Following on from the Itchy & bitchy 2nd trimester thread!

I'm now 25 + 6 weeks, so very nearly 6 months gone! 3 months remaining...

Morning sickness is still very present and I've been reminded of this 4-8 times a day all week.

On the plus side- movements are now very regular and I love them! Much lower down than I remember DC1 being- lots of bladder kicks which are /not/ fun.

Hows everyone else doing with the 3rd trimester?

@LMX0
@CremeDeSudo

How are you two getting along?? Grin

I have the MW on standby 🙈 pain is like 10-12 minutes apart & not lasting much longer than a minute at most, but they are making my eyes water!!! If this isn't it i am actually going to have a meltdown

SK166 · 01/06/2018 19:19

@mustbemad - YAAAAAYY! Fingers tightly crossed that this is it! YOU CAN DO IT!!

lmx0 · 01/06/2018 19:36

@GottaBeStrong at least your mum is ready and waiting!! And hopefully baby can hang on in there until your section when is it? @WreckItRach good advice!!

Eeekk @WreckItRach how exciting thats a bit closer to baby!!

@NooNooHead that's good they didnt find anything wrong and herbie 😂

@Rochyella84 it makes a nice change to the cold altho its not nice to work in!!!

@SK166 yous sound like you've have had a rough time of it and your dh sounds like and absolute angel!!! Is he getting much time off work when baby arrives?

@mustbemad17 eekk how exciting hope all goes well!!

GottaBeStrong · 01/06/2018 20:04

@WreckItRach how exciting. I hope things are going well. It sounds as if things are progressing.

@NooNooHead glad to hear that everything is okay with you and baby. It's such a strange feeling knowing that either way you'll be having your baby by x date isn't it?

@Rochyella84 I can imagine! It must be difficult with a toddler. I have tried to keep as active as possible. The heat doesn't help though and neither does bump getting in way of bending.

LostMyBaubles · 01/06/2018 20:56

Mustbe ooooo sounds very exciting!!!!

Wreckit yay!!
Its such a weird feeling having waters broken lol. Not painful though.

Good luck to the both of you

SK166 · 01/06/2018 21:13

@lmx0 - probably not. Because it's his own business, if he can't arrange cover (which he often can't at short notice) then he has no choice but to go to the night shifts or he risks losing the contract which we just can't afford. Plus if he doesn't work we don't have any income, so it's a lot of pressure and I know how badly he wants time with the baby. Honestly, he is so incredible and hard-working and committed and loving, and he's SO excited about finally having his baby girl here. It breaks my heart to see him so stressed and to be so unable to help. I just had a big old cry to my mum and then waddled to the park with my puppy in the evening sunshine so am trying to feel a bit more positive now!

@Gottabestrong - how weird is it going to be once baby is out and you can actually bend and move in normal ways again?! The shapes I currently have to contort myself into to tie my shoes are incredible!

lmx0 · 01/06/2018 21:53

@SK166 hopefully he mange to get some cover even if it is just a couple of days puppy and a baby? Your a brave woman!!!! I love doggies though!!

lmx0 · 01/06/2018 22:22

How many vests & babygrows are you ladies packing in your hospital bags ladies? And what else are you taking for baby apart from nappies n that

MamamamaT · 02/06/2018 08:07

SK166 your parner sounds like a really good egg and you'll get through this tough time and soon the business will be more established and he'll gradually be able to be with you guys more. You'll probably need to cash in all the favours you can from family, friends and neighbours, have you got a decent support network in place?

How's everyone doing this morning? I was so exhausted by the end of yesterday and sooo incredibly uncomfortable putting DS1 to bed. We're about to move him over to big boy room & bed and it can't come quickly enough. Feeling better after a much needed good night's sleep though and weather's nice atm (supposed to turn later) hope everyone is coping ok. The heat is not easy!

As for hospital bag lmx0, I haven't got near packing one yet but I'll probably put in about 3 vests and babygrows and a pack of nappies (we might go cloth later but probably disposable for the early days) aaand as for anything else... Can't think of anything else they'll need apart from a little blanket! Car seat of course. I'll try to remember to take extremely comfy old clothes, socks and slippers and slip on shoes or sandals, some drinks & snacks, some lansinoh for the nips, and maybe something for piles as I sadly was in dire need last time!

mustbemad17 · 02/06/2018 10:04

Ladies i'm so disappointed this morning! Had some really intense tightenings until early hours, make your eyes water type...and they've stopped again! Now just mild period type pain. How bummed am i!!

