We are just at the end of a staycation following our 1st wedding anniversary... poor DH. Nothing for him but still very loving. As are you I'm terrified of anything making the spotting worse. My lower back is quite sore but I'm not sure if its that or worry. How is everyone else on the aches and pains?xx

kaytees · 07/05/2018 19:54

Ahhh @MagicalCreatures I figured it wasn't twins. So pleased all is well with you and bean though!! As you say there's still a way to go but seeing that heartbeat must have just felt like a weight off shoulders.

I have my scan next Saturday and am just desperately hoping all is ok. Haven't had any spotting etc, and have really been having to hold down the sickness etc, but I can't shake this fear that something will be wrong. As a result sex has been well and truly off the menu - thankfully DH remembers my horrific morning sickness from last time and knows to stay away!

Martydog · 07/05/2018 19:56

My husband has been away with work for the last 3 weeks won't be back for another 2 weeks so sex has been impossible even if I wanted to. To be honest I'm so tired when I go to bed I just want to sleep.

Cakelaur · 07/05/2018 20:15

I'm so glad I'm not the only one!! As for sickness it's not morning, it's all bloody day. Haven't been sick! Heaved a few times, but can't find much food out here that I fancy eating. I'm living off pizza, tomatoes and cucumber. Haha. But I'm a bit fed up of cheese!!! Can't wait to get home, only to have a range of food. And ice lollies!!! I miss ice lollies!!! I start the 24hour journey tomorrow with a 2 hour car ride!!! Cue motion sickness, then 24hour plane. Then 6hour round trip to pick my gorgeous pup up!! I am not looking forward to tomorrow!! But I'm 8 weeks tomorrow. 1/5th of the way through!

Sex blergh!!!! Far too bloated for that

kaytees · 07/05/2018 20:29

@Cakelaur YES! All bloody day is right. I keep thinking I'm going to throw up but only have once so far... I feel for you having that long journey. I had a 4 hour round trip today in the car and it wasn't pleasant.

Now off to find an ice lolly, you've inspired me!

Athers666 · 07/05/2018 20:43

Think I might be out. Symptoms have now well and truly gone. Boobs seem to be shrinking, no nausea, no tiredness. Just nothing. Have broken out in spots. Just feel in a non pregnant state again. This is what happened last time unfortunately. DH and I are crushed. I don't know if I can bear to try again when this is all over.

peachesarenom · 07/05/2018 21:04

That's a really nice way to think of it 1/5th of the way through!

peachesarenom · 07/05/2018 21:10

My pregnancy book says spots are a symptom, I have spots!Athers666

MagicalCreatures · 07/05/2018 21:21

Well my DH turned around today and said no sex for 9 months. He’s too scared coz of what we went through last time. I did tell him the first trimester is a defo no go but after that it’s fine. But he’s being insistent. 😂 I think he’ll change his mind though.

The sickness thing is weird for me. I’ve had a few occasions where I’ve thought, oh god here it comes. And then it just doesn’t.
A lot of random nausea. Mostly in the mornings for me and then abit more later on.
Athers how many weeks would you be now. I’ve had quite bad spots through this pregnancy which is weird for me. Never really suffered with spots x

Primrose16 · 07/05/2018 21:26

@Athers666 try not to worry and think worse. Symptoms can come and go, tomorrow you might feel differently. I’m currently a little spotty too. Could you arrange a scan to set your mind at rest. With my daughter I had all day sickness (morning sickness is a myth) but it did come and go to make me worry.

xLeanne128 · 07/05/2018 21:49

@athers666 completely understand how you feel I've been there twice now 🙈 and I'm sure I'll be there again!! Had 2 reassurance scans now and little bean is growing nicely. Try not to worry I've had spotting brown and pink and I haven't had a single symptom but bean is real! Xx

Athers666 · 08/05/2018 08:43

Thanks everyone. I have been speaking to a friend of mine who says she had smyptoms at all and was so worried. Her daughter is now two! I'm not sure of I said, I do have a lovely dd already, she is...shock horror...14! So it was a long time ago when I was really young, but thinking back I didn't have sickness with her until much later on and that was only twice as far as I can recall. I just can't shake the feeling that something isn't quite right. I haven't had spotting or anything which I had when I had the early loss. Will try and relax but it's so so hard. Even more spotty today, all over my cheeks and round my mouth, it is gross!

kaytees · 08/05/2018 08:52

@Athers666 it's hard isn't it - if you do have symptoms you feel awful, but if you don't you feel so worried! As everyone else has said, spots are pretty normal (though I agree they are v unpleasant!). I would say no spotting is a good sign - you may have already said but do you have an early scan booked? X

Athers666 · 08/05/2018 09:10

@kaytees I don't have a scan booked yet, the midwife sent the notes to the hospital and now I just have to wait and see x

Primrose16 · 08/05/2018 21:33

I was soooooo sick before tea tonight 🤢. Part of me is yay, the other part is noooooooo

Wiggle4 · 09/05/2018 06:45

Hi everyone,
New to the boards. I'm 8+1 following still birth 6 months ago. EDD is 18th December and anxiety is through the roof! Going to be a looooong pregnancy!

Primrose16 · 09/05/2018 07:58

@Wiggle4 welcome, that must have been horrendous I can’t even imagine. Completely understand how your anxiety must be so high.

Wiggle4 · 09/05/2018 08:03

Thanks @Primrose16 it was awful and my feelings this pregnancy are like a rollercoaster already but it's comforting to know that there are others in the same boat! Have a scan and consultant appointment this morning so fingers crossed all is good. How far along are you?

Athers666 · 09/05/2018 08:51

@wiggle4 welcome! I'm so very sorry for your loss. Wishing your well for your scan x

Primrose16 · 09/05/2018 09:12

@Wiggle4 will you get more support this pregnancy. I hope your scan goes well.
I’m 7 weeks tomorrow. Had 2 miscarriages this year. I have a 17 month old girl and had 2 losses before her. So if this pregnancy follows the pattern of 3rd time lucky then should be okay. But we all know are bodies are so unpredictable

kaytees · 09/05/2018 11:01

Welcome @Wiggle4 - understandable that you would have so much anxiety, I hope you're being supported well this time and getting enough midwife checks etc... just such a horrendous thing to go through, I cannot even imagine.

The sickness with me is still at a similar level, have had my booking appointment this morning so hoping all the bloods etc come back normal. Anyone know roughly how long they take to come back?

Wiggle4 · 09/05/2018 11:51

Thanks for the welcome ladies.
Scan went well-8 weeks 4 days according to measurements. So far so good but as I'm sure many of you know, it offers little comfort!
@Primrose16 I'm under consultant care this time and we'll be seen at least every 4 weeks for scan but they said today if I want to come in every other week they'll see me. This is only my second pregnancy with the first ending in still birth at 24 weeks. Have been prescribed aspirin this time which should reduce the chance of it happening again by 80%

Wiggle4 · 09/05/2018 11:53

@kaytees mine took about a week to come back I think but they won't call you unless there's a problem-at least that's how it is here anyway

kaytees · 09/05/2018 16:13

Thank you @Wiggle4 - I imagine it's the same here. I'm glad the scan went well though can also understand you'd still be worried. Good that they can see you every couple of weeks if you feel you need the reassurance, it sounds like they're really looking out for you.

@Primrose16 I'm interested - if you have a 17 month old, how do you stop her climbing / jumping on your tummy? I'm sure I'm just being a worrier but my son (2yo) is doing a lot of climbing / pushing my tummy and I don't quite know how to get him to stop
