I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.
MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk
If you need help in obtaining medication, phone them on:
024 7638 2020
Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy
I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.
Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Awww yay congratulations nailsathome! Beautiful names for beautiful babies. I hope you will all be feeling well enough to go home soon xxx

Olivecake · 13/06/2018 10:09

Foodylicious that sounds so tough, I can imagine it’s so hard feeling as bad as we do with having your little one to look after too and being busy. Is there anyone else (family member, friend) who could come over and clear the room for you and help with receiving the carpet so you can get some rest?

Hotchocolate86 · 13/06/2018 10:58

Congratulations nails. What beautiful babies. I hope you are all well and can go home soon.
foody I constantly feel I am letting my little boy down as well feeling so rough but I’m trying to console myself with the fact it will be a relatively short period of his life and hopefully the benefits of having a sibling close in age will outweigh the period of hyperemesis.
lucinda how are you feeling now? Have you finished your antibiotics?

LucindaE · 13/06/2018 11:05

nailsathome That is wonderful. How sweet. I always forget how tiny even singleton newborns are - twins are like dolls. So happy for you. Flowers Star Smile Brew. I am so happy that the sickness has gone.
Foodylicious I can only echo Olivecake; can you get anyone to help out? The hormonal surges to make for a resurgence of symptoms, unfortunately. Usually, it doesn't last, but it is very discouraging. I remember well how one is emotional at birthdays - but it is wonderful to see a baby turn into his or her own person.
I hope I get my PC back tomorrow, as the library is shut this afternoon and tomorrow. Mother Hen's thoughts are with everyone. Nails's lovely photo is very encouraging for current sufferers.
Olivecake Before I have to go - I hope you are managing OK?

Hotchocolate Cross posted. I am fine, the nausea was mild, but I disappeared for a while, as my unmentionable PC crashed doing microsoft updates last week, and had to go to be sorted out by Mario the Computer Man, who doesn't Like-a to be Hurried. Meanwhile, I am using the library PC. On top of everything else, the Mumsnet system blocked me out when I had to change the password. A real saga.
I hope you are not overdoing it and have got seating arrangements in place at work or time off!

Nails Sorry - I missed that about your not feeling well, even if not sick. I hope it is getting better. Do keep us informed. Once again, what lovely babies. Flowers

Nails huge congratulations, and so pleased you aren't feeling sick!! Hope you and the twins all improve soon, they are gorgeous.

Foody sending lots of sympathy, I had some years the other day that I was having such a rubbish day at 28 weeks, sorry to hear you're actually vomiting again, I've had lots of retching but no actual vomits for a while now. Hope a few days off work help, even if they are busy, and you enjoy your little one's party at the weekend.

Olivecake · 13/06/2018 19:36

Thanks For asking Lucinda - have to admit I’m feeling a bit sorry for myself, doctor recommended total rest until I feel brighter which does help slightly but still feeling horribly nauseous and vomiting regularly. Getting a bit worried that I’m not getting anything healthy we can’t seem to keep my vitamins down and anything I do eat or drink is soda or a crisp.

Foodylicious · 13/06/2018 21:01

Massive congratulations nails
Just beautiful.
Hope you are all recovered and home together soon x

Elephantgrey · 13/06/2018 21:54

Congratulations nails what beautiful babies and lovely names! I hope you feel better soon.

LucindaE · 14/06/2018 18:17

The PC is finally back, after over a week.
Olivecake Sorry to hear that - remind me what meds you have now been put on, as I can't find that post? It sounds as if they could be working a lot better! Do you find tinned fruit and its juice any good? Many swear by peaches. It is worrying, but the babies take all the nourishment - they will be OK. It is worth speaking to an expert about it on the Pregnancy Sickness Support number on 024 7638 2020 for reassurance.

Congratulations Nails they are beautiful.

Sorry to those of you who are still feeling crap.

I'm feeling quite a lot better and am able to function at the moment, but seem to be getting moments when I'm pretty twitchy, I'm not sure whether or not to change from the metaclopramide but i haven't established if it's that that's causing it or just the excessive amounts of stress this week.

