, I'm new to this. Got my BFP Saturday and napping is my new hobby I'm exhausted.. I'm due 13 Feb or so the app says.
I also had a mmc in March and share your worries and concerns! I had to tell work as I needed to be put on restricted duties so makes me nervous incase anything goes wrong as I couldn't take any risks my jobs so physical.
Good luck to all you lovely ladies. X

So I survived my first day back at school-resisted the urge to shout "I'm pregnant" at everyone who asked how my half term was 😂 I was screaming it in my head but just told them I had a lovely time!! How was your first day back @KimRobs87
Significant increase in trips for a wee-i usually don't go at all when I'm at work, but went 3times today!!
Had the urge to POAS again 🙈 (only a cheapie so it technically doesn't count...right?) test line came up even before the control line had... should probably not check anymore!!!

My boobs aren't as sore any more and my back hasn't been to bad lately, going through a phase of decreased appetite but I'm more happy to graze at food (smarties and breadsticks)

Congrats to the new comers!
