37 WEEKS TOMORROW!

Officially 'full term' and counting down the days Grin

Anyone else feel like they're on the home stretch?

I've had words with the bump and we're in agreement that anywhere between 38 and 39 weeks will be acceptable. 42 weeks will not.

I’m 38+6 today and I felt the same the moment I hit 37 weeks. Everything was ready, work was done... Still waiting and baby is not at all interested in coming out any time soon I’m sure. It really didn’t help that everyone has been telling me all pregnancy that he’ll come early and my midwife said a while back, “you won’t need to be induced or anything like that.” So I was fully prepared to embrace him slightly before his due date. I’m very quickly realising no one can predict this, and assuming he will be 2 weeks late now will only allow me a pleasant surprise if he does get a wriggle on before then. I’m just so impatient!

I hope you don’t have to wait for 42 weeks either! Come on babies!

BabyBooDue · 05/04/2018 12:14

emvy I finish work this week, can't wait! Have you enjoyed the time you've had off so far?

I'm 38+2 and definitely ready for baby to be out now!!! My tiredness, grumpiness, back ache, dizziness, sleeplessness seem to have gotten worse over the past week and I'll be devastated if I go overdue!!

Emvy I was told baby was likely to come early as well and now I wish this was never mentioned as I now feel like time is dragging!

BabyBooDue · 05/04/2018 12:43

Have either of you been trying to bring baby along? I'm hoping when I finish work to get out for plenty of walks and try and keep baby in a good position! I'm on my feet all day at work which is exhausting but I don't want to get too used to sitting on the couch when I'm finished Grin

I'm 39+2 and still waiting.. Also had words with bump and I thought we agreed before 40 weeks.. But the baby seems to be very comfy! No early labour signs, and I've been walking a fair amount and keeping active, on the gym ball, drinking raspberry leaf tea and even nipple tweaking every now and then. Everyone told me that first babies are always late though.. So maybe that's going to be true in my case also - eek!

Namechangemum100 · 05/04/2018 14:00

Baby #2 and I'm currently 40+4...DD made me wait until 41+4...my babies like to keep me waiting 😤

Lou0390 · 05/04/2018 14:19

I'm 36 weeks with my second and I finish work next week.
I'm really grumpy, tired and achy and not sure I can keep going. My 1st was born at 38 weeks so I am hoping it will be the case for this one.
Pretty much got everything organised but I am at the point I don't care anymore lol.
Entertaining a toddler when you can barley walk is not much fun!

BabyBooDue · 05/04/2018 14:57

Noooo I'm not happy with all these babies being so uncooperative!

I was born at 36 weeks and my sister born at 38 weeks so I've stupidly convinced myself that I'll take after my Mam and obviously my baby will behave and come soon Smile I'm over pregnancy now - and my swollen feet agree with me!

ForeverHopeful21 · 05/04/2018 15:33

I've been walking, rotating and bouncing on ball, drinking raspberry leaf tea but no signs that baby is ready to leave yet!
Next step is getting my DH to do pressure points on feet / ankles.
Everyone keeps telling me that baby will come when ready but I feel determined not to go overdue haha x

Oysterbabe · 05/04/2018 15:38

I felt like I was ok until I got 37 weeks and was then suddenly GET THIS CHILD OUT OF ME.
He came at 40+4 and that was the longest few weeks of my life.

emvy · 05/04/2018 16:48

I’ve been doing the same things as you guys to help hurry baby along but he’s not budging! I’ve enjoyed my time off so far as I’m a teacher and as lots of my friends are too, they’ve also been off and I’ve been able to keep myself busy and entertained. Not looking forward to them all going back next week! I think I’m going to book myself in for a haircut and to get my nails done next week in the hope I’ll be cancelling the appointments but also giving me nice things to look forward to if I’m still waiting.

Has anyone had any niggles yet? I’ve been getting backache, loads of Braxton Hicks and perriod type pains but I swear it’s all just teasing me and I always wake up the next morning feeling fine.

Shanners123 · 05/04/2018 17:03

I've had pelvic pain.. Although sometimes at night I convince myself it's period type cramps and possibly the start of something.. And then by morning I remember it's just my pelvis being squashed and me feeling like I'm 80 years old! Just back from reflexology which just felt like a nice foot massage.. But let's hope it starts something!

emvy · 05/04/2018 17:31

I do the exact same thing Shanners! By the end of the day I can barely move from the discomfort on my pelvis - convinced things will get going overnight and then wake up in the morning completely fine! Reflexology sounds lovely!

strawberrysparkle · 05/04/2018 17:38

I'm 38+6 and still waiting! Booked my nails and hair in thinking I would have to cancel and I didn't! I keep having odd pains that make me think it's starting but it never happens! Have also convinced myself I'll be a 42 weeker!

