Following on from the Itchy & bitchy 2nd trimester thread!

I'm now 25 + 6 weeks, so very nearly 6 months gone! 3 months remaining...

Morning sickness is still very present and I've been reminded of this 4-8 times a day all week.

On the plus side- movements are now very regular and I love them! Much lower down than I remember DC1 being- lots of bladder kicks which are /not/ fun.

Hows everyone else doing with the 3rd trimester?

@LMX0
@CremeDeSudo

How are you two getting along?? Grin

Ugh another rubbish nights sleep. Woke up at 315 for a wee, couldn't get back to sleep. Gave up around 415 and read for a bit, tried to get to sleep and gave up again around 515. Snoozed for a bit but woke up at 6 with cramp Sad

"Working" from home today though (so basically catching up on laundry and sorting the nursery Grin and a midwife appt).

Lots of us struggling now it seems?

I can really tell things are stepping up a notch this week mind you. Think it's partly because I didn't see the chiro!

Thank you so much for this thread ladies - I woke up this morning (37 weeks today) and am just mardy as anything!

Still have a week and a bit of work, plus me and the hubby have (standing) tickets for Florence & the Machine on Sunday so not sure how confident I am about staying awake and upright for the whole gig...possibly not my best decision!!

Also, how the hell are you supposed to shave your legs now? I feel like I have stripes from all the bits I missed because I can’t bend over v well and am dreading a midwife having to see!

The mother in law is also moving a few doors down from me this month but that’s a whole other topic :s

@Embracethechaos i was going to say are you following me?! 😂
@CremeDeSudo oh you poor thing!! At least your 'working from home today' could u fit a nap in somewhere? I still complain im very lucky just the patience thing atm (seriously someone is going to die at some point! 🙊🙈😂)
@LincsK thats me everyday!! 😂 oh you poor thing i dont know how your managing it!! And standing!!! 😱 hopefully youll enjoy it that much youll not notice any tiredness or aches i started waxing early on just so it would last me a bit longer (my legs that is) but at that point my dh has been warned he will have to help!! And 2 doors down 😱 mine lives 2 streets away and thats still to close!!! Do you get on with your ILs?

FranticallyPeaceful · 03/05/2018 09:42

@LincsK Jesus wept! Why are they moving so close? My MIL is super creepy and seems to think I’m birthing her child for her and she lives an hour and a half away - couldn’t stand her being 2 doors away! Frigg that right off. Boundaries!

@LincsK you're mental. I went to see Michael McIntyre @28wks and my back was killing and I was sitting! I epilate so my legs aren't too bad but my bikini line is awful. Also, I remember with DS that sometime around now I stopped being able to wipe my bum! Blush Not looking forward to that happening again!

@lmx0 Hoping for a nap. Wish me luck!

@Imxo That’s what I’m hoping too!! It should be good but I’m not above making an early escape if I need to haha!!

@franticallypeaceful At least mine doesn’t sound quite as bad as yours! Get on with her ok-ish but she refers to the child as “my baby” and tells me what she’s going to do when baby stays with her...! Expecting lots of knocks on the door when I’m on mat leave! I’m on spending a lot of time on Right Move at the mo...as well as the threads about how to cope with MILs!!

@LincsK such threads exist!? I must find them!! I dont blame you if i didnt love my house id be moving too!! My mil gives me anxiety thinking how she will be when the baby is here!!
@FranticallyPeaceful what is wrong with MILs? I once had that thought when mine kept banging on about baby names (we have a name in mind) and how she wanted a unique name that no one else in the class would have but nothing out there and mentioned this loads (the name weve picked is popular but we love it) now been told to shh

@LincsK mine lives around the corner I feel your pain!! Mines actually ok but a few things since being pregnant have annoyed me like turning up to our baby shower with gifts and then announcing that they were for the baby stays with her and brought them all home with her Hmmwe have net curtains downstairs and I'm going to disconnect the doorbell for mat leave!

Officially a week overdue now and the only appointment for the midwife today is at 6pm and we have to head to the birth centre for it in rush hour traffic! I now have full blown PUPPS and the rash all over my bump is driving me up the walls, the only cure is to give birth Angry

Smurfybubbles · 03/05/2018 12:10

@lmx0 mine greeted me one day with hello fatty Angry I let most of it go over my head these days! I had massive anxiety over how she was going to be a few weeks ago, it got so bad that I wrote an email to my DH explaining exactly how I feel! He has agreed to watch out for boundary overstepping and will back me up in my decisions 100%, since then I've mellowed out!
I'm having a boy 💙 do you know what you're having?

39+2 today, really hope baby comes on time but have accepted that probably won’t happen! Sweep booked in for next week when I’ll be 40+2.

I’ve been really emotional the last week or so which is quite unlike me, cried to DH almost every day but not sure what’s making me sad Hmm

Can’t sleep, can’t get comfy, can’t stop eating, bored out of my skull on Mat Leave. Can’t wait to have baby here to keep me occupied. Although will probably be complaining on a different thread then!

