Just can't sleep, I know I should be resting life is about to get very busy with a 4yr old a 2ye old and newborn twins but I can't! Sitting here wondering if my hospital bag has anything useful in as it's been packed and in the car for well over a month! I had a sweep on Friday and midwife said she could stretch to 4cms and get right round baby's head and I have been loosing my plug ever since so hopefully the induction won't take forever but you never know.
Any wise words ladies?

Hope all goes well! My labour was very quick with my twins, went from induction to pushing within 8 hours. Having twins is awesome!

Cherrysherbet · 07/05/2018 06:15

Don't think I'd be able to sleep either! Very exciting! Lots of luck.

ShouldIBuyOrShouldIGo · 07/05/2018 06:25

Oh good luck. I was induced with my first and it only took 4 hours, so hopefully you'll have those babies in your arms soon! I don't have twins so no advice there but enjoy those newborn cuddles X 2!

MrsRyanGosling15 · 07/05/2018 06:33

Oh how lovely. I love that moment when you finally see those beautiful wee faces and you just fall in love with them. I was just telling my 3yo the other day about the 1st time we meet. Hope all goes well, enjoy all these moments. Blink and they are gone Flowers

Best of luck for today- I have a friend in exactly the same position (4 yr old, nearly 2 yr old and twins being induced this week!)

Exciting times ahead for you both!!

Thank you. It's going to be a wierd day. Hospital can call me anytime after 0900 and if they haven't run g by 12 I am to ring them. The Doc said sometimes a bed doesn't become free until 2 or 3 the next morning!! Which I suppose makes sense and isn't really a problem but I have both my parent s and my in laws here (being brilliant and ready to help with childcare) but good it is tense. They all live miles away so visits are a rare treat and have never happened together, leaving the house - even to go into labour, is going to feel like a treat!!

Ooh! Good luck OP. I’m lying in bed with my five month old twins now. Twins are so scrummy. The bit where you push one twin out and then the other is actually very exciting. I’d love to do that but again! Assume they are DCDA? Do you know if they are boys or girls?

PaddyF0dder · 07/05/2018 07:32

Good luck. We’ve got twins who just turned 1. It’s a wild ride.

Kurlz · 07/05/2018 07:35

Good luck sweety. You'll be fine. I was induced with my little girl and all went fine. You'll have double the blessing with twins. Just remember you're body knows what to do and let it take control. I'd do it all again yesterday if I could. Let us know how you get on. As for the parents, they're big enough to look after themselves. You've got enough to concentrate on without having to worry. I'm sure you're other little ones will keep them in check. Much love xx

SinkGirl · 07/05/2018 07:39

Best of luck today. My twin boys are 19 months now, of course it’s very hard work but they bring me so much joy too. I had mine by emcs at 35 weeks and we didn’t have the happiest start as one was very ill, so hanging in there until 37 weeks is just brilliant. You have the added bonus of your body knowing what it’s doing so hopefully it will move quickly! Best of luck x

ShouldIBuyOrShouldIGo · 07/05/2018 08:36

@Gunpowder they are DCDA we don't know the sex, although at the 36 week scan the radiographer did call one of the she in a blink and you miss it moment that I wouldn't have credited except he then made a big fuss at the end of saying he didn't know the gender so it was still all a surprise...me thinks he protest too much. But all I want are healthy babies I don't care about gender!

Good luck op, hope it all goes well.
Enjoy those baby snuggles, my twins are 4 1/2 and currently trying to outsing each other over the table. Flowers

Ohhshiney · 07/05/2018 10:39

Good luck! I had my twins at 37+2 I was already 3-4cm when I went in and was only in labour 10 hours total! Enjoy the joys of being a twin mummy!

ShouldIBuyOrShouldIGo · 07/05/2018 11:44

Oooohshiney that sounds good!!

I got the call! They have given me a bed and a wrist band and then sent me off to get a cup of tea! Feels like the height of modern medicine, may even walk back to the ward up the stairs 😀

How bloody exciting!!!

Good luck!!

Gunpowder · 07/05/2018 12:10

I didn’t know the sex either. It’s so exciting because you get the ‘its a girl!’ or ‘it’s a boy!’ moment twice. I had my suspicions though as one of my sonographers said ‘we know they aren’t identical’ and so obviously then I thought they were g/b, and they were! I’m so excited for you OP, get you can’t wait for the double cuddles.

Gunpowder · 07/05/2018 12:11

Bet not get

FlyingCat · 07/05/2018 20:22

Hope everything went well and you are too busy cuddling your twins to report back :)