ForeverHopeful21 · 06/04/2018 07:37

I've had no braxton hicks, no pains, no heaviness .....I think my baby is never going to come out Hmm
I've already have my haircut, pedicure and legs waxed and now I'm wondering if I jinxed it haha.

NellythePink · 06/04/2018 07:39

OP, is your due date the 26th? Mine is, I've just started to freak out about the birth and beyond. It's all very exciting though Smile2 weeks and 6 days!

Cloudwalk · 06/04/2018 07:45

Literally so good to hear others in the same position! Am 39+6, hitting the steps every day, raspberry leaf tea, you name it.

Had a moment on Monday when it could have been 'it', all the right motions & pain, so went to bed (like they tell you too to get some rest) and it disappeared POOF!!!!

Now Friday and so ready for us to meet him/her!!!

Aspenn17 · 06/04/2018 08:06

Hi all, 38+3 here and also feeling impatient! Was told to expect baby early as I’m measuring a couple of weeks ahead size wise but feel like the MW may have got my hopes up for no reason!
If baby isn’t here by 12th I have to go in for an induction convo with the consultant so I’m feeling the pressure for her to come naturally before then.

@emvy- EXACTLY the same. Nighttime I have period pains and so much discomfort I keep thinking it’s the start and then by the morning I’m fine again!

emvy · 06/04/2018 08:45

All the babies due around me are coming fast as well - so many new arrivals over the past week but mine is staying firmly put where he is!

I also had a moment last night where I thought things were starting (again) - wave like sharp pains from my lower back around to my pelvis but I think it was actually just baby burrowing himself further down as I managed to fall asleep eventually and they’ve gone this morning! So jealous of everyone’s newborn photos! I’m officially 39 weeks today and trying to resign myself to another 3 weeks.

Aspenn, I hope your little one gets a wriggle on before induction! I guess they’ll be looking to induce me in a couple of weeks ish if things don’t get moving naturally although I’ve not had that conversation with my midwife yet.

Shanners123 · 06/04/2018 09:20

Like that Aspen I am 40 weeks on Tuesday and have an apt to go in then to discuss induction, which makes me very nervous. I'd much rather the baby just sprung it on me (although if we can put in suggestions maybe around this time of day when I've had a few hours sleep and breakfast so am all prepared Grin)

The questions are starting too - where everyone starts their conversation with me by saying "Still no sign of the baby?" or "Any news???" Confused

Ninjamilo · 06/04/2018 09:22

37 weeks here too

I really want her to appear before 42 weeks as I'd love my ideal home water birth, but it's up to her I guess!

Good luck!

pomelo33 · 06/04/2018 14:35

Joining to say hello! I'm 37+2 and feeling ready.

Had a growth scan this week where the doctor said the baby was 'deeply engaged', not sure if that means she's likely to come sooner rather than later... no Braxton Hicks at all so far - is that normal? Plenty of kicking and back pain, that's for sure...

Chipsahoy · 06/04/2018 21:37

36weeks here and want baby to stay put for two more weeks until my Dc2 birthday, then he can come right away. I'm heavy, I'm sore, I'm tired. Get Out out out (in two weeks).Wink

BabyBooDue · 06/04/2018 22:28

@emvy I've had a few niggles! Quite a lot of BH and a few period type pains, but then they stop fairly quickly. It's frustrating but I just keep trying to remind myself that it's all part of my body getting ready Grin

@NellythePink it certainly is! Less than 3 weeks for us, I'm starting to feel especially excited now that my maternity leave has started, although it did all make it very real that baby will be here soon! I've wrote a list of things I still need to buy....

@pomelo33 totally normal! Not everyone gets Braxton Hicks Smile good that the baby is engaged too, my MW said baby was 3/5 engaged at my last appointment. I need to get bouncing on the ball and aim for 2/5 at my next app!

I could have written all these posts myself! 38+2 and convinced I would go early but bump seems happy where she is. Lots of period cramps and aches in pelvis also accompanied by delightful shooting pains down my thighs and vag which are awful! Soooooo ready now! All the ladies from my ante natal classes are having their babies :( due 19th April and thought of going over that makes me want to cry!
