Can I eat pizza and garlic mayo dipping sauce from DOMINO’S I’m 11 weeks pregnant?

I did.

I sure it’s ok, it’s only home made mayo you need to avoid.

Marmite27 · 03/03/2018 08:52

I’m 29+6 and I ate it last night.

Wouldn’t cross my mind to think I couldn’t!

RaindropsOnRoses2 · 03/03/2018 08:53

Ha! I've had it twice this week Grin

Princess9891 · 03/03/2018 08:54

You absolutely can. Cheese and tomato pizza dunked in the garlic and herb dip was my comfort food for my entire last pregnancy

JustmylifeA · 03/03/2018 08:55

No don’t, there have been terrible news stories about eating Dominos whilst pregnant. In fact, I would stop eating food altogether. It’s just too risky.

SPNs · 03/03/2018 08:58

Great - thanks for the advice (or most of it!) JustmylifeA I’ve had two miscarriages in the last year and that kind of makes you a tad more nervous about the do’s and don’t’s ....

Of course you can, why on earth could you not? So many threads from women asking about whether they can eat foods like pizza or orange juice in pregnancy, I don't know why people are so worried all of a sudden. Check the NHS pages re. What you should avoid, it's really not that restrictive!

Wishfulmakeupping · 03/03/2018 09:02

Yes and enjoy I would have loved a dominos but I couldn’t eat anything cheesy or with lots of tomatoes when I was expecting and I bloody love pizza (made up for it now though!) enjoy

zaalitje · 03/03/2018 09:07

SPNS just stick with the NHS guidelines and you'll be fine. Step away from google, it's full of conflicting outdated advice, and you've no idea of its veracity.

Massive multi national companies like Schweppes in your other post and Domino's here are going to have done everything possible to ensure hygiene standards are high.
Also commercially packaged food tends to be pasteurised, not raw.

I've also had several miscarriages along with fertility struggles, I know anxiety can take hold. It's really up to you how tense you are and how easy you make this pregnancy.

Thishatisnotmine · 03/03/2018 09:08

No. It's horrible stuff, I can't see how anyone likes it! Dominos pizzas made up most of my calorie intake in my first pregnancy though.

Homemade mayonnaise is fine as raw eggs are now officially on the safe list. The risk of getting salmonella from them though as been tiny for many years.

Foggymist · 03/03/2018 09:14

If you're going to ask Mumsnet before eating every meal it's going to be a very long pregnancy SPN.

SPNs · 03/03/2018 09:15

Thanks Zaalitje - that’s so true! I’m just going to stick to the stuff the midwife shared and assume everything else is far game!!!!! X

Apologies - I hadn’t realised my questions would annoy so many. I was just worried and looking for guidance I’m eleven weeks at this is one of only five posts I’ve put up. Didn’t think I was doing too badly considering 🤦‍♀️

Ask away SPNs I can totally understand your nerves Flowers

nomorespaghetti · 03/03/2018 09:21

Enjoy your pizza! I ate soooo much dominos pizza in my last pregnancyv with dd! The dip is amazing. Weirdly enough, my daughter doesn't like pizza. Probably got sick of it when she was on the inside Grin

SPNs · 03/03/2018 09:21

Thank you so much bless you x

SPNs · 03/03/2018 09:22

Haha! nomorespaghetti - your user name makes me smile as Spag Bol is my favourite dinner of all time but since I’ve been pregnant I can’t stomach it!!! Bizarre! Sx

HerSymphonyAndSong · 03/03/2018 09:23

Why can’t you eat homemade mayonnaise?

zaalitje · 03/03/2018 09:26

You can eat homemade mayo as long as eggs are lion stamped

afreshnewname · 03/03/2018 09:28

People don't need to read, or reply if your question annoys them. I remember being on edge a lot with my first pregnancy try and enjoy it. Hope your pizza was delicious

Iamagreyhoundhearmeroar · 03/03/2018 09:29

Of course you can. You need to remember that even the foods you're specifically told to avoid only carry a tiny risk of harm, and previous generations weren't even aware of the need to avoid.
But we're all still here.

BuffalotheGruffalo · 03/03/2018 10:31

I would've starved in the first few months if dominos was off limits, it was the saltiest, carb heavy meal I could find and the only thing I could eat without feeling sick!

PasstheStarmix · 03/03/2018 10:34

Just avoid pepperoni and cold meats.

GinIsIn · 03/03/2018 10:36

Seriously OP - STOP GOOGLING! You can have orange juice. You can have pizza. You can have anything apart from things specifically listed in the NHS guidelines. You are going to have a very long pregnancy if you do this for every food. I can understand you being anxious but you need to try and manage it.

NeverTwerkNaked · 03/03/2018 10:36

I was a total bundle of nerves in my first pregnancy, I worried about everything. Can currently hear said child (now 7) flinging himself off furniture like he has a spare neck GrinHmm ...