Re hospital bag i think i have gone OTT! I'm planning a home birth tho so my thinking is if i have to be transferred the liklihood is we will be in for a few days after; i have 4 vests in one size, 4 in another, same with sleepsuits. Hats, mitts...my bag is full to bursting 🙈🙈

How are you all this morning?

lmx0 · 02/06/2018 10:35

@MamamamaT i never even thought of piles!!! Hopefully ill not have that trouble but i shall get stuff in just incase!!! Better to be looking at it rather than for it!! Im exhausted today feel like i didnt have a great sleep last night and stuck in work and it warm and busy 😢 oh and my back hurts lol
you will be glad to have him moved into his own room and bed hope the move goes well!!

mustbemad17 · 02/06/2018 10:44

mamamamaT i forgot about lansinoh!! Must add it to my list. We are cloth nappying this time, i am sooooo excited every time i see them in my bag 🙈

lmx0 · 02/06/2018 10:54

Awww no way!!!! I was really hoping to come on here and see you & @WreckItRach where having newborn cuddles!! Your baby really is being a tease!! Hopefully it wont be long and hopefully your home birth will all go to plan and a hospital stay wont be needed

LostMyBaubles · 02/06/2018 10:55

Im struggling so much moving atm.

More so at night. Pgp is all day and worse at night
Feel achy every where today. Have sharp like pain lower left side stomach.

Hes been quite this morning so will take it easy to catch his movements

Re hosp bag
Ive got
4 vests
1 coming home outfit
4 baby grows
1 jacket
1 blanket
Some bibs and muslin cloth.
Need to pop socks and hat in

For me so far
Old pjs
Pads
Towel which i might take out as i can use hosp towel

I have bad labours so I pack a lil more as i might be in longer

Mustbe hopefully your body is just having a lil rest and all will kick off soon

mustbemad17 · 02/06/2018 11:06

My MW was very excited tho when i updated this morning as things are working in the right direction. Just have to be patient...not my strong point.

I debated taking out my towel as hospital supply them but i bought a lovely new set so we could have the old ones for the birth...it's so soft i might be reduced to tears if they gave me an older, rougher one 😂 i'm so precious haha

LostMyBaubles · 02/06/2018 11:54

Thats good must. Defo all in the right direction!

Ahhh yeah the ones at hosp are on the rougher side arent they

WreckItRach · 02/06/2018 17:37

Little Max was born at 2pm this afternoon with an "emergency" csection. I use air quotes because it was more chilled than that, I had my waters broken, turns out Max was breech, so they stationed the troops and half an hour later we walked to surgery.
He is 6lb 13oz and gorgeous 😊

LostMyBaubles · 02/06/2018 18:17

Omg
😍😍
Congrats!!!
How are you feeling??
And wow! 4 hours later your ok enough to update us all!! Thank you!!

MamamamaT · 02/06/2018 18:34

Huge congratulations WreckitRach that's lovely news and love the name Max! Xxx

Mustbemad oh well done you, we did cloth nappies for ages but eventually I got fed up and switched to beaming baby, it breaks the bank though (at least we're only on nighttime nappies now) so will give cloth another try.

Yep lmx0 sadly I had them badly which is really common but gr some reason the midwives were a bit crap seemed to be totally unprepared for that eventually and even when I asked they only gave me a herbal cooling thing.

Can I say for spd/pgp I found done videos on YouTube which were a godsend. For a few weeks I was really suffering with it and constantly felt like u was about to pull something but there are some Pilates style exercises that have literally sorted it out completely. I'll find the link x

LostMyBaubles · 02/06/2018 18:52

Ooo please do link
My pgp spd what ever it wants to call itself is a pita
3 weeks until I see physio at the hosp.
I do all the other things they recommend- keep pelvis lined, pillow at night in between knees, keep legs closed not to cross leg etc

mustbemad17 · 02/06/2018 19:22

Eeeek huge congrats wreckit, you must be so relieved to have baby cuddles! Been hoping you'd have some good news with your next post.

I had quite bad spd, had crutches for a while. Accupuncture is a bloody godsend, i cannot recommend it enough if you can find someone maternity qualified. I had one 45 minute session & have been pain free for four weeks....i intend to go back once monkey arrives so he can do some corrective work 😂

lmx0 · 02/06/2018 19:23

@LostMyBaubles sounds like a good guide 😊
Its nicer to have your own towels i think it has a bit of a homely feel too it
@WreckItRach awww congrats!!! Max 💙 love the name hope you are both doing well and you've had a massive bar of choccy you deffo deserve it!!
@MamamamaT what did you find good for helping them?

Rochyella84 · 02/06/2018 19:26

@mustbemad17.....I'm with you. I'm on day 3 now of very regular tightenings that come in a pattern and get stronger and then just stop. It is so frustrating and I'm starting to get quite upset now when it never progresses. How far along are you?

@WreckItRach congrats! Gorgeous name!

mustbemad17 · 02/06/2018 19:41

Rochyella84 i'm 39+1 today, had a very quiet day tightening wise. Altho he now feels like he's determined to come through the front of my pubic bone!!! It is so disheartening isn't it

robotcartrainhat · 02/06/2018 19:45

has anyone elses teeth suddenly become super sensitive? Saw the dentist and they said nothing is actually wrong with them and its probably just pregnancy hormones making my gums sore.... but im in so much pain anytime I eat or drink!!
Especially with ice. So bang goes my plan of cooling down with ice lollies this summer.... GREAT!!!
