I seen a poll on a similar website and so I don’t really want to link it.
I hoped we could conduct our own Mumsnet opinion poll. Simply answer in your post.

1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th (postpartum) Trimester, with a reason if you want to give one...

Definitely the first. It's such a lonely time and I seem to get every pregnancy symptom. Sickness, acid reflux, constipation, bloating, exhaustion, headaches... I sailed through the 2nd and 3rd trimesters and found life with a newborn really lovely.

TheCatsMother44 · 09/03/2018 16:06

Third. I'm uncomfortable and I feel like I've been pregnant forever.

RockinRobinTweets · 09/03/2018 16:09

Fourth, without a doubt. A HUGE shock to the system and giving up any trace of being selfish.

I’m torn between 1st and ‘4th’, but I struggled with my recovery both physically and emotionally.

In balance though, I had my baby so it’s 1st for me too.

Third has been the worst for me so far but even that's been manageable :)

shittyshitybangbang · 09/03/2018 16:18

I'm torn between 1st and 3rd. The 1st trimester was just awful i felt nauseas, moody and weak, the 3rd was really hard,I peed every 5 minute,I felt so heavy and the heartburn was unreal.

Foggymist · 09/03/2018 16:18

Third, because with dc1 I was swollen, so uncomfortable and ended up with pre eclampsia. With dc2 I was so terrified of it happening again. Fourth trimester is my favourite time in life ever, even with csection healing and a respiratory infection and a toddler this time round! I'm not really keen on any stage of pregnancy until the 4th Grin

hotelduvin · 09/03/2018 16:23

So far my first three have been a breeze. Didn't look or feel pregnant until I was into the third trimester, and now I can only complain about mild heartburn, insomnia and occasional lightning pain.

I think this means my fourth will be a bloody nightmare, I feel guilty for having such an easy run of it thus far compared to all the other pregnant women I know. Due imminently and I'm worried about what this baby is planning for me!

Third, I'm so uncomfortable and all I want to do is lie on my front lol...have yet to see how the fourth goes yet! I've been incredibly lucky and 1st & 2nd were a walk in the park for me.

stegosauruslady · 09/03/2018 16:45

1st. Absolutely. Mostly due to the tiredness, which I found really extreme (falling asleep on the bus, falling asleep on the couch, falling asleep in the cinema...feeling guilty about doing bugger all with older children).

I loved being giant bellied and feeling a wriggly baby (but then I have never gone overdue, I might feel differently if I had!) I love having newborns. Can't wait to do it again.

RosieCotton · 09/03/2018 17:14

First time round I'd say 4th because of birth trauma but for the rest defiantly 1st. Morning sickness is terrible

MonkeyBrainsInPickle · 09/03/2018 18:51

1st, knackered & felt sick. Third was ok for me, would have happily gone overdue by a couple of weeks.

marmitecheesetoast · 09/03/2018 19:00

1st definitely and I went 10 days overdue! 1st trimester exhaustion was debilitating, plus nausea, vomiting and food aversions. I also fainted a couple of times (low BP). Those were the times I really needed a seat on my work commute but no one knew I was pregnant.

happymummy12345 · 09/03/2018 19:07

4th. Mostly because our baby wasn't well after the birth, so had to stay in hospital for 12 days. I completely understand we are not the only people who go through it, and plenty go through far worse. But having to go home the first time and leave him there was the hardest thing I've ever had to do. So for me the pregnancy and even my long labour were easy compared to that.
Also the stitches and pain and bleeding wasn't nice either.

Oysterbabe · 09/03/2018 19:10

Third.
It seemed to last 30 years, I could barely walk.

For me it's a tie between first and fourth.

Second was a breeze, third was obviously a bit uncomfortable but I still enjoyed it.

AutumnalTed · 10/03/2018 07:47

1st and 3rd hardest, 4th the easiest and 2nd mediocre.

londonloves · 10/03/2018 07:47

4th, because of breast feeding difficulties and interfering in laws! Pregnancy had it's tough moments but nothing was as bad as the crippling feeling of failure due to not being able to breastfeed. I honestly don't know if I will ever get over it.

confusedandemployed · 10/03/2018 07:48

First, with the 4th running a close second. However I was so bone-achingly tired in the 1st. At least in the 4th I did manage to adjust and DD was a pretty good baby.

Thank you, please keep sharing your experiences.

I hope this thread will ultimately work as a ‘your not alone’ reassurance link if someone is struggling in the ‘easy barely pregnant’ first trimester or the ‘how can you be struggling you have a beautiful baby!?’ forth trimester.

Third with this pregnancy definitely. Currently 40+2 and all the lovely 1st trimester symptoms; heartburn, headaches, sickness, constantly needing to pee, etc are back with a vengeance but added to the fact I can't roll over in bed without a 5 minute run up, I feel like I'm being beaten up from the inside out, I can't carry the 2yo so everything is done at his super slow pace and constant questions about whether I've had the baby yet! Just want it out now please.

Arapaima · 10/03/2018 07:57

Third for me. I put on too much weight and I was the size of a small whale!

AgainPlease · 10/03/2018 07:58

The 1st by a long mile. So uncertain, constantly knicker checking, taking tests to see if I progress by weeks, horrendous sickness. Had a very small bump so never had trouble or was uncomfortable approaching the late stages of pregnancy.
