I seen a poll on a similar website and so I don’t really want to link it.
I hoped we could conduct our own Mumsnet opinion poll. Simply answer in your post.

1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th (postpartum) Trimester, with a reason if you want to give one...

Each pregnancy has been different! My first baby the 1st tri was by far the worst. I’d never felt exhaustion like it! Second pregnancy was 3rd tri with pre-e. This time the entire pregnancy has been awful. I’m nearly 36 weeks and the hip pain, high bp and feeling generally uncomfortable is awful but the stress of all my bleeds and complications in 1st and 2nd were not easy at all!

silkpyjamasallday · 10/03/2018 08:17

I had HG for the full forty weeks so it was all pretty awful, but the first trimester was the worst, I was puking 20+ times a day and through the night, I could barely get myself from the bed or sofa to the bathroom so spent most of a good few weeks just sat by the loo with my water bottle. By the second trimester I was only puking 10 times a day and had the energy to walk a little more. Giving birth and having a newborn was so so much easier than pregnancy!

1st pregnancy was awful throughout, I can't actually pin point which bit was worse! Prem birth and in NICU so 4th trimester was pretty shitty too!!

2nd pregnancy: 1st and 2nd trimesters were a dream. 3rd trimester was the worst... So very uncomfortable and then baby turned breach so I had a skull lodged under my rib cage! Pelvic pain. Awful Braxton Hicks. Varicose veins. Piles like walnuts. Just grim! There was times I actually thought "maybe that 3rd trimester in an incubator wasn't so bad after all".

Girlwiththearabstrap · 10/03/2018 09:07

I have fairly smooth pregnancies (apart from pre eclampsia) so I feel a bit bad for saying any of them! But probably the first emotionally because I was really anxious about having a miscarriage and it can feel a bit lonely not telling anyone.
Physically I've always felt fine. Apart from the pre eclampsia which was painful. So I guess 3rd too?

Fourth. Dangerously ill with an infection and in dreadful pain from failed episiotomy. The pain of labour was bearable because it felt purposeful and I knew it was finite. The one saving grace was that I found breastfeeding mostly easy and established an excellent supply because pretty much all I could do was sit and feed.

tortelliniforever · 10/03/2018 09:25

With dS1 - 1st trimester. It was difficult psychologically as my dr had told me to interrupt the pregnancy as I had taken (medical) drugs which were harmful to the baby. It took the whole of the 1st trimester to find out this wasn't the case and I was trying not to bond as I thought I would lose him.
Next pregnancy was twins so probably the completely sleep deprived fourth trimester as the pregnancy wasn't that hard.

4th with my first baby
1st with second baby

Thirtyrock39 · 10/03/2018 16:25

1st ....scary, secretive, overwhelming tiredness and nausea- having to wait till 12 week scan till it's ok to get excited and feel it's definitely a baby in there

coffeeforone · 10/03/2018 17:04

Fourth. Easy pregnancy, ok labour, just the pure shock to the system in those first few weeks, struggling to feed, and didn’t bond with DS immediately.

DramaAlpaca · 10/03/2018 17:06

1st for all three of mine, thanks to debilitating sickness & tiredness.

Shaunieh95 · 10/03/2018 21:11

Third by a mile 😩, I didn't even feel pregnant until I was in my third then it hit me like a brick wall.

However I was lucky enough to not get symptoms at first

gryffen · 10/03/2018 21:56

Second.

Even through I'm consultant based the 8 weeks between scans is a bloody nightmare. I wanna be able to feel baby properly and have reassurance but near impossible to tell at this rate even though second pregnancy

Sweetiedarlingletmein · 10/03/2018 22:02

3rd. Huge swollen feet/ankles, boiling hot, couldn’t sleep, uncomfortable, acid reflux after everything I ate. 2nd trimester was a breeze!

TalkFastThinkSlow · 10/03/2018 22:05

1st. I was constantly exhausted, starving and nauseous!

Macaronibaloni · 10/03/2018 22:15

Had a pretty crap pregnancy as my exP was shitty throughout (he never wanted the baby) BUT I am torn between 3rd and 4th trimester... so uncomfortable in 3rd trimester (fanny daggers OUCHY) then I had a traumatic birth and could barely move around properly for the first week after birth - felt so weak for probably a month after! Poor DD was probably thinking get a grip mum lol.

elQuintoConyo · 10/03/2018 22:29

2nd/4th it's a tie.

1st trimester was fine.

2nd trimester i was constantly nauseous, like being on a boat in a storm, constantly on the brink of vomming but not actually vommming. Except a handful of times - at the midwife's getting a 3-hour blood test, on the bus into a disabled man's coat hood, in a few street bins, boss' bin. Not much puke at home!

3rd trimester i had fanny daggers, but i wasn't uncomfortable, i slept well.

4th was fucking hideous, hated having a newborn: the isolation, the panic, the boredom, the fucked sleep. DS had awful colic for 4 months, screamed from 6pm-11pm. One day cried 10am-6pm, then 8pm-midnight. No family near, no one else with dc to talk about what was right/not right etc. Added to which his forceps/shoulder distocia birth was beyond awful and i still haven't recoverd 6.5 years on.

Hence DS is an only Grin

DuckBilledAardvark · 10/03/2018 22:32

1 and 3. 2 was bliss. 4 I was just relieved to not be pregnant, getting up every hour is easier than being pregnant.

I'm sure I had some form of pre-natal depression, I cannot function when pregnant, I just need to sleep and even walking short distances is too much, my poor first second child spent a lot of time playing in his room alone.

Joskar · 10/03/2018 22:40

Dc1 - "4th" - because she wouldn't feed from the boob at all until til 3 weeks , I was by myself up a hill, off grid, argh!

DC2 - 1st - all the sick all the time

Dc3 - 3rd - SPD was brutal and still is

1st.

Morning sickness

schnubbins · 11/03/2018 08:40

1st trimester for me .I vomited my way through it.The third I really enjoyed, maternity leave in early summer and getting ready for a new baby. 20 years later still remember it as being a lovely time.

fitbitbore · 11/03/2018 08:41

Third with both. I currently can't walk further than 500m with everything hurting and having to sit down fir the rest of the day.
