Ingenious uses for muslin cloths??

Pregnant with DC1, and for some reason I've been inundated with muslin cloths as gifts! Big ones, small ones, some as big as your head.. Just wanted to know your crafty uses for them other than mopping up dribble and vomit!

Nappies! Add a reusable waterproof wrap on top and you're good to go.

I use them as Bandanas for my French bulldog

Draped over the hood of the buggy to shield from the sun!

As a rug for baby to lay on in the park or garden 😄
As a cover up for breastfeeding, also makes a good swaddle.

You will need them all (and probably more) for mopping up dribble and vomit.

Hankies during hay fever season

I always tell parents-to-be - buy half as many babygros and twice as many muslins as you think you will need.

Straining stock.

Great for demisting the inside of the car. Sunshade, straining your jam / elderflower cordial.

I’m jealous if you’ve been gifted any anais and anais muslins! They do the best giant muslins, I didn’t get given any as a present so I bought some myself as I really wanted them! I used them as backdrops when I took photos of him as the muslins had a nice pattern

I lay one on a table in a pub garden and put DD on it under the shade of a big umbrella when she was a few weeks old.

Use as a blanket when it is too hot for a regular blanket.

If you have a spit uppy baby you'll easily go through 4 or 5 a day just on that anyway!

Big ones were great as sun shields over buggy, blanket for the baby to lay on the grass in the park, a modesty shawl for when you're starting breastfeeding and maybe feeling a bit self conscious.

I actually cut mine up to use for Hallowe'en costumes.

Great as lightweight blankets when the weather gets warm!

We used the big ones in the moses basket and cot. We would have it so the head lay on it (we would fold it over and tuck it under so no loose bits). It saved some laundry as baby would be sick on the muslin and not the fitted noses basket sheet.

My 3 year old insists on using her baby sister's muslins as hankies on the walk home from nursery. I always have tissues but apparently the muzzie is softer.

That’s a small selection of their uses. My youngest is 6 now, so i have forgotten the rest.

You will need them all. And probably some more. They are a multipurpose baby cleaning implement.

Once you're done with them though they make excellent tea towels and handkerchiefs (they've got me through a couple of really nasty colds ).

They are my bib of choice for my 2 year old!

Cut one up into small squares to wash babies bum afte enappy changes. No need for wipes when doing only wet ones.

Keep them forever though- muslins are the best for cleaning class and stainless steel.

My dd uses them for dressing up and all sorts. Then occasionally when she has a bug we end up using all of them as pillow protectors and vom catchers. DD is at school but I always seem to have a muslin in the wash!