Shocked at your MIL @smurfybubbles 😱 what on earth goes through people’s minds to think it’s ok to say things like that! Sending you lots of labour vibes, hope you meet your little boy before the weekend 😊

I feel so lucky that my MIL is sane and laid back. I will be modelling myself on her when my kids get partners.

@pumpkinmumma fingers crossed you won’t need the sweep. Treat yourself to something nice today, the end is so emotional which just adds to the exhaustion. You deserve something nice!

Found out Tuesday I won’t be able to have a sweep until 41 weeks. So on a mission to get this baby shifting. Especially after being in hospital again yesterday. So fed up of going there! But I was chatting to a woman with a squishy newborn and it made me focus on the prize at the end of the road again 😍

I'm 30 weeks but had a little panic this morning that the baby would be premature... No reason to think that except I'm not ready yet and my mum had all her girls early and I was reading about the head going into the pelvis ready for birth and that's been the position at the last midwife appointment and the scan, probably just a comfy position, it's just feeling squishy inside and I have too much time on my hands.

@readysetcake thanks, would really like him to come before he weekend not looking forward to another heatwave this pregnant Confused

I second treating yourself, maybe book a pedicure? I got mine done 2 weeks ago and they're still holding up. At least when I go into labor I'll have pretty red toenails to stare at lol I might also sound a bit mental but I made myself up a hamper for after the baby arrives, popped my fave booze, nice moisturizer, face mask and favorite sweets in there! It's currently sat in the corner taunting me!

@Smurfybubbles & @pumpkinmamma any sign of babies making an appearance?!
@WreckItRach i know the feeling!! Anyone else run out of room for maternity clothes so just have a little pile of clothes in bedroom? Rant alert!! How hard is it to make a good & cheap pair of maternity work trousers?! Asda i found i was between sizes and i ordered some of peacocks they where a disaster!! There was an inch thick waistband that went around the belly button area of tummy and the stretchy bit started from there now i dont about u ladies but my bump dosent start above my belly button !!

@lmx0 no sign whatsoever so it's induction for me tomorrow if they have beds available! It's the last thing I wanted but this baby just will not shift despite the sweep, endless bouncing and walking my legs off the last few days! Just trying to remain positive, what will be will be and at least I know he'll be out soon!
No advice on maternity trousers sorry I lived in my new look over bump leggings! I was so lucky to be pregnant over winter, I lived in big jumpers! Could you go for under bump trousers and use a bump band?

Report
lmx0 · 05/05/2018 20:52

@Smurfybubbles im sure your up the walls waiting i would like to avoid induction if i can but im sure u get to the point were baby needs to come out hopefully they have a bed for you tomorrow!! I'm giving up looking that pair i have i think if i fold the waistband down over itself and wear a band it might be okay ive only 7ish weeks left of work i would just wear legging but i big legs and i am very aware of it lol

Oh good luck for tomorrow @smurfybubbles! I’m sure it will all go well and you could have your beautiful baby by this time tomorrow!
@WreckItRach I’m exactly same with nothing to wear. Currently in short leggings that just about stretch over my bump but give me a terrible camel toe 🐫 so not suitable
For leaving the house!
@lmx0 can’t advice on work trousers either. Been living in leggings for weeks. Luckily my job is casual dress. Hope you can find a comfortable solution.

I mowed the lawn today in the hope of setting things off. But nothing.

@ wreck it wralph. I'm pleased I can eventually wear my maternity dungerees. yay. Also went clothes shopping yesterday, got a few loose beachwear. My bump is very high a lot of the time and actually have the opposite problem with smart trousers, the band went from too loose and falling down to uncomfortable, tight and itchy around my waist, esspesally when the baby moves to a high position. I live mostly in one dress from jojo and leggings. Now it's just that dress. I'm lucky though I wear a uniform so don't need to worry about work maternity clothes, I haven't put much weight on my thigh and bum so have found normal leggings are sometimes more comfortable that maternity ones. Also got a few loose beachwear type, non maternity clothes. I've got to get all maternity clothes online, I'm sure I saw loads in the shop last year is being pregnant fashionable? I've ordered some clothes from next, are they any good?

Embracethechaos · 06/05/2018 07:19

Sorry, repeating myself... I meant is it not fashionable to be pregnant anymore?

Report
WreckItRach · 06/05/2018 07:54

@Smurfybubbles good luck for today, I hope they have a bed spare so you can get in and started!

I'm so glad it's not just me with the mat clothes!!
@Embracethechaos I find it really frustrating that almost no shops sell maternity wear in store anymore, apparently pregnant women prefer to shop online which I think is crap. I'm going to try H&M today for a cheap summery dress 🤞
I wouldn't know about work trousers, I'm lucky to not have to wear them either!
