Help!! My colleague's just about to buy me one! Is it whipped ice-cream or is it OK to eat

Quootiepie · 10/05/2007 12:25

I would say it was ok, yes

Ceebee74 · 10/05/2007 12:25

I think it is ok - I certainly partook in quite a few whilst pregnant

Princesspowersparkle · 10/05/2007 12:26

I heard no, but please tell me yes!!!!!

becklespeckle · 10/05/2007 12:26

Hmmmm, I would avoid as is semi-soft ice cream isn't it? Think it comes out of a whippy thing too and I know you can't have whippy ice cream. I am very overcautious in pg tho - and all the nice stuff seems to be banned!

foxybrown · 10/05/2007 12:26

I would. But then I had a big mac the other week ... dirrrrrrty food!

Quootiepie · 10/05/2007 12:27

Back in the day I worked in KFC and they did the same thing - it is just milk stuff poured in and whipped up - cleaner and safer than the ice cream vans 99er thing

Uki · 10/05/2007 12:30

I wouldn't but then, I don't eat MD's because it isn't food, it's full of crap, and not even food, sorry but you asked

beckmo · 10/05/2007 12:30

Can she get me one too?

Tutter · 10/05/2007 12:31

god yes

i ate loads of the creme egg ones when pg with ds1

prob not on the 'things you def should eat for baby' list, but blardy lovely all the same

(yes i'm sure they're full of shite before someone says so)

willywonka · 10/05/2007 12:44

Probably can, just not sure why you would want to?! (McD's are for toilet stops only at the Wonka factory grin])

Babylovesmuffins · 10/05/2007 12:49

Sob... Think I'm going to have to give it away

It's so difficult...

Off to buy a salad (and loads of chocolate to make up for not being able to eat the ..."you know what")

I'm not normally this good but being cautious as 1st pg...

RGPargy · 10/05/2007 13:00

I didn't know you couldn't eat a Mr Whippy til i read that article in the Times. I think i had one the other week (but i cant remember!).

Erk.

willywonka · 10/05/2007 13:02

I finished dd's Mr Whippy on Sunday. Didn't know it was a banned substance

Babylovesmuffins · 10/05/2007 13:55

Oh sod it! I'm just going to have it anyway! Yummy....

OP posts:
willywonka · 10/05/2007 15:42

And did you have the "making up for it" chocolate too...

Babylovesmuffins · 10/05/2007 16:29

No I've been very good today apart from my McFlurry!! Had a healthy home-made soup and a roll with salad, so no chocolate!! Even have an apple sitting on my desk in case I get hungry again.

OP posts:
foxybrown · 10/05/2007 16:44

Was it lovely???

Yum, I want one now

Babylovesmuffins · 10/05/2007 16:50

Yes it was lovely! Did I mention it was a Cadbury's Caramel McFlurry....

twelveyeargap · 10/05/2007 16:53

I worked in McD's years ago. They use pre-pasturised mix in the machines and there is a specially trained person on the morning and evening shift to take the machine apart and put it back together again, spotlessly clean. NOT like a Mr Whippy van at all.

You're fine. Enjoy it.
