So has anyone else got 2 of one sex and are really really wanting the opposite? I don't think I'm lucky enough and when people ask we say we're not bothered, but I secretly am,I would absolutely LOVE to give my other half a son! I'm 10+4 and look at Boys things all the time and clothes etc. I know people will say "long as it's healthy " which goes without saying just wondering if anyone else is really hoping xx

Oh I understand you. It's a normal feeling most people will experience I gather. I am the opposite I have a boy and secretly wanted another boy but pregnant with a girl. I was a bit disappointed to start with but soon got over it and now can't wait to meet her.

Brownbear84 · 27/02/2018 11:19

I don't even know what I would do with a boy 😂But I can't explain how amazing it would be to for my girls to have a little brother and my husband a son. I think if I pray and hope enough this little one will be a blue one xx

That's how I felt! I wouldn't even know what to do with a girl! I felt that I knew how to mother a boy but have no clue about girls!!
Are you having a harmony test as you can find out early. I found out at 10.5 weeks so have known for ages now.

Brownbear84 · 27/02/2018 11:33

Omg what's a harmony test?xx

hPFLAG · 27/02/2018 11:38

It's a blood test that checks for high or low risk of having trisomy 21 (Down syndrome), trisomy 18 (Edwards syndrome) or trisomy 13 (Patau syndrome). It also tells you the sex of the baby if you wishes to know. Depending on your area for the cost, I paid £495 in west london.

Marshmallower · 27/02/2018 11:45

I feel the same as you to the point where I feel quite sick with longing. I hope you get your little boy!

hPFLAG · 27/02/2018 11:46

Marshmallower what are you hoping for?

Marshmallower · 27/02/2018 11:47

Well I already have two wonderful boys Smile

Brownbear84 · 27/02/2018 11:50

@hPFLAG I have this anyway Hun next week with my usual 12 week scan but I don't think they'll tell me the sex from the results,it's just for the conditions the test. I won a voucher for a sex scan at babybond so gonna book that after our 12 week one for 16 weeks xx

Brownbear84 · 27/02/2018 11:51

 @hPFLAG Thanks

hPFLAG · 27/02/2018 11:52

Brownbear84 yea that's the NHS one which is too early to tell. The harmony is a private one. Another 5.5 weeks for you to know so do let us know!!

Marshmallower · 27/02/2018 11:52

Too early to get hopeful yet, just a couple of weeks...

hPFLAG · 27/02/2018 12:01

Do come back to update!

Brownbear84 · 27/02/2018 12:02

I have 2DDs and we've found out our third is going to be a boy! It's definitely possible, we've had a 7 year gap not sure if a bit of a break changes things but you never know. Keeping fingers crossed for you x

BrutusMcDogface · 28/02/2018 17:29

Of course it's possible! I know plenty of families that are boy, boy girl and vice versa. I'm not sure if having two girls already makes your chances of having another higher, or if it's still 50/50 but whatever will be, will be! I must admit I'm delighted to find that my current is the sex it is, but would have been happy with a healthy one of either sex. Good luck!

Chienrouge · 28/02/2018 17:32

I don't think I'm lucky enough

It doesn’t really work like that! The sex of the baby is determined by the man’s sperm, not by luck.

twobambinos · 28/02/2018 17:48

I read its always 50 50 even if you have one already.
I have two dds and I would love another one. Grin I think dh would like a boy but he hasn't openly said it. Anyway can't change a thing. Time will tell. Bring it on

Needmorehands · 28/02/2018 17:51

Has anyone got any reliable old wives tales which have worked for them on foretelling the gender? We currently have 2 of each and are expecting a surprise in 11 weeks, a lady at work is adamant I'm having a boy but we didn't look at teh scan... just curious

Chienrouge · 28/02/2018 17:54

reliable old wives tales

That’s a contradiction in terms.

Brownbear84 · 28/02/2018 22:23

@hulabaloo how did that feel finding out that amazing news? I don't know why I just couldn't see us been lucky enough to get a much wanted blue one! Would be amazing xx

Brownbear84 · 28/02/2018 22:25

I have two girls, but I'd be happy with another. DH is more bothered than me I think