LucindaE · 15/06/2018 15:02

rota I am glad you are feeling a bit better. Hmm - Mother Hen always gets anxious about anyone reporting twitchiness on metroclopramide. I hate to say it, but it's probably a good idea to report it to the doctor just to be on the safe side.

OP posts:
Olivecake · 16/06/2018 13:25

Thanks LucindaE I had tried peach can juice a week or so back but it came back up straight away so didn’t fancy it again but I will give it a try. Have managed to keep my vitamins down the last two days so that makes me feel at least a little better.

I’m still on the emesafene which is Meclozine/Pyridoxine And I believe is the standard here. Dr says they don’t give odanestron and I reacted badly to the metaclopramide so feels like this is my only option for now. Just hoping the worst is over soon but it’s still so early for me, I’m only 8 weeks today so it’s hard not to get quite down thinking I could be like this for months to come.

I will give the PSS line another call on Monday.

Wishing everyone a lovely and healthy weekend x

LucindaE · 16/06/2018 21:25

Olivecake PSS have to ring you back, but they will and will give great advice. I hope they can think of something to help get you through the worst. It is very distressing when you are early on - and of course, it is always at its worst, then - but you will get there. All I can suggest for now is my old cliched advice of an anti acid can make all the difference, if you are not on an effective one already. I know what you mean about being put off by something reappearing. Some swear by the juice of tinned pears.
I hope everyone is coping today.

My goodness, this thread has become quiet of late. I do hope everyone isn't feeling too bad to post?

OP posts:
Hotchocolate86 · 17/06/2018 23:07

Hi lucinda hopefully it’s the opposite and everyone is feeling a bit better and coping well. In terms of my sickness I’m feeling a bit better. For the last week I have been able to take only two ondansetron and one cyclizine a day most days which is much better than the max dose I was on before. I’m hoping I’m turning a corner.
SPD pain is really kicking in though and I’m finding it hard to do things like put my shoes on as I can’t lift my leg up very high. Still if it stays at the level it’s at now it won’t be pleasant but it’s manageable so fingers crossed.
I have put in my maternity leave dates so I will finish in 4 weeks. 3 weeks annual leave and then my maternity will start at 30 weeks. It’s a lot earlier than I wanted but to be honest I think I need it this time. And it does mean I get both the summer off and Christmas which will be lovely.
I hope everyone is feeling ok and not struggling too much.

Boredoftryingusernames · 17/06/2018 23:29

Hotchocolate glad you are doing about better and have managed to reduce your meds. Not long until maternity leave now! I am finishing work earlier than planned at 33 weeks, think has made me feel better knowing the end is in sight for work now!
I also hope the thread is quiet as people are feeling better. I'm not too bad this week, just the normal nausea and tiredness!

LucindaE · 18/06/2018 19:31

Hotchocolate and Boredoftryingusernames I hope the thread is quiet for that reason, too. Smile
Hotchocolate I am so glad you feel a bit better. Roll on maternity leave, for both you and Boredoftryingusernames! You have both both been very stoic. Good news about cutting downon meds.

Congratulations on your beautiful babies nails. Hope you are all doing ok now.

Have literally been surviving the past couple of weeks. Dd2 has gone to the childminder today which has made today a bit easier although my shopping delivery came which led to me hanging over the kitchen sink puking my guts up. Just the sight of the food set me off.

Hope everyone else is doing ok

LucindaE · 19/06/2018 17:32

Troika That sounds awful. What meds are you on and how much can you ingest in the way of fluds/foods?

Just checking in to say hello.
Nausea is mostly under control again.
Exhaustion still hitting me in waves.

Troika that sounds tough.
Thankfully I only had a very short period of total food aversion this time round.

To echo what Lucinda has said,
Are you managing to eat drink enough to keep you going?
Can you have your meds reviewed?

LucindaE · 19/06/2018 19:27

Foodylicious I am so glad that the sickness is controlled. You are probably very run down, and must recover from that, besides growing a new human. Unfortunately it can take a good few weeks after turning the corner to perk up again. Rest as much as you can.

In all honesty Lucinda my MH has not been brilliant the last few weeks.
But yesterday I put my big girl pants on and called my midwife and self referred for some CBT.
MW was great and is referring me for MH midwife too.
It's soooo not easy to admit or talk about, but I feel a little better already for getting the ball rolling
