Is my gender scan wrong?

Hi everyone, I had my private gender scan at 16+4 last night and was told I'm having a little boy! I've been looking at the scan pictures and I'm now doubting and I think I see a girl. When initially looking at the photo you would say definitely boy so I've highlighted where I think the umbilical cord is and where I think I see girl parts. Please help?!

It's a girl if you see three lines. I think that's a boy.

ladymelbourne1926 · 20/03/2018 08:36

I think it's a boy. You get three lines with a girl.

TheVanguardSix · 20/03/2018 08:36

It's a boy. Don't doubt clinicians who do this all day, every day. They know what they're looking at.

Chienrouge · 20/03/2018 08:37

Looks like a boy to me. I have two girls and the 3 lines were very clear on the scan.

dancingunicorns123 · 20/03/2018 08:40

Thank you everyone!!

I think I see 3 lines though🙈 @ladymelbourne1926

Honestly, that looks nothing like the 3 lines of a girl.

BossWitch · 20/03/2018 08:44

Sex not gender...

MynameisJune · 20/03/2018 08:44

That isn’t the cord. Without being an expert I’d say 99% that’s a boy.

BoredOnMatLeave · 20/03/2018 08:44

I'm terrible with scans but I can clearly see a boy

user1499786242 · 20/03/2018 08:46

Deffo looks like a boy!

ladymelbourne1926 · 20/03/2018 08:46

Honestly I don't think that looks like 3 girl lines.
I would say 99% boy.

Fliptopdustbinlid · 20/03/2018 08:46

That 'potty' shot is defo a boy

KochabRising · 20/03/2018 08:47

Sex, not gender.

It’s not ever exact - there’s always a margin of error, even at 20 weeks, it’s not perfect. They should be reasonably sure before they give you an answer one way or another - they’d never just guess.
If you want the most accurate way of sexing the foetus you need to use one of the NIPT genetic methods.

EasterRobin · 20/03/2018 08:50

Looks like a boy to me too. Congratulations!

thekingfisher · 20/03/2018 09:07

whoever said the experts know they look at these day in day out - got mine wrong!

dancingunicorns123 · 20/03/2018 09:07

@BossWitch @KochabRising sorry if I got it wrong but the scans are called gender scans...

I would say boy. That looks exactly the same as DS’s scan pic

BiologyMatters · 20/03/2018 09:10

Thats so obviously a willy! Congrats you're having a boy Grin

KochabRising · 20/03/2018 09:14

Dont apologise, it’s their mistake ;)

Congratulations whatever you’re having :)

ladymelbourne1926 · 20/03/2018 09:15

Congratulations Smile

happymumof4crazykids · 20/03/2018 09:16

I would say boy too! I've had 2 of each and that looks nothing like my girl scans and a lot like my boys scans.

dancingunicorns123 · 20/03/2018 09:16

Thank you everyone! We were hoping for a boy (obviously would've been happy either way) and when she told us we were so shocked that we were doubting so much😂😂

Definitely a boy! Looks very similar to my gender scan!
